    Genius. Toyota wanted to charge me well over $300 to fix this. Insane. Many thanks. Only wish I had found this sooner.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!! My cup holder had been stuck for 7 years!! Toyota was going to charge me $350 to "fix" it, which was just too expensiveto fix, so I just left it like that for 7 years. Just yesyerday, I remembered about that cupholder. I was actually looking to buy the part online (maybe trying to save a little money), when I happened upon your video. My daughter and I followed your directions and it works fantastic now! You saved me $350!!! We cannot thank you enough! 😁👍

    Thank you so much. Dirt and lattes turned out not to be the problem with mine. It just won’t come out. But, after trying your fix, I added a plastic stop in the back so I can pull it out. I use this cup holder all the time. You saved me much exasperation and spilled drinks!

    Great video - thank for sharing these smart tricks for this cup holder repair/upgrade. Is there any lubrication needed/recommended for this unit?

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could put a small amount of lithium grease on the gear but it's not absolutely needed for this plastic gear system.

      Atkinson Mark: We don't have that truck here in the states. I'm thinking you might be in Australia? I looked at the part for your truck and I have good news and better news. The good news is that it has no spring drive mechanism to push it out like the one for the Prius this video. Yours is designed to just pop out a bit and then you have to pull it out to use it. If it's just gummed up a bit, I recommend cleaning it in place to loosen it up. If it is broken beyond use, then the better news is that it is not held in with screws, it's just snapped in with friction tabs. You could try just pulling it out but something might break so I recommend getting behind it (under dash) and pressing down from above on the two friction tabs that are holding it in place. When in doubt, study the pictures of it on Ebay and I'm confident you will have this done in no time. Thanks for the comment and best of luck with it.

    Hi!! By any chance would you know how to replace the rear cup holder that’s attached to the center piece? Something fell on it while it was opened, and the pull out door is completely busted. I couldn’t find a solution anywhere.

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Melina Ksor: I had to look to see what you are referring to. I have never used that folding twin cup holder that is mounted within the panel that is on the back of the center console. I can imagine that if it gets gummed up, it would also need a good hot water bath. I am not certain, but I believe that the entire back panel that it is mounted within is just friction tab mounted onto the center console assembly. Again, I am not certain but it appears that pulling it from the bottom tabs first and then working your way up will release it from the center console. It might be a bit nerve racking to give it a firm yank just like the glove box; but that appears to be the method to remove it. If you try it, please let us know if that works. Thanks for the question.

    Just bought a Prius V and the cupholder had issues. Followed this video and when I popped it out, a small plastic piece came out with it (likely what was clogging it). My only problem now is everything is clean and springy, but I don’t know where this extra piece goes 😕It looks like it may have been the stopper or holder that keeps the tray in place when it’s pushed in.

    • @ScubaMoto

      Joseph White: Congrats on getting the wagon and I'm glad the video helped. Without seeing it, I can't even guess what popped out but if everything is working now then congrats on a job well done. 👍🏾
