- I was walking around in the Pax Dei Alpha and happened upon a cozy home down by the river. I asked around and found the creator. She is Duine but some call her The Grey Lady the Master Builder for Sanctuary and she showed me around their cozy village. Her care to detail and for the residents there made me feel at home and yearning to visit again! This made me so excited to see how clans can collaborate to build something amazing!
I couldn't be more excited for this game! They're really hitting all the marks when it comes to building. The different angles and complex shapes of the houses really open up a ton of possibilities, that we haven't really seen in other games yet 🏠❤

Wow talk about immersion. This game truly has something for everyone kids and grandmas alike.
I love the presentation of the hall at the end of the street through the gate as you enter. So much thought went into the design of all the elements. The compact, open roofed crafting area is excellent. Lots of good ideas to inspire us - Thanks Duine!

What an amazing community. Very well organized, feel like a lived in space. Just feels a little exposed out in the open. I assume with raiding and perhaps even siege war in the future some fortifications will be necessary. This feels like a clan I'd feel at home with. I'd gladly offer my help in building fortifications to a good group such as this. Will be keeping my eyes on Pax Dei for sure. Used to play a lot of Conan Exiles a few years ago and this feels right up my ally.
I may want to add that simple shapes can make for some of the most amazing builds. You can do a lot with just squares and triangles.
great game, indeed. It reminds me to be an much better Valheim at graphics ... I waited for this :-) hopefully it will be released this year
This is all cool, I just hope that the gave gives reasons for people to actually use the towns rather than aesthetic appeal.
At the same time though with the current lineup of MMO's, I'm not complaining by a longshot. Looks amazing.

Impressive build. I think my age may be closer to Duine's but our playstyles are similar. Not sure if it will be my last game or not but maybe if I get a good 25 years or so out of it.

Hi. Thanks for the coverage of the game. This build is very cozy. However, and I ask this respectfully, is there a reason you seem to be running at sub 30fps with what looks like high settings? I am watching at 1080p60, and have seen some other people's footage of the game running much smoother. Are there not many graphics options yet? Cpu bottleneck? Or is this a lower preset and the game is just that demanding? I have a decent but mid-tier setup myself so trying to get an idea of what to expect. And yes I do realize it is an alpha.
Long story short, I am getting close to needing to upgrade my rig. But, the game is also unoptimized as an alpha. So essentially, if I wasnt recording I would be getting 60-90+ frames. Im using a 2080ti with 32 gb of RAM :-)

Can you move the placed items once its been placed down ? , Or do you have to destruct it and build again ?
Right now you have to deconstruct and replace but when you do deconstruct you get 100% of the resources back!
No offense but this GAME will not last on the market games of this type die relatively quickly , Another project Which has not yet been created and you can GO already crossed off the list :) Empty World players assimilating somewhere in the map account zero content Mmmm I see it mediocrely :) Thank you for your Attention :) JESNEK
What would make a game last longer?
Whato? ano Many changes, the player is not to cut off and hide somewhere on the map, MMO RPGs are games in which it is the players who drive, give life to the game alone game will do nothing without players can be hidden in the proverbial drawer. No matter how nice it would not look like I give this game 5 months no more after verifying and playing a lot of Mmorpg titles I can confidently assess so .Perhaps I will edit some material according to the title and what the creators FORGOT to implement in it. JESNEK
Given that I have plans to write the Game myself , not literally of course :) I will not write here where they made a mistake already at the start because with the current resources(I mean the studio , people and of course the money they have) they would quickly correct it :)
this isnt true at all. if new world can survive this game definitely can. go be miserable somewhere else
I'm very Happy and appreciate the work of fellow professionals but at the turn of 12 years I see for what reasons Games are falling , You made School mistakes is another home builder , type Conan Exails , Valheim , LiF etc . These types of games are fading fast Because all the producers are mistakenly betting on sanbox-survival gameplay . As you can see this is a big mistake . After I build a base and what and WHY I will continue to endlessly TRADE well somehow it does not convince me :)
Man the potential for this has gone from an 7 to a 10 for me... Sadly my confidence in the project might have gone down a little bit also... I understand it is in an alpha state but I fear that just seeing the building in this state without any animations and infinite bags of holding puts a bad taste in my mouth.. I was hoping for something a little more sim like where you could expect people having to gather resources into wheel barrels and actually raise walls...
That said they could turn this around for me by showing us a truely engaging combat system and some interesting exploration.
For me building is probably about a 2 in terms of importance so even though i am a bit disappointed with the mechanic itself there is still a lot of room for a great experience.
Also none of my problems are with the finished products of the homes. They look amazing when they are built.
