Angelina Pelletier 2 months late but the audience either isn't mic'd up or they are quiet out of respect. For me, I would be quiet too. This isn't the type of song you usually be screaming the lyrics to unless she plays it at a faster pace.
I was in a talent show and the first thing they taught us was to be very close to the mic when singing to be heard clearly and not have your words heard as mumbles.
The farther away you are from the mic, the louder they have to turn it up. This makes it so that the vocal mic will pick up other instruments and sounds on stage which makes it harder to find a good stage mix and can create mic feedback.
