Staying at Leverkusen means he can play UCL football with players he is already familiar with as well
Which players ? Theyre leaving 😂
Imagine thinking that Leverkusen side isn’t going to get picked apart in the summer 😂😂
@@trojantony195just like xavi was leaving for Liverpool 😂😂
No They are Not, only frimpong might leave all other players already committed to next saison, even their best player Florian Wirtz already said he’s staying
Unfortunately most of them will be at bayern, Chelsea and united next season
Simon and Martin start speaking around 5:00
thanks, its great to be able to skip the guy who actually knows what hes talking about to get to the guy who seems barely awake and the guy who compares xabi alonso to emma raducanu
which is a lie
@@jemimallah then skip in just under a minute .....
Thank you
They missed a very important point.
Leverkusens budget v munich v dortmund
Leverkusen is owned by Bayer lol
Fully owned by bayer
While Leverkusen is owned by Bayer they receive little as 25mio per year.
It not like Alonso has seen success too soon. Early success may trouble young professionals. Alonso has seen and learned to sustain success over so many years be at Liverpool Madrid or Bayern. He is a smart professional as smart as they come
Leverkusen would've won it even if B.Munich were in their prime. They're literally unbeaten
The most points ever picked up in the Bundesliga season is 91 points, we’ll see if that gets surpassed or not.
As a Liverpool fan I agree he was right to stay at Leverkusen, he’s built a good team won the league and now wants to see how far they can go
He didnt loose 1 game ....incredible
If you loose your game you will LOSE it
This is way bigger and better then Dortmunds win . Winning trophies is always an achievement but people make too much of Klopp at Dortmund , they are Germanys second biggest team they won the UCL in 97 winning the league with them is not a miracle nor was it the unstoppable Bayern they became until they signed Dortmunds 3 best players of course
Tell me you know nothing of German football without telling me you know nothing of German football 😅
But ok, let's do a little history lesson: Dortmund were indeed big in the 90s and early 2000s winning the CL and 3 leagues between 95 and 2002. However they made a lot of very bad investments and expensive transfers they couldn't really afford to try and keep that success going. This, coupled with bad managers led them to be near bankrupt in 2005. They were basically the FC Barcelona of the mid naughties, only they couldn't just cheat their way out of it like Barca.
The big stars left the club, there was no money to invest in the future, they became completely irrelevant and came close to relegation at one point.
Then Klopp arrived. He implemented a new identity on the pitch, worked well with the scouting department and led the club back to success within 3 years with no money whatsoever.
What Klopp did at Dortmund is the most impressive turnaround of a club implemented by a manager in this century. Bigger than what he did at Liverpool and DEFINITELY bigger than what Alonso did at Leverkusen (I can hold another lecture on that).
I'm a Bayern fan by the way, so I hate Dortmund and Leverkusen equally, before you accuse me of bias.
And just to round it of, here are Dortmunds League Positions in the 5 years before Klopp: 6, 7, 7, 9, 13
And after Klopp: 6, 5, 1, 1, 2
Case closed. Class dismissed.
@@fdm698 What are Leverkusen's league positions in the 5 years before Alonso?
@@fdm698 with all due respect but Leverkusen’s title win is more of a miracle than Dortmund winning in 2011. I mean look they won the league while being unbeaten in 29 matches. That’s unbelievable.
@@jackargyle4843 thanks , was going to say same
@@jackargyle4843 5, 4, 5, 6, 3 they definitely took a massive step under Alonso, but they were always hovering around the top group in the league.
Liverpool after Klopp leaves under FSG will expose the FSG in fans patience when they realise how much of a miracle Klopp did with the budget, and making good transfers into world class players.
Klopp didnt sign the players. Your man whose just come back as sporting director was the one who signed the Klopp players. Klopp has admitted he didn't want Salah.
BS... spent a lot on top players. Credit to him because ManU and Chelsea also spent and more but he had a healthy budget right through. Give credit to the opposition
@@drep9028very low net spend compared to others. Google it.
Must have been hard for Liverpool, getting by on tuppence all these years 😢 the bigger miracle is the narrative spun by certain sections of fans and the media all these years

Who believes in Harry Kane's curse? I do!
I believe Harry's surname is Kane
In a year's time, Bayern will win the league and you will be wiser, just by a bit.
applies to England too blud, the Spursy nation
I believe in Pochetino's curse too
I believe he is just overrated
Alonso was one of the greatest ever midfield pivot playmakers of his generation along with modric and pirlo. These type of players have genius football brains. I will never forget that Rafa Benitez wanted to sale Alonso to fund a move for Gareth Barry (Absolute Madness) Alonso wanted to stay and dug his hells in. The following season he was insane and arguably had his best season in a Reds shirt. The following season he went to Real Madrid and became part of the 2nd Gallitico project for 33m. Its no surprise he was going to be a good manager as he had all the mental and technical ingredients. But this........just wow. This is beyond all expectations. I hope he stays and has a good crack at the champions league next season. They have a chance as Man City key players like Walker, de bruyne, are in their 30s and they are not the same team without Rodri and have no back up. Arsenal as it stands are bottlers. Well done Xavi...my fave player and a legend!
