Okay, I’m being so honest here… this is your best video ever. This is genuinely a new peak… again! The editing, info, tones, is all just phenomenal!! The editing and style of the video is so amazing, I love this!!! Hope to see more like this!!

If such a box set existed, my vote for a title would be: "I think he could have some kind of future in music if he keeps at it." That's priceless! Really great video, excellent work!
I wish they would just release it. For one, they would make racks. For two, it would make so many people happy, for third, we would finally have real titles. And finally, If it was in that box set, everyone and there mother would buy that!
Really appreciate your commitment to Nirvana. I saw them Dec 3, 1993 in New Orleans. Haphazard trip that I extended just to see Nirvana. I was hooked in early 92. (Breeders opened). Honestly, your contribution to Nirvana's legacy cannot be understated. Ive bought Fender Cobain Jag and pedals from your videos. Thanks so much for keeping the legacy alive!!
She has never been the same after Kurt died, as when you see the old interviews she seems quite nice although misunderstood. Now it seems she's only in the news for threatening someone with a lawsuit over something of Kurt Cobain. Oh well, hopefully she'll figure herself out someday.

This is why I recommend 'Incesticide' to anyone not really familiar with his music. To me that is just the full spectrum. Kurt is the main ingredient though, the songs rarely work for someone else.
Pop, too. Kurts melodies were VERY pop. Not so much in the very early stuff, but definitely later... Very tuneful and melodic. His distorted scream voice gave it that raw edge. If he didnt have that, he would have sounded exactly like Michael Stipe. Nirvana were like a punk rock grunge noise pop band. They were totally their own thing
Bro, I swear I'm not kidding, today I had a dream that you released this exact video and now suddenly a notification appears on your phone and you really saw it
I absolutely love these tone recreation videos you do, this one in particular felt more like I was watching a documentary about Kurt rather than a TH-cam video. Now I can’t help but wonder what Bleach would sound like if it was recorded this way.
According to Kurt, He wanted to re-record everything on fecal matter with Jack Edino. But ultimately felt pressured by the 70s rock trend going on in Washington, so he ended up writing all the songs on bleach to fit in with the new Seattle sound.
Yes, dude!! I had no idea Kurt used a Superfuzz. The Behringer fuzz is awesome. I thought I was the only one who knew about mode 1.5 (discovered it by accident messing around with the pedal,) but then years later saw a bunch of youtube vids talking about it. I have the ultra rare first edition blue led version, lol. Used to gig w/ it, never had any issues, & it even survived a flood in my basement!
ERIC!! Fantastic video again as always! Excellent work!! I’m so thankful you let me help you with Nirvana information in anyway I can! Your tone was so good on this!
This was a great video. I have to agree with you about being surprised they've never released a sort of "early recordings" boxset with the Fecal Matter tape in full, it seems like a no brainer considering they're basically released everything else Kurt ever recorded. It would probably be one of the few of those Cobain demo recording sets that I would actually be interested in buying. As for the songs on the tape itself, I've dug it ever since I listened to it on TH-cam years back. You got really darn close with the guitar tones in this video, makes me want to consider grabbing another Behringher fuzz again.
This might be my fav video because i have watches this video a million times and i still find out new things you are like my Wikipedia for Nirvana and Fecal Matter!!
Im lucky to have seen Melvins in the Ozma days a bunch of times in Nashville. The reason Kurt never joined Melvins was that Buzzo introduced Kurt to a drummer named Dave, Kurt heard Dave play, and the rest is history. Im proud to have witnessed small slivers of its beginnings. Those were good days
You've got your timelines really mixed up. Buzz introduced Dave and Kurt in 1990. Nirvana was already a band for 3 years, had recorded one album officially, a second unofficially, and had been through like 76000 drummers by that point. Kurt wanted to be in the Melvins, or a band like the Melvins, when he was in his late teens because there was nobody else doing that and he thought it was rad.
It’s really accurate to what I know. The guitar is definitely direct, or at least I think so, because I’ve recorded with a direct guitar and it sounds really similar. I didn’t know that they played any live shows though, so thats news to me
You didn't learn me anything because I'm like you a big fan of nirvana and I searched everything I could find on pre-bleach Kurt Cobain era and. I just wanna thank you for being so kind and share all these stories to the world. Thank you for your work man.
Finally, someone did research and documentated this. You know, if you have questions...just ask Dale. He was there for the recordings...what I've heard Dale say in interviews is he plugged directly into the recorder.
From what I've learned about Kurt, he was someone that knew exactly what it felt like to struggle just to have an instrument that worked, I feel like he'd relate with the person borrowing a second hand off brand guitar, using a $50 garage sale amp, with a $25 pawn shop pedal, far more than someone spending $15k to sound exactly like he did(I'm glad you show alternatives ^^). I can't imagine him being happy to know that the things available to him, borrowed or cheap, were now out of reach in price to most people, simply because he created an iconic sound using them.
Just came across your channel & I gotta say this is a great video! As a beginner guitarist, I look forward to buying my first pedal through your Amazon storefront so I can recreate my favorite nirvana songs. Thanks a lot & rock on🤘🏽
In those short audio clips I could hear Flyd the Barber , and the tone for Dive on the Bleach album, and also, I think the song Swap Meet from Incesticide. Very nice 🤘
Amazing work, I only knew a bit about the Fecal Matter demo but this brought the full picture, would love to see a full tone cover of Illiteracy Will Prevail if it’s possible

Can't have money made off Kurt's music going into someone else's pocket, now can we?
In other words this is about Kurt’s past and new beginnings as a vocalist, song writer and guitarist which is pretty cool to know about.
Bambi Slaughter is no bullshit one of my favorite Cobain songs, ever. That riff is dirty and raw and I’m absolutely here for it.
