Vanguard Names BlackRock Veteran Salim Ramji as Next CEO

  • Vanguard Group named Salim Ramji, who oversaw exchange-traded funds and index investing at BlackRock, as its next chief executive officer, succeeding Tim Buckley and becoming the first outsider to lead the firm famed for revolutionizing investing with the index fund.     Looks like Vanguard wants to become another Blackrock. I guess their customer service for brokerage accounts will be getting even more atrocious so as to encourage folks to move their assets to other brokers. That way Vanguard can collect the expense ratios on their ETFs and mutual funds without having to provide any customer service / administrative support at all. Why anyone would use Vanguards personal advisor services is beyond me - Vanguard clearly is not interested in providing competent customer service to individual investors.

      PAS is just a made up money maker. People could have some cash, a TDF fund and do just as well and call it a day
