    Compact DIY digital synthesizer kit.
    The Korg Nu:Tekt Synthesizer is a solder-free synthesizer kit designed for users who like to get hands-on with building. The Nu:Tekt Synthesizer comes with a digital oscillator providing a range of waveforms. There is a total of four waveforms on offer including saw, triangle, square and VPM. You can even create your own waveforms for added versatility. It also features onboard effects such as digital delay, reverb and modulation.
    This pocket-sized DIY synth also offers an analogue-modelled multimode filter, ideal for sound design. It even features an envelope generator and arpeggiator for creating rhythms and patterns. The mini keyboard allows you to play and demo sounds. The Nu:Tekt is also compatible with the 'Logue series oscillators and effects to take it to the next level.

    What effects you used in part 5:38 ? ....is it only reverb or you used multiple effects at the same time??.... is hard to see with the red light... i can see chorus but im not sure if you are using multiple effects together.

    I just got this little box. Amazing, but for some reason the 'Waves' custom oscillator didn't come preinstalled. Any idea on how to grab it and load? Thanks

    What cable are you using to connect the larger keyboard to the NTS-1? Is it a standard 5-pin to TRS cable?

      I'm trying to find the answer to this as well.

    • @kafuprfin
      @kafuprfin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s 3,5 jack cable

    • @compulof
      @compulof 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kafuprfin type A or Type B?

    • @DRHORSELEACH
      @DRHORSELEACH 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, that's not nearly specific enough. They make 3.5 to midi cables that are for vintage speakers that DO NOT transmit midi data.

    • @modularmuse
      @modularmuse 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It takes a MIDI Type A: DIN to 3.5mm male TRS. Type B won't work.

    is it not possible to listen to the 4 analog voices of the minilogue + the digital voice of the nu tekt?

    • @stephenshumaker8444
      @stephenshumaker8444 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm trying to figure that out as well. With the kit shown in this video, I don't think it is possible. Instead you would get a bi-timbrel synth (the NTS-1 would play the same notes as the Minilogue, but perhaps they could be octaved down or something). However, imagine this setup: Minilogue + NTS-1 + midi controller (such as Arturia Keystep). Route audio out from the Minilogue and the NTS-1 separately. Play two handed, with one hand on the Minilogue keyboard and the other on the Keystep keyboard (or use sequencers on each). This way, you would hear all voices separately, effectively you are just playing two instruments simultaneously, and can play different notes on each. I can't think of a way to hear all voices separately with only a single keyboard...

    Would I be able to plug in a guitar and use the NTS-1 as an effects pedal?

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possible but for it to be useful you need to control it by hand so I would look elsewhere

      These effects give you a range of reverbs, modulation and delays to play with and they can all be blended and edited how you want. PMT Online

    • @DocBolus
      @DocBolus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep, they are stacked in a specific order and you can route the signal in to any point in that chain. It goes Mod, Delay, Reverb

    He fails to mention that to use the midi input you need a not just a 3.5 to midi cable BUT a Special one. And Korg DONT supply you with one. My Arturia beatstep cable wont work and ONLY a Korg one will according to Nick Batt of Sonic State. They dont mention this AND you cant find ANY reference to it or a place to buy one on the Korg site. Why do they do shit like this.

    • @MrSlipstreem
      @MrSlipstreem 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As it states in the MIDI implementation chart referenced in the kit manual, the NTS-1 uses a Type A cable. Type A is no more special than the Type B used for the Beatstep. It's just the older of the standards used for this kind of cable. As Type A came first, you could blame Type B for being "special". ;-)

      I don't know what exactly are you talking about. It's a TRS Midi, not the old DIN Midi... All new devices come with this, you basically use a stereo jack patch cable and boom, it works. Unlucky if you have type B devices, but even after that, it's just a LEFTRIGHT stereo switch...

    • @OhRaez
      @OhRaez 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hate when they do this. I'm a bit of a noob, and I don't know how to even use my M1 as a MIDI controller for a synth I own, if it's even possible. Nobody explains this stuff on here. They just say something like "you can use it as a MIDI controller too!!!! WOWW!!! Anyway...."

    • @___xyz___
      @___xyz___ ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, midi TRS type B are the bastards here. Someone knew that the industry was working on adapting the midi TRS standard as type A, and decided to make something that wouldn't work with anything else just to take the piss (and potentially get people to draw the conclusion you drew), effectively fragmenting the market and making it difficult for the users, now doomed to fight among themselves.
