I go to a school with a uniform! our school colors are red, white, navy, and gray. what girls wear is: no headwear/hoods allowed, but they are lenient with bandanas and other hair accessories. in the high school, we have collared shirts, short and long sleeved, in our school colors with our logo. certain sports teams or other activities also give you other collared shirts with different logos. on fridays, we can wear spiritwear, which are essentially school-branded t-shirts. for bottoms, we can wear khaki/navy skirts of a suitable length, jeans, and khaki/navy slacks/shorts. we have to wear a belt if there are belt loops, and no ripped/frayed jeans. for outerwear, we can only wear school-branded outerwear. that's mainly hoodies and sweatshirts, but you can also buy sherpas. in addition, there are thin jackets and cardigans that occasionally come into production. i've seen knitted vests and knee-length coats that have not been made for many years. some sports teams give you windbreakers or warmer outerwear. for shoes, socks, and accessories, there are no rules other than keeping it school appropriate. closed-toed shoes are required for fire safety. leggings and turtlenecks may be worn under uniforms for warmth or fashion.
My school uniform is ,navy waist coat ,navy jumper, blue and white tie with a collared long shirt with a long navy skirt and we have to wear leather shoes TvT
my core uniform is a Ugly green dress for summer, for winter is a brown skirt (or tunic for junior school) with a white blouse (or skivvy for junior school) and ugly brown tights, the boys uniform is brown pants/shorts and white shirt/t-shirt (THEY CAN WEAR PANTS OR SHORTS OR WHATEVER BUT GIRLS HAVE A WHOLE OTHER UNIFORM :C) OMG HOW COULD I FORGET THE UGLY GREEN SWEATER THING THAT IS SO ITCHY! and our sport jumper actually strangled me once it’s like a turtleneck sort of thing

