The thing with the Lantern ring not vanishing. Its more likely the writers just straight up didnt know that mechanism. Because the ring is also supposed to choose the user, and the user is not just immediately capable of manifesting a giant shark so easily. Poor research explains all of this.
I don't know Lantern lore, but shouldn't the ring have also left John while under mind control? Shouldn't it be able to recognize that the ring bearer is no longer in a state of worthiness? Can the ring be controlled by Brainiac to stay put?

From what I've been hearing, the issue most people have with Batman's death isn't that it's Harley Quinn that killed him. It's the same issue I've been hearing they have with the rest of the League's deaths: they feel completely disrespectful to the characters, and that's a sentiment I agree with. Except for Wonder Woman, the Justice League dies in ways that feel completely hollow, meaningless, and even insulting, to the point where their corpses are pretty much desecrated (or close to it) in some cases. The Flash dies and Captain Boomerang goes to literally piss on his body, and while the others (maybe?) stopped him from doing it, they're all too busy commenting on Captain Boomerang's dong size to let the meoment be serious, wven though it should be serious. Green Lantern is killed, stripped naked, and left to rot, while his finger gets severed to get at his ring so King Shark can play with it. Batman is preached to by Harley about how he's a terrible person who's caused more harm than good before unceremoniously shooting him in the face. Meanwhile, even though Wonder Woman got the most brutal death, she's still the only person who got a heroic sendoff, and her death was treated as a serious and somber moment by the writers and even the Squad themselves. The way killing off these heroes is handled poorly, and you can't even say its because the protags are villains, because again, Wonder Woman was treated with respect when she died, but they're outright insulting and belittling everyone else just because. Hell, when they fight Superman, the S Squad gets VISIBLY UPSET at him for bringing up Wonder Woman's death to mock them. At best, it's unintentionally inconsistent, and at worst, it's a blatant bias by the writing team demonstrating that there's only one character in the Justice League that deserved to have an honorable death or respected following their death.

A lot of shit also just doesn't make sense at all. How is the shark able to just put on a dead lanterns ring and use it instantly? Why would Batman allow Harley to use his gadgets? Why would Batman allow those gadgets the SS uses to be in the museum and fully functional so that any random person that decided to break in could use them? I get that the SS doesn't like the heros, but to the point of almost pissing on the Flash, and chopping his finger off is crazy disrespectful. Batman is one of if not the best tactician in DC, why is he sitting back taunting the SS instead of lurking in the shadows actively sabotaging their plans? There's so many dumb ass calls made in this game. The disrespect is a whole other story.
I definitely think a batman beyond game would have been the perfect send off for the Arkham series & Kevin Conroy's legacy being passed on metaphorically

Rocksteady was working on a multiplayer game until WB hand them the license to the game and it’s believed SweetBaby Inc stepped in about after 4 years of development and they are credited for “working on the script of the game voice logs character backgrounds and diverse representation” which is why Dead Shot is now a different race with no explanation. Who knows how much control they had. There are projects that are coming out on Xbox that SweetBaby inc has full control of so it’s possible they had full control of the script for this game they also had full control on the script for Saints row reboot and that game in someways strikes a lot of familiar cords in my opinion

The thing to remember is this is not the same rocksteady, different employees and essentially a different studio and imo as someone who does care about Arkham and just Batman in general the writers for this game clearly did not have much respect for the Arkham universe or really any of the league members besides Wonder Woman it seems like, yes her death was “worse” but it was presented as sad whereas the others were made into jokes or in the case of Batman a speech from a character that has quite literally been taken out in one hit, and bested by Tim Drake who is the least skilled combat wise when it comes to robins (he’s not unskilled just the worst of the best if we’re talking fighting skills) but it shows how absurd it is that Harley is the one that took out Batman, and furthermore that the squad even stood a chance against the league, but at the end of the day it’s just bizarre that they connected it to Arkham when they obviously weren’t concerned with sustaining the legacy of Arkham at least that’s how it seems to me and not to mention sweet baby inc. was involved… if you know you know (sorry for the novel💀)

Batman Beyond absolutely deserves a game adaptation. I saw a TikTok comment on a SS:KTJL video just saying this should've been a Teen Titans game featuring Arkham Dick Grayson to better connect the game to the previous series. Wouldn't be a shooter then, but also I don't think anyone was too hype for this being a shooter anyways.
No one was really hyped for this being a shooter TBH. In fact, when it was revealed to be a shooter, THAT was the biggest complaint I saw for the gameplay.

