Ok people, the act of changing the filter was done well. But make sure you prime the filter first before just trying the start it like he did...... so instead of turning the engine over, just turn it to the on position, then off. Repeat that 3 times. You will hear the fuel pump if you are doing it right. After that the engine should turn over right away. You are filling a void in your fuel system and properly presurizing your fuel rail.
Hi, Nice to see that your filter came out so easily. My filter is unchanged after 30 years. I have the GTi three door hatch. The 14mm Nut at the bottom has been rounded off , presumably during previous attempts to remove it. It looks as though we will need to cut the pipe at the bottom and come up with another solution
+STEVE ROB REVIEWS haha funny story about the battery. In the director's cut version of the video you'd see me jump starting the car after I'd left the lights on. Cheers buddy

When do you need to replace the fuel filter or what are the symptoms of bad fuel filter? Thanks
Not sure of the factory interval but I'd replace it every 3-5 years

And it's a Diehard he just got from Sears.
How to loosent the bottom nut. I try few times very tight. Using no 14 spannar but failed. Please help...any idea? Thank you
Bigger spanner? No magic tricks
This also my problem, bottom nut impossible to remove
Try using the correct tool. A pipe/flared spanner
Finally i send mine to the worksyop. It has been rwplaced successfully.
Step 1 is slide out the carbon canister...The rest is easy...I hope that helps.
+ZIGgassedUP this is why you're the master. Cheers Zig
If a ratchet ratchets does a spanner span?
Gonna have a new old car pretty soon.
Good video pal, Charlie help ya with the editing?
+MostlymoparIH Charlie helps by being in bed or playing outside. As much as he loves computers, he has yet to master the gentle art of video editing
+MostlymoparIH good for another 20 years

What? No pry bars, impact wrenches or air chisels are needed? No fun. ;)
+txsviking the pry bars were on charge. They'll make an appearance soon 😎
What happened to easy? lol
+buzzsah easy is a long dead concept in the automotive world 😂
Odd placement for a filter.
+T.O.A.G a bit different, but does the job. Cheers!
I think that's better than dropping the tank to replace it.
I cannot break the bottom free to save my life
