In this video we look at players who destroyed their AFL careers instantly with the poor decisions they made while playing for their respective teams.
Can you please pin this comment🙏
No
Can you please get a life ??? Cmon kid, your better than this. You don't need these little self esteem falsities
The algorithm says I should be here and I am not fighting it. Great vid.
The algorithm knows best! Thanks mate 🤝
Damn I feel bad for saad that's not his fault
Yeah true, he seems like a decent bloke too, just really unlucky.
Club kinda threw him under the bus hey. You'd really think in a pro environment like the AFL, that the club would be well on top of making players aware of updates to the substance list.
@@lzrdwzrd999 AFL is fine with cocaine but not Saad's protein shake
Always loved that goal Saad kicked against the blues, it’s a shame his career was cut short like that
Truly, he should’ve had a second chance somewhere else. He’s dominating the local league now
Some of these are just truly sad stories, honestly.
Tad ironic saad got punished after all the actual junkies getting protected now
Yeah, the AFL should be more like cycling 😂😂
Talent only goes so far
💯
Hi mate new subscriber here, love the content keep up the great work 👍!!
Thanks mate welcome!
The was nothing instant about Bennell’s situation…. Coulda said what Yarra was jailed for too….
Maybe showing my age buuuut - Damian Cupido (Brisbane & Essendon), Daniel Connors (Richmond), Nathan O’Keefe (North Melbourne), Travis Tuck (Hawthorn), Liam Jurrah (Melbourne), Andrew Lovett (Essendon & St Kilda), Ben Cousins (West Coast & Richmond), Justin Charles (Footscray & Richmond), Campbell Brown (Hawthorn & Gold Coast), Tarryn Thomas (North Melbourne), Wayne Carey (North Melbourne & Adelaide), Jonathon Ross (Collingwood), Trent Hotton (Collingwood, Carlton & maybe even Richmond).
Re: Angwin. Guy could/would/should have been as good as Darcy Moore & Harris Andrews.
Also perhaps a bit crude & unfair but McCarthy (Collingwood & Port Adelaide) technically falls into this category but certainly doesn’t deserve to be lumped in with everyone else.
I would often see Damian Cupido while having lunch just down from Windy Hill. You would have sworn he was a combination of Usher and Garry Ablett the way he swaggered about. Last time I heard about him he was hanging curtains and gambling his money away.
Wayne Carey?
@@nathand4500 Yep. Shagged Stevos missus and went from being the captain of a club that made a prelim 18 months earlier to leaving the club in disgrace and missing the entire 2002 season.
Hardly think it ruined his career. He's the best CHF in history by an absolute mile. All the others fucked up promising careers and squandered their potential.@@Spotter_Loader
Yes it is unfortunate for any elite athletes to have their careers cut short.
Wether it be A.F.L. or badminton. Yes for some it's due to injury.
For others it can be trying to deal with situational crisis. Or underlying personal issues due to past unresolved trauma .
The message being reach out , get the right
support, no shame!.
It's takes courage to accept, courage to express, and then we move forward .
StKilda as a club has squandered its opportunities.
Sam Murray for Collingwood a few years a go is a good one. Played a few really good games then was banned due to taking cocaine.
Crazy looking back considering what’s going on right now in the league ❄️
Yaz still breaks my heart
As soon as I saw this vid I thought of Laurence Angwin. I'm of the same age and know a few blokes around the club at the time. Pretty much everyone knew he was trouble and stayed tf away from him (apart from dim follower types like Karl Norman)
Yeah he was supposed to be a gun though, I remember hearing about him before he got done when I was really little
Joel Smith.
Justin Clarke for Brisbane had his career cut short due to concussion problems but was starting to become a prolific key defender but thankfully he’s doing super well now. Jarred Brennan also sprung to mind, had so much potential and showed it occasionally but just couldn’t be consistent enough and fell away.
Mitch Clarke sat on multiple clubs lists picking up coin, whilst playing the mental health card.
@@Comatosedpeanut sorry mate I meant Justin Clarke, got them mixed up
He was my first thought. Desperately unlucky.
Liam Jurrah?
Saad deserved a chance
Cough cough Ben cousins
Shane Yarran ruined his career imo
Bootsma 😳🤦🏾 wow
Yarran played 100 games... thats 99.9 more than the average
How do you play 0.1 games?
North Melbourne Jim and Phil
Tarryn Thomas
Shultz messed up big leaving freo
Seems that way so far let’s see if he turns it around
@@flairfootyjust settling into a new team
Did he? Or is he gonna win a flag this century
wtf he’s like 4 games into playing for his new club. Regardless id rather play for Collingwood than Fremantle regardless of ladder positions.
@@Comatosedpeanut why collingwood are worse.
Also hes definitley settling into a new team
For the Tiges in recent times, Sydney Stack for sure. Will always remember that bump on Viney, could have been anything but threw it away
He was never afl standard mate.
@@timhunter7441 His first season was solid, but you may be right. Bit of a flash in the pan type player

Bit harsh on Bennell, bloke kept getting injured.

Liam Jurrah