Even a Batman has to use contingency plans to stop brainwashed Justice League and then surprise twist we play as some if the JL would have been cool. Batman in unfamiliar Metropolis, maybe he uses help from Waller’s squad. So many ways this game could have been better. Step 1 it not chasing the live service microtransactions battlepass garbage.
Between this and MK1's botched monetization, WB Games seem to be swinging and missing 24/7. And it's a huge shame if Rocksteady dies because of the suits at Warner demanding a live service looter shooter that was rushed and entering a saturated market (D2, Borderlands, Warframe, RoR2, etc.).

Batman does die but it's near end game & it's to save Harley Quinn who had been redeemed as she witnesses Batman being a good man & realizing her impression was tainted by the Joker. Batman dying to save her (or whomever you choose to play as), a villain is the final piece of Harley (or Kingshark, Deadshot, Boomerang) redemption. Then you fight Braniac and save the Justice League by killing clones of each member that Braniac creates or manifests within his different iterations (Braniac can exist as multiple shells each containing a piece of his consciousness). Finale is the Bat Family mourning together with Justice League & Suic1de Squad at Bruce's tomb.
I dont know a single thing about this game. But the Batman death scene would have hit way harder if it had been Batman's idea to be killed to bring out Supes. The exchange would still make sense, and Harley killing him would work too since she's got the most personal history so feels she has to be the one to do it.

The acting is top notch and the animation of the cut scenes is pretty damned good. That’s the best thing I can say about the game. The story ignores all of that previous lore, makes an absolute nonsense of the EXTREME lengths Batman went to in his previous game, simply retconning his complete flip flop and deciding to join the Justice League. Then, the utter disrespect they showed these beloved characters, and especially the beloved actor who played Batman one last time before dying. His exit was shameful. It’s like Rocksteady suddenly decided they hate the very characters that built their company and hate gamers! . . . ? . . . I just don’t get it? Who thought any of this would, “please,” ANY fans? And the copy and paste enemies make the gameplay boring and repetitive. I hope endgame theories confirms that the proper justice league returns, and things go back to normal. the theory is because the flash's finger returns which he isn't able to do on his own, and superman survived the kryptonite to his heart which has been commented by WW should have killed him, brianiac has a bunch of pods with clones of the justice league (except WW cuz.. yk), so end game when all dlc characters are available and we kill the last brainiac, the justice league of the arkham verse will return and things will go back to normal.
Another problem is they could have just had a suicide squad game and not had the justice league in at all like Maybe have a Batman cameo to put Amanda Waller in her place. The circumstances aren't different, both CP77 and No Man's Sky were boring snoozefests at launch, same as this game. That hasn't changed, but gamers are so stupid they'll see any minute improvement as a "Redemption story". If CP77 had launched in it's current state, people wouldn't stop whining about how bland a dumbed down it is, same as they did with Fallout 4.
The attention to the lore, king shark, picking up Green Lantern‘s ring in fully utilizing it. No, that’s not how the ring works. If you want a good “justice league gets mind warped to evil” watch justice league vs teen titans animated movie. Unlike this games story they treat our hero’s with respect and they actually get SAVED. Instead of just outright shot and killed.
I dont get why they would undermind arkam trilogy and origins with this being in arkam verse doesn't make sense, it's like Warner never knows to stick with one image/vision plan...

This game is certainly an "I'll wait for a steep discount later on in the year." Such a shame, let's hope the Wonder Woman game coming from Monolith soon (hopefully) is less of a disaster.