I LOVE uniforms. My schools uniform is SUPER easy but really pretty. We also have this t shirt thing which we wear on the days we have games. My uniform has a white shirt, navy blue skirt/pant/shorts, white shoes and black socks, I'd cards, attendance cards for bus children, and a tie. Until 4th grade the tie is pre made and you have two diagonal white lines across. After that, the tie is a normal one without the white lines.
Why can’t we have waistcoats in our school uniforms? And/or bow ties? (That bit’s not in the video but the waistcoats thing reminded me of when me and my sister were watching Dr Who and we both agreed we wanted 11’s bow ties and either Clara’s shirt-and-jumper combinations or Jenny’s waistcoats in our uniform)
2000's were relaxed my butt. I got in trouble in first grade, FIRST GRADE, because I wore a shirt that had a Star on it IN THE EXACT SAME COLOR AS THE SHIRT. 20 years later and it still ticks me off.
at our old school we had an assembly bc too many people were not tucking their chart in, now in my current school they don’t even allow you to tuck in shirts or something
the sailor outfits are so cute! also, imo, i feel like, although i do truly enjoy dressing to my own style, i feel like it'd be easier to have a selection of different selected clothing items with the standardized sailor uniform, i think thats cute. but if they just choose cute clothing items that are timeless and vary in style, i feel like people would be more interested in school uniforms! lmk your opinion thoo
In Ireland, the colleges have uniforms for both sexes; it's the same for public and private K-12 schools. They have a look that's kind of a combination of the 60s through the 90s. When I was in Ireland, I went into shock about it.
Yeah when I saw that I thought how lucky we were to atleast not look like uh.. well like a salesperson or someone at a committee. Our uniforms are always short-sleeved blouses and plaid skirts that NEVER go above the knee or else you'll get told by the teachers. Sometimes they add neckties but that's just it. Our socks can be long or short, depends what we want. Which I guess makes sense since we have a hot climate, having thick clothes is not a way to go.
I absolutely LOVE pleated skirts, blouses, cardigans, blazers, tie-necks, neck ties, plaid, and thigh/knee high socks, so I would LOVE it if the brought back uniforms, but where you can have your "own" style of uniform style!!
Yeah I’m in a English school and we have to wear a shirt, tie, blazer, pants with black socks or a skirt with tights. We Also have to wear kickers. On the day it’s hot the Headteacher with speak through the speaker and say if we are allowed to take our blazer off, if he doesn’t we have to keep it on. I said to my mum we should just move to America
My school uniform was deep red/purple maroon coloured. At my all girls school in London. Great for those days when you sprang a leak when flo was in town.. 😳🤣 nobody noticed.. That school now has a grey uniform.
My uniform is grey too. It used to be a really cute, smart looking navy. It was half the reason i even applied 🙄😂 there was no reason to change it. It’s like they wanted us to feel ugly on purpose
1940's is my fav. But the first few seemed waaay shorter than the photos which throws off the look. 2000/2010 what??? Is this American? Haha 2010 girl looks like she's coming to your door to pick you up for Bible camp 😂
Sadly In my middle school we had to wear something similar to that. Either khakis or black formal pants with either a navy collared shirt or a white one. lol
lmao yes in my school we have a white button down blouse/shirt, black blazer with the logo, black skirt or trousers, black socks, black shoes and a navy blue tie. you can only wear stud earrings, no facial piercings, no colourful jewellery/head wear, no makeup, no painted nails and only natural coloured hair (also probably not allowed mohawks or mullets) and that's what most English school uniforms are like, we have to ask permission to take our blazers off in the summer so no polo shirts or summer uniforms 😂 edit: not even a strict catholic private school either. normal public school
my schools uniform for high school was a shirt that was literally the north korean flag... middle school was Thailand flag. we were run by Turks and in Texas which is even weirder
"Keep smiling even when times are tough" - the girl @ 3:29 reminds me of this proverb as now I am in my mid-twenties and I feel nostalgic about the tough adolescence that I went through. I realise that I could have smiled more than how much I did back then.
I'm in highschool and the uniform for boys and girls is the same. A basically sort of white shirt with a little blue tint to it and the school logos on the chest and dark navy blue pants. The shoes are coal black and ankle high. Also we have to wear our hair in braids. It can be any form or type of braid (single, double, french, dutch etc) but your hair HAS to be braided.
@@malachitemalice if you have really short hair then you can just pin it back so the hair doesn't come on your face but if you have short hair which can be tied but not braided you have to make a little ponytail yea. Just your hair has to be braided it if it's humanly possible.
@@nuggetthehamster7072 yeah there's a lot of strict policies on hair and how you present yourself. Boys can't have long hair or buzzed hair and dyed hair is like something that everyone knows is not allowed. Girls can have short hair as long as they pin it back and it doesn't come on their face. Same reason why bangs are not allowed. I really want bangs but I can't have them. Sucks sometimes.
My school uniform is sort of strict; they allow the elementary and middle schoolers to wear polos, dress shirts, or turtlenecks in a certain range of colors; same with skirts, pants, or shorts. High schoolers can wear any color and can wear patterns. I am in 8th grade and not a lot of other girls in my grade wear skirts (I wear a skirt once or twice a week)
Honestly growing up wearing uniform in the 2000s-10s this is def accurate except we were required to wear ties in middle school during elementary we didn’t have to
our uniform right is quite similar to some these. white shirt, gray pant (sometimes blue), white socks, black shoes, maroon tie, maroon belt and for the winter, maroon blazer
Lord my teachers would have has a fit and sent us to isolation if we had customized our uniforms like the 2000s. I only finished school in 2018, at a state school in England. Lord knows how they are doing their research, especially with those short skirts before the 60s.

in the high school, we have collared shirts, short and long sleeved, in our school colors with our logo. certain sports teams or other activities also give you other collared shirts with different logos. on fridays, we can wear spiritwear, which are essentially school-branded t-shirts.
for bottoms, we can wear khaki/navy skirts of a suitable length, jeans, and khaki/navy slacks/shorts. we have to wear a belt if there are belt loops, and no ripped/frayed jeans.
for outerwear, we can only wear school-branded outerwear. that's mainly hoodies and sweatshirts, but you can also buy sherpas. in addition, there are thin jackets and cardigans that occasionally come into production. i've seen knitted vests and knee-length coats that have not been made for many years. some sports teams give you windbreakers or warmer outerwear.
for shoes, socks, and accessories, there are no rules other than keeping it school appropriate. closed-toed shoes are required for fire safety. leggings and turtlenecks may be worn under uniforms for warmth or fashion.

