"To Build A Tomb" is one of my favorite Sylosis songs! Question - Did you learn anything from your time with Architects that you're now applying to Sylosis? Could be anything from production, certain techniques, marketing strategies, or just helpful advice.
@@foreverSylosis777 oof, lucky guy. Previous Jackson Rhoads model is still slightly superior for my taste, but this one has a special place in my heart because of it's unique design 🥵
As a producer and metal musician, what are your thoughts on remixes of older albums? For instance Dimmu Borgir's Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia or Pantera's Reinventing Steel? Love your music!
Josh, I just came across an album. And the band is called passages. Can you expand on this and explain because the music is fantastic. I tried to look up any information about it and there’s nothing out there.
AJFA (x2) 1. Since you're naturally a lefty, would you consider advocating for a lefty version of your signature model? 2. Do you prefer Ceramic or Alnico bridge pickups? (I know you've alternated over the years.) Have you tried "mixed magnet" pickups with both (like the BKP "Juggernauts", MojoTone "Tomahawk" (Gen 1), "Black Magic", or "Hellbender" set, etc.)? *Btw, that "chirp" sound could possibly be from the Fishman pickups.. The "chirp" on the pick attack and "whomp" at the end of a palm-mute is why I gave my Fluence H/S set away after one day of trying, and now use a custom "81/85 hybrid" (prototype).*
Is there a line of thinking behind the random single releases you've done or are they just something you enjoyed but just dont fit on an album? And being that Different Masks on the Same Face is one of my favorite tracks you've ever done(feels ultra dark), is that dark, aggressive feel something you've ever wanted to do more of?
Josh! A few questions.. 1. Have you tried Duncan "Blackouts"? (The OG set is like an 81/85 set with the 18v mod, but with less noise.. Then the new "Damocles" set is made specifically for D to C# tuning, the "Alt. Metal" (AHB-3) set is aimed for C to A tuning, the Blackouts "Metal" (AHB-2) has 2 modes of built-in Overdrive, and the Jeff Loomis set is like the EMG 57/66, but for shredders, with more output and mids.. Plus, there's the Livewire sets, and the Duality set). 2. Did you record anything with the Krankenstein that you had while recording Cycle of Suffering? 3. Since you like 5150/6505's, AND you used to use modded Marshalls.. Have you considered the EVH 5150IIIS EL34 100 watt? It's really like mixing an EVH Stealth (or a boosted 5150/XXX blend) with an ultra-modded JCM800. I think you'd really like it. 4. What strings are you using now that you're in C# (brand and gauge)?
On the song descent going into the line “losing sleep on a blank page” your voice goes really low and rough, not quite sure how to describe it. Is there a chance of you using it again? Sounds so cool.
This is extreme minutia. The advantage of stainless steel is durability. Stainless steel frets (as long as the fretwork done was quality, consistent, and clean across the neck) will never need to be redone and will not wear within your lifetime at the very least. Any tonal difference is either placebo or so small that the jury will always be out if it’s actually the frets making the difference, or any other part of the guitars construction or setup.
I personally noticed a “sharper” sound acoustically with the stainless frets the first time I played one, and it was very noticeable. Now, I don’t notice as much when I go back and forth
Hey Josh...I'm using both STL Josh Middleton and STL AmpHub and when I play the standalone version it sounds "rich and bright",but when I use it on Cubase it sounds "thin, with no air and unnatural" like it's only a mid based tone. Do you have any idea why that happens ? I need to mention that I use the same presets and in Cubase I'm in mono channel, mono input and everything and gained staged properly.
Hi, Josh! I have a question regarding guitar techique. How do you move palm muted power chords without having these annoying squeaks?

You right now have exactly 51500 subscribers on TH-cam. What a beautiful number 🎉
What drumming software do you use and do you have a preset?

How did you stop drinking and steer your focus more into what's important (i.e. priorities, etc.) Was it hard to do?
A lot of metal bands are coming to south america this last couple of years, did you ever consider to tour here?
Cheers
A Floyd Rose version of the JM-II would be awesome, just saying
I'm new to the nerdy world of guitar specs, why are Floyd Roses desirable ?

How do you feel about Monolith all these years later? It was my most listened to album in High school
Hi Josh, are you familiar with LANDMVRKS? Can you do a Tone Reaction and try to recreate it?
How did you develop your fretting hand accuracy?

Question, since you love diamond inlays why not have them on your LTD sig?
Have you played an EVH Iconic head? What are your thoughts on it?

Can you hear any difference between stainless steel and nickle frets?
Good question
@Guitarist19887 Is it really though?

maybee kHz or bitrate is different in DAW and standalone(?)
@@henrybuschman6361 I checked the sample rate and it's the same. I thought maybe the input has a difference but I checked it and it's also the same.