Green Lanter’s ring kinda confuses me. The ring should actively disallow Jon to be able to harm innocents. And I’m not talking about the Suicide Squad. I mean the citizens. The ring isn’t like the Red Lantern Corps which allows bloodshed. The Green Lantern ring should stop Jon from that. Probably even leave Jon if I remember correctly the way the ring works
Indeed John would be powerless and if his ring did allow for such murders we shouldve seen another green latern as lore wise they wouldve been alereted and the guardians would want that stopped asap but they refused to read comics for further insight as ive come to find out

I don’t want the JL to die but if you want the narrative that the JL is entirely dead, then having an unbrainwashed John fight against Brainiac is a better idea so it provides a bit more actuality to lore instead of the refusal to keep to the lore of a Lantern Ring.

Clicking on "Browse All Reviews" shows me that more recent reviews have been negative and...actually have content to them and aren't just blind, blank reviews. Others that sound especially reasonable urge people to wait for a sale as it's current state of optimization is not that good. Meanwhile most of the positives say it's "fun gameplay", "fun traversal", "fun gun", "fun shooty" or a variation of "Good brainless shooter", "I love looter shooters", "pew pew", "don't listen to haters", "step on me mommy WW". Some are, oddly enough, echoing criticisms found in negative reviews but still recommending the game. All in all, this is better experienced on a deep sale (80% off or more) and with no connection to the Arkham games whatsoever no matter what James Gunn wishes (he apparently wants his DC multiverse interconnected or whatever).
If you see Sweet Baby Inc. is involved in a game, you can automatically know that the game will be trash. Sweet Baby is today's LJN. LJN, for context, was an infamous game company that made shitty licensed games during the NES and SNES eras of gaming.

The thing with the Lantern ring not vanishing. Its more likely the writers just straight up didnt know that mechanism. Because the ring is also supposed to choose the user, and the user is not just immediately capable of manifesting a giant shark so easily. Poor research explains all of this.
I don't know Lantern lore, but shouldn't the ring have also left John while under mind control? Shouldn't it be able to recognize that the ring bearer is no longer in a state of worthiness? Can the ring be controlled by Brainiac to stay put?

From what I've been hearing, the issue most people have with Batman's death isn't that it's Harley Quinn that killed him. It's the same issue I've been hearing they have with the rest of the League's deaths: they feel completely disrespectful to the characters, and that's a sentiment I agree with. Except for Wonder Woman, the Justice League dies in ways that feel completely hollow, meaningless, and even insulting, to the point where their corpses are pretty much desecrated (or close to it) in some cases. The Flash dies and Captain Boomerang goes to literally piss on his body, and while the others (maybe?) stopped him from doing it, they're all too busy commenting on Captain Boomerang's dong size to let the meoment be serious, wven though it should be serious. Green Lantern is killed, stripped naked, and left to rot, while his finger gets severed to get at his ring so King Shark can play with it. Batman is preached to by Harley about how he's a terrible person who's caused more harm than good before unceremoniously shooting him in the face. Meanwhile, even though Wonder Woman got the most brutal death, she's still the only person who got a heroic sendoff, and her death was treated as a serious and somber moment by the writers and even the Squad themselves. The way killing off these heroes is handled poorly, and you can't even say its because the protags are villains, because again, Wonder Woman was treated with respect when she died, but they're outright insulting and belittling everyone else just because. Hell, when they fight Superman, the S Squad gets VISIBLY UPSET at him for bringing up Wonder Woman's death to mock them. At best, it's unintentionally inconsistent, and at worst, it's a blatant bias by the writing team demonstrating that there's only one character in the Justice League that deserved to have an honorable death or respected following their death.

A lot of shit also just doesn't make sense at all. How is the shark able to just put on a dead lanterns ring and use it instantly? Why would Batman allow Harley to use his gadgets? Why would Batman allow those gadgets the SS uses to be in the museum and fully functional so that any random person that decided to break in could use them? I get that the SS doesn't like the heros, but to the point of almost pissing on the Flash, and chopping his finger off is crazy disrespectful. Batman is one of if not the best tactician in DC, why is he sitting back taunting the SS instead of lurking in the shadows actively sabotaging their plans? There's so many dumb ass calls made in this game. The disrespect is a whole other story.
I definitely think a batman beyond game would have been the perfect send off for the Arkham series & Kevin Conroy's legacy being passed on metaphorically

Nah it’s sweet baby INC which is a feminist writing company that writes games. They could’ve taken a whole different approach with this game but ofc they made it to sht on the male characters and clown their deaths and make Wonder Woman the only one to not be corrupted and gave her a sad death.

