The name Children of Bodom is now laid to rest since three of the bands original members left the group and took the rights to the name with them. The frontman Alexi Laiho and the second guitarist Daniel Freyberg formed a new band called Bodom After Midnight. COB played their last live show at Helsinki in last December.

I've been a metalhead for over a decade and these were one of the first bands that got me into metal. They are Power Metal and Melodic Death Metal You need to check out Archspire- Human Mumuration. I think CoB just broke up like 6 months ago or something. But they put out several albums since this song. The last one was called Hexed. It came out not long ago. Maybe a year and a half ago.

They are now known as Bodom after midnight. Also their band name is based off of Lake Bodom.. a true event that happened in the mid 1900's where kids were murdered and thrown in a lake where they drowned.. I think that is how It went.. correct me if I'm wrong.
COB was a huge influence in my life and I miss Alexi, but only now do I understand the lyrics... the "my nemeis are you me?" "through a mirror I do behold" "should I be dead or ask myself are you dead yet?" is talking all about ego death. It's talking about defeating your inner demons. It's such an uplifting song while when I was younger I saw it as a straight forward "f you are you dead yet" to an enemy kinda song.
no they are not playing anymore, the band split last year and had thieir last live concerts a little before summer. but still badass songs to review though. entertaining videos by the way