The most impressive thing for me is that they didn't lose any games at all
He could win the Europa League as well. I suspect that he may land up with the Liverpool job some time in the future. Just not now.
It's funny how they're all saying this was the right decision like it was obvious after about 50 Talk Sport videos debating which club Alonso would go to this summer with next to no consideration in any of them for staying.
That’s because people are so ignorant and just automatically assume the so called BIG clubs have some type of divine right to have anyone they want…
@user-dm2nx4yu5o and also people have egos so they want to move to the biggest clubs and deal with that type of pressure surely that's every managers dream .. unless he genuinely believes they can go b2b and win the UCL
Fair doos, well done, we need this kind of success globally!
Brought in Boniface, Xhaka and Grimaldo last season without CL football.
Wonder what they're gonna cook this summer.....
German clubs attract talent because they offer an excellent platform for them to shine.
They can then go to a big club if an offer comes in.
This time I think they might want to hold on a bit.
Well done Koop in 8 years you won as many trophies as pep in one year
Well that’s not true is it? Weird comment
competing against a State owned sports washing fake sponsorship Offshore bank accounts 115 charges who spend millions more club, who don't have rival.
easy when u have endless resources.. Pep wouldnt have won anything had he managed LFC..
Bro calls himself bkfitness and looks like a anorexic Harry maguire
@edu1113 You fools genuinely believe it’s because of unlimited budget and not the fact that Pep is actually a very very good manager. United and Chelsea have similar budgets yet have been struggling for years now. Why is that? You folks will always look for ways to discredit the genius of Pep.
Its obvious Alonso is waiting for real Madrid
I just love Martin. Could listen to him all day long
Alonso is a elite manager and he proved it last Thursday when he pulled the pub team manager David Moyes trousers down
Make sense of that comment for me.
Relax kid, lets see what happens next season
I bet Alonso enjoys pulling men's trousers down
@@P.Rick316 How can I relax when there is a creepy old man like you in the room
Alonso is waiting for Real Madrid.
Sure sure…
Yep. I can almost guarantee that he has already had a chat with Perez, and there is an agreement in place.
Of cuz.. LaLiga, pure authentic league
For sure
They’re already looking at putting the blocks in place for alonso’s wing back system
Davies is coming from Bayern and they are rumoured to be in for Trent too, although that one seems unlikely
Man City owns tinpot la liga@@Triple_X_X
For me staying at Leverkusen is a good choice. If he will be successful next season, and for sure he will. Hopefully a 2nd title. It increases his value, increases his credibility and an amazing CV. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool will be vying for his signature.
Horrible weather, horrible food, horrible media banter, horrible refereeing and horrifyingly horrible scheduling!!!
Hints why many great players and coaches don't want to go to England.(Messi,mbappe,vini,JUDE!...)
Watch him coach Madrid the following year! 😅
That being said I do love Liverpool ❤️
He learned it's Leverkusen, nit Levercowsen 😅 respect
He was endlessly mocked for it in the comments to his Ballack interview.
Didn’t some of these English pundits say Alonso bottled it by deciding to stay at Leverkusen?
I think he made right decision staying think they do well in the Champions League
Lets see now if he can do it again with 2 or even 3 of his best players playing with Munich next year because thats what Munich do if another team wins .
😂😂😂 Not only with players, with coaches as well.
Bayer Leverkusen aren't Dortmund or Leipzig,, i think him staying also means he's had some negations about keeping his core group.
dont talk this populistic rubish
I was hoping he would take the Liverpool job, but ofcourse it's the right choice to stay with the team he built, enjoy the win and even buid on it next season.
Munich couldve been in their pomp and even beaten levwrkusen at home but theres no way they would have matched the run leverkusen had
Right decision! Man City will be looking for a new manager in a season or two
And then let’s see how good city are with out pep
Alejandro Grimaldo left back at leverkuzen seems a hell of a player 11 goals 16 assists. wish man utd had him.
Man u would ruin him just like every other player they sign 😂
@@therealjag no doubt.
With respect, United would only ruin him.
Man United priduced Ronaldo @@JF-ut2rr
@@user-kw5vk3cd3qwhich Ronaldo did United produce?
😂😂
Please let us know.
He’s right to stay because he’ll get a free season now to make mistakes and have a bad run if an inevitable drop off happens. Plus he isn’t expected to take over from a legendary manager. But if whoever does come into Liverpool has success, then he might regret missing his chance. You never know, but you can’t say he hasn’t been loyal.
