It’s about a man, John, who suffers from a rare condition called Dissociative Identity Disorder (formally known as Multiple Personality Disorder). This means that his brain has fractured into multiple parts, creating multiple unique personalities that can take control. Basically, he has different people living in his head, and they can switch and take over as the dominant personality. One of his personalities is a woman, Emma. This is why we see ‘him’ dressing as a woman. When Emma, the female alter, fronts (takes control) she dresses up to make herself look more similar to how she does in their head. Emma is a completely separate person from John. You can google more stuff about this, but this is the basic explanation. @@fluffy5302 (sorry for the paragraph) no-what I can get from the alarm is that he gives his female alter time to do whatever she wants before It goes off for work and when the alarm goes off,she knows that he needs to go to work so they switch,switching don't usually work on command tho but in this short it seems like it's a positive trigger(like they use the alarm to communicate with each other and switch like if u present me candy,toys etc my little alter will come out,u look for patterns and reasons they come out so u can use those patterns to make life more normal)and I'm afraid I can't tell u any movie that best describes DID as we don't watch much movies and so far I say they show us like over exaggerated and or crazy,we can live normal lives without even letting anyone else get a clue abt us unless they know what to look for maybe(my experience, others have different experiences,not all DID people can talk/communicate with their alters, rather it's an emotional response/feeling from within)

Love this movie and is one of my favorite of Cillian’s movies. I wish a lot more people had known about it before Oppenheimer. It has an amazing cast and Cillian does what he does best in this movie.

I’m FTM and my parents hate trans people so I’d wear extra layers and style my clothes and have a more masculine demeanor at school, then try to look more feminine when I got home so they wouldn’t question me. I slipped up a few times but made it out.. now I dress androgynous for work and masculine at home

no-what I can get from the alarm is that he gives his female alter time to do whatever she wants before It goes off for work and when the alarm goes off,she knows that he needs to go to work so they switch,switching don't usually work on command tho but in this short it seems like it's a positive trigger(like they use the alarm to communicate with each other and switch like if u present me candy,toys etc my little alter will come out,u look for patterns and reasons they come out so u can use those patterns to make life more normal)and I'm afraid I can't tell u any movie that best describes DID as we don't watch much movies and so far I say they show us like over exaggerated and or crazy,we can live normal lives without even letting anyone else get a clue abt us unless they know what to look for maybe(my experience, others have different experiences,not all DID people can talk/communicate with their alters, rather it's an emotional response/feeling from within)

Love this movie and is one of my favorite of Cillian’s movies. I wish a lot more people had known about it before Oppenheimer. It has an amazing cast and Cillian does what he does best in this movie.

Idk what this is but reminds me of when I was in school. I’m FTM and my parents hate trans people so I’d wear extra layers and style my clothes and have a more masculine demeanor at school, then try to look more feminine when I got home so they wouldn’t question me. I slipped up a few times but made it out.. now I dress androgynous for work and masculine at home

It may be a low bar for some but these times of open hostilities and violence, tolerance is all I wish for or expect. It is a learning process and so it is at different rates. It will eventually work out to acceptance of all of us.