Rocksteady was working on a multiplayer game until WB hand them the license to the game and it’s believed SweetBaby Inc stepped in about after 4 years of development and they are credited for “working on the script of the game voice logs character backgrounds and diverse representation” which is why Dead Shot is now a different race with no explanation.
Who knows how much control they had. There are projects that are coming out on Xbox that SweetBaby inc has full control of so it’s possible they had full control of the script for this game
they also had full control on the script for Saints row reboot and that game in someways strikes a lot of familiar cords in my opinion

I think it's funny that people often compare this game to Destiny or Borderlands when it's basically a Sunset Overdrive ripoff.
The thing to remember is this is not the same rocksteady, different employees and essentially a different studio and imo as someone who does care about Arkham and just Batman in general the writers for this game clearly did not have much respect for the Arkham universe or really any of the league members besides Wonder Woman it seems like, yes her death was “worse” but it was presented as sad whereas the others were made into jokes or in the case of Batman a speech from a character that has quite literally been taken out in one hit, and bested by Tim Drake who is the least skilled combat wise when it comes to robins (he’s not unskilled just the worst of the best if we’re talking fighting skills) but it shows how absurd it is that Harley is the one that took out Batman, and furthermore that the squad even stood a chance against the league, but at the end of the day it’s just bizarre that they connected it to Arkham when they obviously weren’t concerned with sustaining the legacy of Arkham at least that’s how it seems to me and not to mention sweet baby inc. was involved… if you know you know (sorry for the novel💀)

Batman Beyond absolutely deserves a game adaptation.
I saw a TikTok comment on a SS:KTJL video just saying this should've been a Teen Titans game featuring Arkham Dick Grayson to better connect the game to the previous series. Wouldn't be a shooter then, but also I don't think anyone was too hype for this being a shooter anyways.
No one was really hyped for this being a shooter TBH. In fact, when it was revealed to be a shooter, THAT was the biggest complaint I saw for the gameplay.

We cannot use the "Alternate Dimensions" idea since this game already used that, so the best method would be to have Harley Quinn awakening in the Batcave, having been cured of the Scarecrow's fear toxin by Nightwing (similar to Barbara's experience in BTAS). In this scenario, she comes to the realization that the entire sequence of events - from Brainiac's domination of the world to her alliance with villains against heroes - was merely a vivid dream she had experienced.

Between this and MK1's botched monetization, WB Games seem to be swinging and missing 24/7. And it's a huge shame if Rocksteady dies because of the suits at Warner demanding a live service looter shooter that was rushed and entering a saturated market (D2, Borderlands, Warframe, RoR2, etc.).
When the corpos take something they think is cool and be like, "Harley Quinn's edgy and cool hu? Don't you want to give us money?" She loses all cool factor.

The Squad could've worked too...if Batman escaped with Flash. Those two team up with Waller & recruit the Squad. They don't actually kill the Justice League members cuz Batman has a way to neutralize each of them, effectively capturing them & taking away their powers. Batman does die but it's near end game & it's to save Harley Quinn who had been redeemed as she witnesses Batman being a good man & realizing her impression was tainted by the Joker. Batman dying to save her (or whomever you choose to play as), a villain is the final piece of Harley (or Kingshark, Deadshot, Boomerang) redemption. Then you fight Braniac and save the Justice League by killing clones of each member that Braniac creates or manifests within his different iterations (Braniac can exist as multiple shells each containing a piece of his consciousness). Finale is the Bat Family mourning together with Justice League & Suic1de Squad at Bruce's tomb.

I dont know a single thing about this game. But the Batman death scene would have hit way harder if it had been Batman's idea to be killed to bring out Supes. The exchange would still make sense, and Harley killing him would work too since she's got the most personal history so feels she has to be the one to do it.