Bayer Leverkusen are run by a very Rich Company they should not do what Dortmund did or what Union Berlin did, they should keep the core Squad and not sign so many new players but.... they should also invest in World Class players at least two or three to really compete in the UCL next season and go again for the Title.
They can't just splash the cash because they are backed by a big company.
In Germany things are done a bit different.
@@keystone6162 Well that's the problem...The Bundesliga has some ridiculous rules that just drags the League behind...the League has potential but i don't see it ever reaching it.
Im a United fan and it doesnt take a genius to work out that he wouldnt say anything about leaving until the league is won. Lets wait until the season is over and clubs lose managers and make him some offers. I doubt he would leave for Bayern Munich and the Madrid offer isn't on the table. Liverpool have the best chance if they have the other two teams money.
Liverpool would have been perfect if he didn’t have something already going on that was perfect
maybe he wants to do a pep make sure he manages clubs with unlimited money/power, so i expect to see him at city or newcastle... maybe psg before hand.. taking over liverpool he may struggle and he'll never get the chance again to take the easy option, thats my opinion
Why is this even a question?
It’s dumbass when typical comment from pundit like Jim’s “is it too soon?” Ridiculous. When can success ever be to soon?? Success is success, take it when it comes. Some clubs can go decades without no success. So take it when it comes.
Why leave now? Bundesliga champions , champions league next year, maybe Europa league still this season. Stay and see what can happen next season. He created a wonderful team.
Liverpool will go back to where they belong mid table next season. The only chance they had of a title again was this season. They will drop off massively next season.
Dortmund threw the title away last year on the last day, it's about time somebody kicked Bayern off the top spot.
Is it too soon? What kind of question is that? Should a team start losing because it is too soon to win anything?
So many basic questions and answers...
Whats the point of a lot of these videos without any insight
The Bundesliga desperately needed a new champion. Congratulations Xabi
I know a lot of the players say they want to stay but money talks
He's made plenty of money already through his career. One more year at leverkusen won't hurt
Not talking about the manager, I was referring to the players
Liverpool are finished after Klopp is done. Xabi is smart, taking that job will ruin his career. He can go to Real Madrid.
But if leverkusen sell half of their players and struggle next season, will he still be claiming he was right to stay?
If madrid come in for him in the summer and he joins them, will he be wrong to leave?
Why would they sell their players they’ve just won the league and will probably win three trophies this year earning lots of money there’s no reason to sell and the players will most likely stay as long as xabi is still there.
@@abzino9941 xabi will at most do another year.
Sure Leicester thought the same thing, same as Monaco in 2017. Believe me I'd love for them to stay and leverkusen to win it again next year but when a club comes in offering to 3x a players pay, they will want out
He is obiviously waiting for the call for Real Madrid
Liverpool must get Southgate now at all costs.
Simon is the most dislikable character in radio. The guy takes credit away from everyone, only he is gods gift according to his voice.
If Leverkusen go unbeaten they would have won the league from Bayern on their point tally on any previous bundesliga season in history, pick any Bayern team in history!!!! This isn’t a Bayern are in decline, this is WELL DONE Leverkusen
Leverkusen will take Bayern down again next year. I hope Bayern Munich gets a new manager so that in 2025 they can't blame it all on Tuchel.
Simon in February: Liverpool will win the league, Simon in March: Arsenal will win the league. Simon in April, Alonso right not to go to Liverpool. I think he's learned something and hopefully we all have too
He just said Liverpool is a tall order. Plus you don't wanna go there after Klopp. It is like dating a woman after she divorces Idriss Alba or Chris Hemsworth.
@@edwinndirangu659 haha well played sir
Simon wanted him to go to Liverpool
This loyalty thing will flop xabi next season, all the key players will be leaving guaranteed. a bunch of em are currently making under 40k, they won’t be turning down the offers coming in the summer
I still think Alonso will end up at Liverpool next season
every good coach has to go to Premier League????? no way
The thing is im a Liverpool fc fan saying what is the point having digs at man city yes they have spent had we Liverpool fc done the same in klopps era instead of having 1 premier league titie 2 or 3 would have been ours
That argument is poor we need to tell our owners spend or sell simple as
You have spent

Klopp has had enough of the corruption in the EPL.
Now why would any human being wanna downgrade to Liverpool??

Liverpool management didn’t support Klopp probably one of the worlds top managers with proper signings, why should alonso come??
He is waiting for the Real Madrid job
Simon who?
Staying at bayer-Leicester-kusen is purly sentimental and clearly daft , they'll finish 5 next season half the teams leaving for one thing and for two your moving mad if you think Munich wont be back ten fold , People that cant see this season was a fluke need a sit down with them self's. He should of dipped on a high, instead they will finish 5th next year and he will be seen out the door then all off a sudden nobody will want him and he ends up in the Spanish second tier
