The KANN Ultra supports Bluetooth 5.3. There has been an error on the spec sheet and Astell&Kern is working hard to correct it. We'll be updating our site soon to match. 🙂
I just ordered one. I make music and as part of music recording and production, it helps massively to use the same headphones for listening to music as you do recording, mixing and mastering. My phone doesn’t have a headphone port, nor can it drive my DT 1990 Pro’s. I figured that given music is a huge part of my life, I may as well invest in some great equipment for listening. Also, because I do recording, mixing and mastering, I have a ton of uncompressed studio albums that I use for reference. With the KANN Ultra, I can listen to those AND my own tracks for review instead of uploading my tracks to Soundcloud to listen on the go (which is a habit I should have squashed years ago)
We feel the SP3000's unique HEXA-Audio design produces a better overall sound, but as we always say, everyone hears differently! We highly recommend listening first before you buy, if possible. my first serious dap was AK70 mk2, its a tiny thing but DAP should be tiny to be really portable, Kann ultra is made to amp big headphones and I think it serve its purpose with A&K style just right 👍 its not really for pocket use but nor are big headphones (its for fanatics that have possibility to listen comfortable to big headphones on the go, or just relax in the rich villa garden)
The ultra sounds great especially with the silver dragon cable and has a lot of power which is ideal to use with our silver dragon cable. In summary this is a great DAP which is even better when paired with the silver dragon cable.

iPhone sounds like crap. Better than most android. But even cheaper DAP would be superior in every way. All sizes and power levels out there and chip configurations. You don’t have to go expensive. These are what iPods should have been. True HD music with nice dacs audio and amplifiers. The difference is night and day even with a cheaper DAP.

Anstell & Kern don't offer iOS upgrades, that means in 3-5 years won't be able to connect to streaming platforms, like Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz,... Not not for the 1100ii not for the 3800 or NOT even the very expensive N500 with a price tag entry level 11000 USD! I wrote to A&K Europe, South Korea,... UK does not offer support. They don't care about customers
According to the spec shit, the bluetooth is v4.2, when the MAX has v5.0. Why the downgrade?

How does it compare to the se180 with the standard amp? Soundwise/signature wise?

How powerful is the khan ultra 16vrms when compared to the c9 4000 mw @16ohm?ls it upto half the power of c9,quarter or more?Thank you.
