    This is a very helpful video. Thank you for showing us where the controls are while also providing brief descriptions of what they do. These videos are often so jargon-heavy that they are of no use to those of us who trying to learn. That's not the case with your video.

      I’m totally in agreement with you. The other videos I’ve watched use a great deal of jargon that I was totally lost and rather discouraged. This video is spot on! He explains it in a way for true beginners with no knowledge of the app.

    Thank you thank you thank you, Justin. This was a perfect jump start for me to figure out how to use FILMICPro. Once you have the basics of this powerful app the rest is quite easy to figure out. You saved me days of a tedious and frustrating learning curve. I very much appreciate the time and effort you put into this tutorial to help out us newbies.

    Oh wow. You are the right tutor for a novice like me. Thank you. My video skills are aim, press, and shoot. That's it. But I'm taking a trip in 2 months and need courses to improve my footage even just a bit. I'll be getting 2 lenses from Moment (anamorphic & 58mm tele) along with some filters UV/CPL and variable ND. Then I'll be getting the freefly MOVI gimbal too. Guess what, I now am committed to do so all because of your tutorial. I have both Moment and Filmic pro apps and now I don't have to worry too much in trying to navigate through all this stuff. I simply needed a starting point. Again, thank you very much. So excited!! Just want a new hobby. All personal consumption. Only account I have is FB - which I heard is now for folks 50 and above. haha. Thanks again.

    This video was just what I needed to kickstart things. I've been doing photography for years, but decided to get more into film. Just got the Zhiyun Smooth 4 as a gift, and was going to return it until FiLMiC saved the day! The app that comes with the gimbal crashes on only feature, and that is recording video on the main camera. That makes it kinda useless except for panos, but FiLMiC Pro with the Smooth 4 works great on the HTC U12 Plus. Interestingly, the video OIS works better on the phone default app than in FiLMic Pro, but, HTC worked with Google on the Pixel OIS and tied it into the phone gyros, and the default camera app with the gimbal makes for ghost-like smoothness.
    Only thing I have to do now is map out the gimbal controls, because some of the button functions on the Smooth 4 are different when using FiLMiC Pro. Oh, and I need to find a good editor for Windows because Windows Movie Maker is not gonna cut it, lol.

    Great tutorial on Filmic Pro, easy to understand and follow! What would also be interesting is your recommended method to get the recorded video off the iPhone to a computer to edit. With an Android phone it's straight forward but I think taking out the video from the iPhone to a PC is more trickier.

    Would love an updated and much more fleshed out tutorial on this, just bought the app on your recommendation, Open Camera was a little buggy too and I also wanted to be able to save presets rather than set up my shot everytime I reopen the app. But I can see some of Filmic Pro has changed such as focus/exposure locking for example, not enough changes to justify a whole new video although in this video there was a lot of controls unmentioned, such as the smaller pull speed sliders and ISO BIAS settings within the larger sliders in the exposure and focus interface. Between your videos and the super handy descriptions in the Open Camera settings, I was able to find out and understand what all the settings were but with Filmic I'm a bit lost

    Thanks for this video Justin. It is timely. I have been thinking of using my iphone for tighter shots on my videos (I have 2 other cameras). I have not had great results from my trials so far as the light is killing the footage. I film a lot of my videos outdoors. FiLMic Pro could very well be the answer.
    I am really enjoying your content.

    • @PrimalVideo
      @PrimalVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, yeah Filmic will give you a heap of control over your shot. If you're doing lots of filming outdoors and the light is an issue you could try some lens filters, these are the ones I currently use: th-cam.com/video/caOd3A6OiS8/w-d-xo.html

    For those who are just starting our and want to shoot in manual but no budget for filmic pro, you should try Moza Genie App it's available for Android & IOS completely free. Best thing is You can use the features even without a Moza Gimbal.

    Do you suggest using attachable lenses instead of the just the camera on the Ipad? If so, what do like and why? Looks like you're pretty much using basic focusing, but does this app give the the ability to change the aperture?

    We were just wondering about remotes for shooting with iPhone. I have the Nikon app on my iPhone that lets me run the DSLR remotely, but I love the lightness and simplicity of using the iPhone for location shooting. (And let's face it, in this digital nomad world, EVERY shot can be a location shot...) But the shocker: FiLMiC (gotta use the weird upper/lower case mix, right?) shows up as under US$15 on the App Store. Guess I'll be downloading that soon. Thanks!

    Thanks for the walkthrough I have filmic pro and the log and flat pack
    I have a boya m1 and I have an adapter that lets me put headphones in and charge it at the same time, but when I put my boya mic into the adapter it makes the audio so hissy sounding that it’s unusable.
    Do you have any suggestions for how to charge your iPhone while using a boya mic with it, without destroying the audio?

    • @PrimalVideo
      @PrimalVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you tried a battery pack for charging instead of plugging into the wall? you could be getting 'dirty power' through which is adding the noise to your microphone..

    Thanks for your video. It’s very useful. I wonder if I can use Flimic Pro together Video Teleprompter on iPhone XR.

    • @PrimalVideo
      @PrimalVideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not as far as i know. On android you can overlay your teleprompter script using Nano Teleprompter, but not on iOS
