I decided to try augmenting a low tier piece of armor because I heard it had a higher point value for skills. I got furious 3 on my jaggi arms and kept the 2 points of attack with 1, 1 slots. A lot of the skills I need for charge blade are on arms. But this new charm system will hopefully make those gloves more than useful lol
As a CB main my self, here to clear the air a bit. Dont waist time or slots on Gurad up in this game. Havent even slotted it in since early base rise. And barely ise guard at all on my builds, embolden is seriously stong, 2 is like 3 guard and 3 embolden is 5 guard, before you charge your sheild for 2 more guard just guard point, and your great its alot easier also. Just guard and press X right before contact with your sheild,most if the time you can throw the monster off balance or get stun a bit as well
Main reason i recommend guard is cuz its 4 points using 2 of your level 3 slots (a bargain relatively early in sunbreak). Only conflicting decorations are the element decos and those are extremely versatile. Embolden is 3 level 2 slots slots until this update, making it more expensive on most armors. 3 guard covers most pre elder dragon mons. Once you hit mr 5+, guard 4+ becomes more valuable. Dial up and down as necessary but you have the space to run it at 4.
I would argue that embolden is much easier to run if you are solely play solo. playing in multiplayer is pretty hard to get the monster to constantly target you.
for all those with lots of qurio aug essence and money, try augmenting the chaotic gore helm for minus 1 crit eye and + 1 dragon conversion, it becomes better than valstrax helm as it has strife and elem exploit with same slots (this is considering only super spam, for spinning axe the val helm might still be better)
I'll fix it once i get home. (Crop out that false statement). Not mentioned in the video, but level 1 is 35 seconds before activation and level 2 onwards is 20.
i was looking at spinning axe builds, and i feel like with weapons that have inherent affinity like gore, astalos, rakna, etc., it might be better to use the arms instead of the coil. then if you have a agitator talisman you can max that out for the affinity and that practically lets you reach max crit. then instead of the coil u could use something like scorned magna coil for mail of hellfire and coalescence.
For non dereliction builds, arms are entirely on the table. Still messing around with builds tbh. I dont mess with mail of hellfire cuz it makes you easier to one shot. Archfiend makes you heal more, but you could still tank a fair number of attacks.
@@greadyknight feel that. only reason im running this mail is because a lotta hunts i dont rlly take any dmg or get afflicted by qurio blight to lifesteal, so my hp ends up being low and then i gotta heal just to make sure i dont get oneshot accidentally.
In the element ultra spam section, you mention off-meta is best done with f.jang arms and c.gore legs. Wouldn't something like g.rath gloves and r.shags legs be better for the expanded slot options? The only benefit I can see to the c.gore legs is the full coal, and gold rath gloves gets built in burst and much better slots at the cost of crit eye 2?
You run furious rajang arms for furious. You can augment for 2 levels, only needing a 3rd on another piece. As for Virtue greaves, you are right. They are better. You can augment for furious by cutting frenzy bloodlust, getting the trinity of bloodlust, strife and furious on one piece. And the slots are good. You should have 1 free augment and any charm you want with this modified set up.

How do u read the document? I built my Switch Axes frm the document linked underneath yours in the meta listing, but I'm having trouble following the Charge Blade document. TU5 example, there is the grid wit the playstyle, the armour pieces and then the augments. But what decoration u put? Or we use the decorations at the Sunbreak Endgame (BASE) section? Can u add gamecat builder links? Off-topic but I found it very funny going frm the SwAx document which I was able 2 pick up and follow pretty easily, then going in the Charge Blade document nd being super confused (exactly how I felt when I picked up the weapon itself!) Was working through the damage section, but once that is done, gamercat versions of builds will be included for the tu builds I should prolly reword some stuff to emphasize the purpose of each build. But element is the goal for endgame. Progression is usually raw/status builds until you beat gaismagorm, then you dive into the element rabbit hole.
Monsters that are mobile require more prediction (and generally prevents you from pumping out too many supers). Not impossible to use, but its not an advantageous matchup Monsters with noodle bodies make it hard to aim supers cuz they just turn and you miss 3 phials. Morphing advance usage needs to be on point.
Hey Gready, what do you think about Tigrex charge blade for hybrid impact phial gameplay? Is the purple sharpness worth the negative affinity and lower base raw? The lower slot count can be accounted for by not requiring Handicraft skill.
Working on the math rn, but you can make it work. The latest meta set gets 85 affinity when all of the skills are active. Razor sharp basically doubles sharpness, so tigrex's 30 + 20 units (post slot augment) becomes 100 hits of purple.

