Maybe it's not the most "classic" sneaker, but i would have put the air yeezy 2 on the list, it kinda started the "hypebeast" era in sneakers and would have represented the newer ages in the history of it.
I still say the Jordan 1 is number 1 all time. Even though I have never worn them the Chuck Taylor is number 2. For 40 plus years it was the only basketball shoe.
What I like about most these classic sneakers they’re still very affordable. Except those classic Jordans but they are well rated in my opinion. They are rare compare other classics.
I would’ve put the superstar and stan smith in the top five for sure, definitely think they were snubbed. Much more deserving than the Vans IMO. New Balance 990 was another snub that should’ve been included.
Here's one none will mention, but hear me out... The Common Projects Achilles Low. Not just this shoe specifically, but the hordes of similar sneakers to this where it's a simple clean all white sneaker with no other patterns or perforations, commonly made with high end leather. That silhouette is as classic as a sneaker can get. It's been copied so many times that even We Are Underdogs has their own version.
