This performance was a mere matter of weeks before I got to not only see, but meet my guitar hero in person on 4/3/85: Roy sized me up and down before saying a word to me, and exclaimed: "You look like a Stratocaster player!" When I disclosed that I was a Gibson Les Paul player (at the time), Roy proceeded to tell me the story about purchasing his new Gold Top Les Paul Anniversary, and informed me that it was to appear on his (then) upcoming album, which it absolutely did. I found it amusing Jeff Beck told me the German drummer for Roy's backup band in this video (Martin and the Daintees) wanted to start a fist fight with him when Jeff went to see (and meet for the first time) Roy at the Marquee Club in the Spring of 1985 during Roy's 1985 Europe tour.
