I've been watching a few of your videos repeatedly as I found them really useful. Especially the top 10 most common fails. Thank you. I passed my test yesterday with two minors x
Just passed my test in the 2015 A3 and just want to say I found your videos really helpful! I really like the slow and methodical pace, your calm voice and the camera angles showing clear use of all the buttons and stalks is very appreciated too. I also really like how you take the time to talk through all the points you make in the top 10 common fails video as well, you remind of my favourite teachers and lecturers from school and uni. Thanks Ash :)
Cheers for these Show Me Tell Me videos. I couldn't remember the answers from reading them off the government site to save my life. Watched your videos a couple of days before taking my test in an Audi A3 and the answers stuck in my head. Passed this morning, cheers for the visual aid it really helped!
5 Lights... you don’t need to exit the vehicle. Answer: Simply. Get out and walk round the vehicle (that’s what you tell the examiner you would do) I hope you understand now?
@@johngrice2246 "But you have exited the vehicle," you say. I don't agree... No, we haven't exited the vehicle and the question mentioned that we don't need to. So, how do I verify the lights are on without exiting the vehicle? The solution was never given. All I'm saying is I was intrigued by this question. I wanted to know the answer and I never got it. How do you check to see the lights are on without exiting the vehicle? I wanted to know the answer! Unfortunately, the answer included the procedure of leaving the vehicle that supposedly was unnecessary. I was just was trying to point out that the answer didn't correctly answer the question. I had guessed the answer might include using the windows (of a storefront) like mirrors.
This Tester asked me 4 questions instead of 2. He was hell bent on failing me... He unfairly booked me on clearance in meeting situation.. And a serious for not looking left at a junction which had cars stopped at red lights
The brake light check is something all so often forgotten. I've seen cars where the only brake light they have is a single LED in the third, centre, brake light!
If there is one thing I absolutely despise is a reduced sized spare tire. I like my spare tires full sized with the same exact tire as the one that was in use. I never likes limping to the nearest tire store or home on those puny spare tires. You couldn't do this in Canada on the open highway, you would be a traffic hazard to yourself and everyone else. This is why most Canadian vehicles no longer have those reduced spare tires and only the full sized spare tires. The reduced space tire is just too dangerous even for really short drives. If you are a driving student and notice your training car has a reduced sized spare tire then you need to find another driving school.
My car doesn't accommodate any spare not even a space saver because the particular model has a different floor pan than the rest of the range which removed the tyre well to make space for a freer flow twin pipe exhaust design.
Of course the ABS warning light is just that, a warning light, the fact that it goes out tells you nothing except that it has gone out, you will only really know that the ABS works when you use it in anger.
Well if the ABS warning light did stay on this would indicate that there is some sort of fault with the ABS. Whether the ABS physically still works when engaged is another story.
On my test the instructor asked me to demonstrate the horn. I think I said something like, "Given we are in the test centre carpark.", BEEP, "Although technically I shouldn't without good reason.". He just answer, "Exactly, well done."
My test was actually really relaxing. Me and the examiner just chatted about going on motorcycle tours. He even commented something my instructor always said, "When you get in the car with a student who is also a biker, you never see them miss an observation check.". Which was ironic as the only minor I got was for not looking out the back window before moving during the reverse into a junction part.
Im thinking of using my own car when doing my test as i find it easier to control and use in general. is there anything i need to know or should be aware of?
Why even put in the questions , you dont need to exit vehicle ? When the answer is you do leave the vehicle . How do you know if the water inside the saucepan with its lid on is boiling ? Answer you lift the lid ...lol
My test is tomorrow and my instructor hasn’t gone through any of these with me, your videos are a lifesaver
Good luck!
@@ashley_neal I passed!!! 😁😁
Congrats but that seems like a big deal that your instructor didn't bother going through these with you.
@@Mr.M1STER I know. My brother helped me as much as possible but he couldn’t remember all of them so finding this video was so lucky

Is the “you don’t need to exit the vehicle” just a ploy to make you mess up the question?
I guess they mean you don't have to exit the vehicle right now to answer the question?
You could look at the reflection against something i suppose
xerox3333 it’s a question not a demonstration.
If they say "tell" they expect a verbal response. If they say "show" they seek a demonstration in practical terms.
Damn. A Audi for a learner car. They will defo notice the power drop when they get a 1.0 litre 😂
I managed to get a VW passat 1.9tdi 130hp for my first car insured for £1500 in my name
It's only a 1.6l. Insuring a 1.6l isn't that bad for a first car either.
I’m learning in my instructors 1.4 tfsi Audi A1... has nothing on my £300 1.25 fiesta and it always surprises me when I put my foot down in the audi😂😶
Ewan Fairgrieve I smell bullshit
Not just to do with the capacity of the engine (output). Look at F1 engines

I’m super nervous for the show me tell me element but your videos are super helpful! Thank you so much!
My mother and my sister been driving for over 20 years, neither of them have a clue how to even add windscreen washer fluid
These questions may not have been part of the test when they did their test but also I don't think it is a fail to get these questions wrong anyway.
I'm from Colombia 🇨🇴 I'm learning to drive and you help me alot thank you very much for you tips.
Your volume is always lower than usual, increase next time if you can. Would be appreciated

Thank you very much
Strange question, but what if you turn up in a really old car without hydraulic brakes?
