Logan’s last words, as he lay on the side of the road, seriously injured and bleeding, were to the police officer who was administering first aid to him. They demonstrate his true character and selflessness. He asked, “Is my friend ok?” Coroner Report (2021)
Logan was loved by his family and friends. Logan had a sister who was twelve when he died and an older brother. The lives of his siblings and his mother are irreparably affected by Logan’s death, as are those of his other family, his loved ones and friends. Coroner Report (2021)
Are you serious, this numbnut stole a vehicle and got his friend killed in the process not to mention all the lives he put at risk. My god they are treating him like he was a saint, dude was a shitbag that now has to live the rest of his life knowing he killed his best friend. He better see jail time for manslaughter charges.

You're kidding me, right? Let me just correct that statement a little bit. "True character": A car thief who had complete disregard for the safety of anybody & everybody around him. He could have killed so many people by his reckless actions, instead of stopping and handing himself over to Police. That grub's "true character" is underscored by the fact he only stopped when he crashed.
Next. "Selflessness". The only act of selflessness this individual showed was when he died, thus saving the taxpayer a huge ongoing sum to incarcerate him now & all the other expenses he would have incurred over his life.

The initial chase had officers hesitant to do 20km/h over the limit on quiet streets, yet the second chase they were doing 150kph, wrong side of the road in busy areas...

No sympathy for the deceased. The break and enter and thieving in company was bad enough (I'm sure they'd have harmed occupants if inside), stealing two vehicles, throwing items at police driving behind with intent to injure them and/or disable their vehicle, items becoming a dangerous collision risk for others, the severe risk of death and/or serious injury to law abiding motorists and pedestrians. They stole out of greed and selfishness and acted violently. If they'd evaded police it would have been high fives, laughter and more narcissistic bravado and they'd do the same or worse. This deceased male can no longer be a risk to others. Being 17, he was still considered a juvenile, so inevitably a slap on the wrist court outcome anyway. Kiddies court is the revolving door of Justice. He asked how his friend was - not a sign of strength of character. Rubbish. Just a line used by the coroner to placate the parents. Happy no innocents were injured. Hope the household and vehicles were insured.

As a motorcyclist myself I can confirm that our ability to use our ears and hear things that are going on around us is really what helps keep us safe. I imagine he turned off his siren so he could hear the other units sirens(to locate the pursuit and know if he is heading in the correct direction), plus listen to the sound of the radio, his bike(always listen to what it’s telling you) and the surroundings, to safety continue.
I think that is perfectly reasonable.

Obviously law enforcement professionals swearing etc is not acceptable, however, I feel like we do have to cut him some slack.
Putting myself in his shoes, the Adrenalin is pumping, you know there is a crazy pursuit happening, your senses are on really high alert(being not only in a high speed chase, but on a bike), and your senses are overwhelmed with focusing on survival and the job. Obviously he was focused on what was happening, and didn’t have the brain power devoted to censoring himself and what he was saying. A kind of situation where it just slips out in the heat of battle. And I know if it was me who was being sworn at, I’d give that officer a free pass knowing that he’s putting his life on the line for the community without a second thought.
I can also sleep well at night knowing that with all the noise, sirens and chaos going on around them, the driver probably didn’t hear the swearing anyway…