*laughs in Chinese public schools*
My school uniform is ,navy waist coat ,navy jumper, blue and white tie with a collared long shirt with a long navy skirt and we have to wear leather shoes TvT
my core uniform is a Ugly green dress for summer, for winter is a brown skirt (or tunic for junior school) with a white blouse (or skivvy for junior school) and ugly brown tights, the boys uniform is brown pants/shorts and white shirt/t-shirt (THEY CAN WEAR PANTS OR SHORTS OR WHATEVER BUT GIRLS HAVE A WHOLE OTHER UNIFORM :C) OMG HOW COULD I FORGET THE UGLY GREEN SWEATER THING THAT IS SO ITCHY! and our sport jumper actually strangled me once it’s like a turtleneck sort of thing
the fact that the 1960’s one looks exactly like my school uniform with the same color scheme is so hilarious to me 💀

All of the girls looked so beautiful and pulled off the uniforms so well! 👏🏻

I had my school logo on my belt

At the school i went to they had to have the schools logo on them, and the school made us pay for them. It was a three strikes your expelled thing, my mom couldnt afford 150 dollars per shirt so i didnt last long there

I love the bright beautiful yellow.
Do we go to the same school?
I believe you and I went to the same school.
1980’s was my favourite I really liked the colour schemes and the side bag/satchel made it look really cute

WHY DOES THE 1970S UNIFORM LOOK LIKE EVERY SECONDARY SCHOOL UNIFORM IF IT WAS RED 💀😭😭
i like that one it cute but no in my old catholic private school has the 2010 uniform and it hella ugly
*screams in sensitive skin problems and that i will literally suffocate if i tried to wear that*
2000's were relaxed my butt. I got in trouble in first grade, FIRST GRADE, because I wore a shirt that had a Star on it IN THE EXACT SAME COLOR AS THE SHIRT. 20 years later and it still ticks me off.
I wore shirts with Shrek and onion on the back and front. No one gave a crap
I got in trouble for wearing pink shoes to school. I feel u on a spiritual level
Has anyone else gotten yelled at, at school for not having your shirt tucked in... just me? 😭
at our old school we had an assembly bc too many people were not tucking their chart in, now in my current school they don’t even allow you to tuck in shirts or something
oh?
the designs of our uniform polo were tucked in. so if we tuck it in we get scolded case apparently, it shouldn't be
I hate it when I dont have my shirt tucked in it just feels wierd to me when you leave it out xD
im with you😭
Nah Were Fine If its Not Tucked in Were fine If it is
the sailor outfits are so cute! also, imo, i feel like, although i do truly enjoy dressing to my own style, i feel like it'd be easier to have a selection of different selected clothing items with the standardized sailor uniform, i think thats cute. but if they just choose cute clothing items that are timeless and vary in style, i feel like people would be more interested in school uniforms! lmk your opinion thoo

Imao
good thing no code for us it would suck if we did
Yeah when I saw that I thought how lucky we were to atleast not look like uh.. well like a salesperson or someone at a committee.
Our uniforms are always short-sleeved blouses and plaid skirts that NEVER go above the knee or else you'll get told by the teachers. Sometimes they add neckties but that's just it. Our socks can be long or short, depends what we want. Which I guess makes sense since we have a hot climate, having thick clothes is not a way to go.
my mom doesn't let me wear skirts thats the problem in my case

Sadly In my middle school we had to wear something similar to that. Either khakis or black formal pants with either a navy collared shirt or a white one. lol
Yeah, we had to wear khakis and uniform polo shirts at my middle school.
IKR it’s the exact uniform in that film at the catholic school where the girl gets pregnant!!!
We have to wear that at my school sadly
lmao yes in my school we have a white button down blouse/shirt, black blazer with the logo, black skirt or trousers, black socks, black shoes and a navy blue tie. you can only wear stud earrings, no facial piercings, no colourful jewellery/head wear, no makeup, no painted nails and only natural coloured hair (also probably not allowed mohawks or mullets)
and that's what most English school uniforms are like, we have to ask permission to take our blazers off in the summer so no polo shirts or summer uniforms 😂

Ishika what if you have short hair? Do you just make a tiny little braid in the back with a rubber band?
What if u have a hijab?
@@malachitemalice if you have really short hair then you can just pin it back so the hair doesn't come on your face but if you have short hair which can be tied but not braided you have to make a little ponytail yea. Just your hair has to be braided it if it's humanly possible.
@@kawi6457 We don't have a lot of muslim girls in our school and the ones that are muslim don't wear a hijab generally.