What gear do you recommend instead of the 3 valstrax. I am considering using 3 Nephilim (head, chest, legs ) and 2 archfiend (arms and boots) just as I used in TU3. Augment for 3 furious and 2 useful skills like element exploit. The new shagaru magala chest is also tempting then another helm or leg can be used accordingly. Any tips are appreciated.
I have also Talisman with DC and i asked this question on reddit.They said it's better to keep Epoch gear because they are designed to hold more hard element resistances thus giving more damage.The skills to aim for in talisman and gear are Furious or Strife.
Risen shagaru (strife pieces) with furious augments should work with a dc 3 charm. Then its just a matter of slotting in your resistances and stuff. (My rng isnt that good tho, so can't help except with suggestions of builds. I cant make actual god tier builds just yet.)
Dc 3 on a charm makes no difference for water ice or fire builds. It changes your thunder and drsgon builds to enable 2 levels of stormsoul via narawbushi pieces.

I have returned to the game after a long time (I haven't played since TU1) and as such I'm still using my old wind serpent mixset with the Gaismagorm CB. I just beat a bunch of the new monsters but none of the risen as I haven't even unlocked most of them. Will my old SAED spam set be enough to get me to the newer super spam set? Or should I craft something in the meantime? I really like my current set though as it provides many defensive skills and a decent amount of offensive ones

you run the risen kushala helm for the wind mantle and wirebug whisperer. It speeds up your wirebugs, letting you always have ready stance or morphing advance available at all times. Powder mantle is a ~500 explosion every 20 seconds. You have hit like 60 times, which is a breeze for css. Intrepid heart gives you immunity to 1 attack after hitting the monster 65 times, letting stay safe when you can't dodge/guard an attack. Then you just have the usual crits and attack skills.
For SAED, do you think all 3 valstrax pieces are optimal even when we now have dragon conversion in augments? For example, isn't swapping the helm for the chaotic helm a good choice?
Chaotic gore was a piece i was fiddling with, but it didnt provide a big improvement. It was just shuffling around pieces and augments. Charms will be the main power boost for sets ie furious or dragon conversion 3. Sticking with risen val is the baseline and then once you get better charms, that is when you peel away risen val armor.
@@zaion8917 getting a charm with 1 furious or strife is the simplest route. if you get max power charms, they free up the augments from your set for other stuff like bloodlust. risen shagaru chest set is the only piece with 2 levels of the unique skills, so using it in a modified version of the risen valstrax/archfiend set does let you get max power strife, dereliction, furious, AND dragon conversion without a charm. (augments are 1 dragon conversion, 1 strife, 3 furious). You need to use your charm to instead fit in hard resistances (for max element and damage) since the risen shaggy chest's slots suck compared to risen val's chest.
Isn't guard 5 + guard up 3 big overkill? You only need guard 3 to block most attacks in the game with a charged shield + GP, and only need a single point in guard up to take no damage with counter peak performance.
with new monsters if you try to guard point stuff, without guard 5 guard up 3 you will take a lot of chip dmg to the point where u have to heal a lot, especially if u run dereliction.
is slotting stormsoul armor piece worth it/viable for dragon/thunder build? if not, what’s the equivalent of kushala/teostra blessing for dragon/thunder build?
@@Tea-Spin most likely the narwa helm or the ibushi waist. R. Shaggy Chest is for strife and archfiend is for arms and legs. You gotta augment for the 2-1-1 slot augment.
@@garlanramadhan4291 berserk offers no damage boost. It pairs with strife for 20%, element instead of 15%, but the combo of dereliction and dc outclasses strife + berserk.
After testing it thoroughly (every matchup), it did not make a big enough difference to run. It is a nice qol, but load shells and guards take higher priority
Damage wise, element phials wins in a lot of matchups, but against risen shaggy, amatsu, and risen valstrax, impact is 1000% more valuable for the stun. (Risen valstrax is a raw build matchup anyways)

Depends on charm also. If you have a strife 3 charm, then you gotta augment for furious.

Chip damage doesn't remove heaven-sent. Heaven-sent is removed when you are knocked down.

You're gonna need it for risen shaggy, risen valstrax, and amatsu. Dial down guards as you revisit weaker mons.

No furious decos. Only augments and charms. Fastest way is to use the metho where you trade 1 skill for another (odds are still low tho)

Once you get a god charm ( dragon conversion 3), Your set opens up tp narwabushi pieces.

Its not bad, but its not needed. By cutting it, It makes augmenting for skills you need easier.