The acting is top notch and the animation of the cut scenes is pretty damned good. That’s the best thing I can say about the game. The story ignores all of that previous lore, makes an absolute nonsense of the EXTREME lengths Batman went to in his previous game, simply retconning his complete flip flop and deciding to join the Justice League.
Then, the utter disrespect they showed these beloved characters, and especially the beloved actor who played Batman one last time before dying. His exit was shameful. It’s like Rocksteady suddenly decided they hate the very characters that built their company and hate gamers! . . . ? . . . I just don’t get it? Who thought any of this would, “please,” ANY fans?
And the copy and paste enemies make the gameplay boring and repetitive.
Sometimes I think these investment companies are deliberately sabotaging their companies, maybe to declare bankruptcy and walk away with stacks of cash? Who knows? But adults did not write this thinking it would do well.

I hope endgame theories confirms that the proper justice league returns, and things go back to normal. the theory is because the flash's finger returns which he isn't able to do on his own, and superman survived the kryptonite to his heart which has been commented by WW should have killed him, brianiac has a bunch of pods with clones of the justice league (except WW cuz.. yk), so end game when all dlc characters are available and we kill the last brainiac, the justice league of the arkham verse will return and things will go back to normal.
Even if the Justice league come back,they cant erase their deaths!

The circumstances aren't different, both CP77 and No Man's Sky were boring snoozefests at launch, same as this game. That hasn't changed, but gamers are so stupid they'll see any minute improvement as a "Redemption story". If CP77 had launched in it's current state, people wouldn't stop whining about how bland a dumbed down it is, same as they did with Fallout 4.

This game is certainly an "I'll wait for a steep discount later on in the year." Such a shame, let's hope the Wonder Woman game coming from Monolith soon (hopefully) is less of a disaster.
Or never buy it at all because that money will still go to the creators of this trash and why would you waste your time playing this when you could be playing much better games

Considering what arkham knight was they screwed up on replayability!
segmented the dlc on a non-congruent nature, didn't weaponize no other batmobiles for the story and imbalanced the gameplay with too much batmobile instead of making it doable from both angles
All single player games should concentrate on having new game+++

Green Lanter’s ring kinda confuses me. The ring should actively disallow Jon to be able to harm innocents. And I’m not talking about the Suicide Squad. I mean the citizens. The ring isn’t like the Red Lantern Corps which allows bloodshed. The Green Lantern ring should stop Jon from that. Probably even leave Jon if I remember correctly the way the ring works
Indeed John would be powerless and if his ring did allow for such murders we shouldve seen another green latern as lore wise they wouldve been alereted and the guardians would want that stopped asap but they refused to read comics for further insight as ive come to find out

I don’t want the JL to die but if you want the narrative that the JL is entirely dead, then having an unbrainwashed John fight against Brainiac is a better idea so it provides a bit more actuality to lore instead of the refusal to keep to the lore of a Lantern Ring.

@@redthewifeyhunter4034 in my opinion i think they should've done hal not because i dislike John but it implies hal is dead and I do like John better but I feel they should've allowed it to be some sort of self sacrifice like it make sense lore wise braniac would try to kill them after there mind control is broken plus you could even say they're tired after there fights with the squad

This game actually has pretty good ratings on steam. It's interesting thought it would be more one sided than it is.
The most recent review is a negative. The one next to that is a positive saying "wait for a discount". Clicking on "Browse All Reviews" shows me that more recent reviews have been negative and...actually have content to them and aren't just blind, blank reviews. Others that sound especially reasonable urge people to wait for a sale as it's current state of optimization is not that good.
Meanwhile most of the positives say it's "fun gameplay", "fun traversal", "fun gun", "fun shooty" or a variation of "Good brainless shooter", "I love looter shooters", "pew pew", "don't listen to haters", "step on me mommy WW". Some are, oddly enough, echoing criticisms found in negative reviews but still recommending the game.
All in all, this is better experienced on a deep sale (80% off or more) and with no connection to the Arkham games whatsoever no matter what James Gunn wishes (he apparently wants his DC multiverse interconnected or whatever).

You started the review by saying you upset at the direction they took because of the arkham series. I have seen to many reviewers upset about that purely but who cares gotham knights was for worse the handling of batman this one ends the arkham universe with batman but why does that matter after we all understood it was finished with arkham knight. To cry about how it handles tieing in and the direction that just means you expected and wanted a diffrent story I don't feel your taking the game for what it is and the story they chose not the one you hoped for
