Thaipusam a yearly hindu festival dedicated to Lord Murugan, commemorating the vanquishing of Soorapadman and his brothers. It's celebrated on the full moon in the Tamil Month of Thai, usually coincide with Pushya Star known as Poosam in Tamil. Every year during thaipusam road would be closed starting from Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple till Sri Thendayuthapani Temple which devoteers would then carry kavadi or paal and walk a full 4km on foot. Once reaching Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, they would pour milk over the statue of Lord Murugan as an act of offering and worshipping.
PS. I didn't manage to catch much of the festival when i reached at mid noon due to heavy downpour, so i will upload a old video of my visit during 2020.
