How to Format an ebook for Kindle/Amazon Publishing in UNDER 10 Mins!

- Since I no longer teach Kindle Self Publishing, I have decided to share some of the lessons., that have helped students accomplish countless levels of success with self-publishing on Amazon.

Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "publish your work" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Quonor Publish Peneplanation - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my colleague got great results with it.

Lol! This guy doesn’t know what he’s doing.
If I may contribute some shortcuts: You can actually just Select All and hit fully justify instead of searching through and selecting each chapter. Also remember the Find/Replace feature to globally delete excess paragraph returns, etc. To find all the chapter titles at once and convert them to Heading 1 (or whichever style you want to assign), tell Word to find all text in that font (ensure you add bold if it is bold, etc.), then globally change to Heading 1.

Wow thank you so much for sharing! I've paid people to format my Kindle ebooks and they all look a hot mess. I would even pay different people to fix it and they still will change all of my font and format completely. They would even lowercase some of my letters. It drove me crazy. I always wanted to do it myself but had no idea where to start. I figured I could do it because it seems like an easy job because it would get done quick. I'm pretty tech savvy so I knew I could one day figure it out. I'm incredibly thankful for your video! I was able to format my book this morning in just a few minutes. KDP even revealed my grammatical errors so I could easily fix them and not have to tiredly search. I'm so happy! Thank you!

I remember paying to get my kindle book formatted for the first time. When I saw the simple stuff they did, I realized it wasn't something that people need to be hired for and used google to learn how to do the formatting in google docs. Glad you made a video letting other people know.
I'm also composing in Google Docs. Any pointers? Specifically, I'd like to add a more professional looking text box at the end of each chapter to highlight the main points.
I don't know how to add a text box but everything I wanted to learn how to do I just typed in google. For example "How to create a table of content in google docs"

This was an awesome video, I wish I had found it before I started my Kindle writing journey. I and writing my third book in the Romance Genre. So helpful on finding the hard returns, thank you! I’m also looking for advice on best margin set up as it varies with everyone I’ve searched on line from KDP standard advice to TH-cam. I noticed margins in the ebook shown in this video were way wider than the advice I followed and I’m wondering if that makes a different when converting to KFP. Very grateful to you 😁

Definitely useful thanks, just the Page Break feature alone got the book displaying better in the Kindle preview. On some pages it was not separating chapters on new pages (some were not affected though). Wish I looked up for this video earlier! Thank you again!

Great video! I’m just starting out 😱I have a series of eight books (5-7K wds each) and a compilation of all eight - 55K wds. I used “TEXT EDIT” on Mac, then copied and pasted to a new WORD DOC, cleaned it up, and took it from there - MOST HELPFUL., then published right to KINDLE. I thought I would use KINDLE CREATE, but this way is more direct - I think. You took all the guess work out of the process. Thanks again!!

This is great. One thing. To speed up the process, hit Ctrl+A (Cmnd+A on a Mac) a few times to highlight the whole document. Then go back and set the headers. I personally disagree on one part, as a reader I want to have the subheading in the table of contents, so I'd at least format the Header 2 and use two levels in the TOC. Good job, easy to follow.
