I get the impression that some of the key staff at CGTN (not this interviewer) are a neoliberal hangover from the past. That is why they keep having all these useless neoliberals on from the West. And rarely if ever interview radical economists from abroad. Moreover, they never really explain the key economic lessons that China learnt from the mistakes made in the Soviet system and the maoist era. Such as the dramatically improved planning system, and how to utilize and control the private sector.
