To help simplify. The compressor pressurizes the refrigerant which raises the temperature and makes it easy to get rid of the heat outside the refrigerator. The expansion device then drastically lowers the pressure which makes it very cold. It then goes into the fridge where the cold pipes now absorb the heat in the fridge. And the cycle continues.
But in this video expansion device expands pressure and temperature....and as well as the compressor device compresses....I think...in this told wrong as alternative nanner
English is not my first language, so this was not very easy for me to understand. But once I translated it I can tell you that the video is soooo informative and helpful!! Thank you so much.
@@briancooley8777 R410A is what my Air Conditioner uses. I have checked but my refrigerator doesn't use it instead it uses the old R134A. You're right about that though.

Very informative in the simplest way possible. Thank you for the upload. Pardon my ignorance but what does it mean by "when liquid condenses" at 0:38. Condensation is the conversion of gas into a liquid so isn't only gas supposed to condensate?
Journey of a refrigerant: (When liquid evaporates it absorbs heat When it condensed it releases heat Expansion device Evaporator coil Compressor Condenser coil And refrigerant) Refrigerant enters in the expansion device, pressure drops, making it expand , cool and turn into gas ( adiabatic expansion) It moves to the evaporator coil where it removes the heat from the food and absorbs it and turns hot. In the compressure , the pressure is high , the refrigerant becomes compressed raising it's temprature and turning hot.(adiabatic compression) The refrigerant then flows into the condenser coil where it releases the heat into the atmosphere cooling into a liquid(isobaric compression) It then reenters the expansion device and the cycle continues The compressor does external work on the refrigerant.

I think I understand it. When a liquid is heated, it evaporates (more room between the molecules) becoming gas. Like if you cook water enough it becomes gas. Well, this actually works the other way around too. So if you turn a liquid into a gas (by evaporating it) then it must become hotter. But heat can't just come from nowhere. So it has to take heat from its surroundings: in this case, the refrigerator. So the refrigerator loses heat to the water and less heat means it cools down. But if they just made the water do another cycle at this point, then it would still be a hot gas. If it's already hot then it won't need to take heat from its surroundings. So that wouldn't work. So what they do is they make the coils that the water travels go outside of the fridge (usually on the back). Then they make the water condense (less room between the molecules) when it leaves the fridge, which means it has to release its heat into its surroundings. But now its surroundings are the outside room rather than the fridge itself. So in essence, the fridge cools down because its heat is being displaced to the outside room via the water. And then this cycle is repeated to keep the fridge cool.
Put it like this, the vapour going through the tubes on the inside of the fridge begins absorbing the heat before being compressed on the outside, but when being compressed the heat doesn't just disappear, it has to be compressed with it, thus the vapour becomes warmer in a smaller space. Once on the outside, the outside temperature starts cooling the vapour down, and since it's compressed it has a multiplied effect, so once decompressed it ends up cooler because all the heat gets dispersed into a wider area and it reenters the fridge as a cooler vapour.

What he says is totally right...? When it evaporates, it absorbs heat. That's it. Without absorbing heat it won't evaporate, why would you say it's wrong? It's not wrong, and it doesn't confuse, at all. What does confuse is someone yelling 'WRONG' without adding why it's wrong. And no, your explanation of "it 'needs' to absorb heat" doesn't explain anything. What would be right of you to say is that one of the ways to make a liquid evaporate is to absord heat. Because it can also evaporate by e.g. lowering the atmospheric pressure.

Wait... I just explained how a fridge works to someone (according to this video), and then I realized that the compressor is *REQUIRED* to raise the pressure so that the "extraction device" can then lower the pressure... So... Nvm... XD :3
thank for useful video. I have one opinion that you should find some basic properties about the temperature, or pressure of freezer and cooler in refrigerator. And explain little about the energy consumption of a typical refrig. It would be more realistic!
I just want to know how the cooling from the freezer enters the fridge? I see US fridges have FANS/Ventelators which move the cold air, but I have never seen a fridge with a fan in europe. how do they work?
What I hardly understand is the device that drops pressure. Is it just a valve (a tight hole basically) holding back the flow, or is there something else?
You could have talked about what chemicals they use in a refrigerator, because just using water, is rather inefficient. I know they used ether or ammonia. But I don't get the whole chemical process, so please explain that part! Plus, maybe explain how a compressor works? I know what it does and all, but how does it really work?

I have a presentation that my dad gave me and I was studying so I got a bit confused and this video was magic. It was so easy to understand. THANKYOU

I always thought it was a chemical like liquid nitrogen being released into the fridge, I didn't know that it was just a liquid cooling system...
Nope, It has a Freon Gas (R134A) Refrigerant in it. Which makes the Refrigerating process much more efficient. And not Liquid Nitrogen or Water.
