I have one... all stock still for 2 yrs now. Made 400cc bikes eat dust multiple times.... heavy traffic riding is not problem. I can fit it where mio's and other scoot owners can fit theirs. Twisties are this bike's favorite... just make sure u put good rubber on it. All in all.... its a superb bike... too fast for its class... ride safely bros. :)
Nice video bro, but how much for the oil filter? From it spec, it only require 1 liter of engine oil. this suppose to be roughly the same with FZ150i in term of oil change cost, truly a budget beginner bike except for it fuel consumption, par with the NINJA 150rr

+Harith Asri You're roughly my height, so it shouldn't be a problem. Servicing shouldn't cost that much, unfortunately I don't have the figures with me, you can ask the bike shop sales person they should be able to advise you on the servicing costs.
+Ash Ruff Everything has it's pros and cons, the biggest cons for this bike would be the lack of top end, low to mid range feels good, but it tops out too soon. You'll probably get a lot of smaller cc bike riders trying to "race" you or ridicule you, saying that "your 250cc bike top slower than their XXXX kapcai", and so on. Other than that, I don't see any problem with this bike like maintenance/servicing, although I need to clarify that I don't own this bike, so I can't comment on long term durability. For it's price and being a 250cc from Kawasaki, it's still quite a deal. They have warranty, HQ stocked with parts, service centers, etc. Any problems during warranty, just drop in to the HQ to get it checked out.

Congrats on your new bike.. K3 you can find quite a number of shops and online sellers selling it, best to survey around for model and size. Make sure you check and get the correct size for your head. Having the right fit helmet is important for a comfortable ride, there is no such thing as "free size" for helmet. For starter you can look up "Lightworld Motorsports" on Facebook see if he has any K3 you like. There are plenty others, you can join the "Malaysian Superbike Exchange" FB group to check out what people are selling. As usual be wary when dealing with online seller, don't pay before getting your item. Happy shopping, ride safe, safe ride!

This bike is very suitable for beginner riders. The handling is quite light and nimble, so it's easy to handle for beginners, for myself I found the sitting position comfortable, but I did not get to take it for long travelling riding. Urban/city riding is just fine, since it has a good torque suitable for city riding.
I'm quite happy with this bike but I have a big problem with the ABS system . whenever I brake and the Abs system starts to work , the bike becomes unstable and the back loses grip, sliding toward the right side so this is very dangerous I think it is not normal . could it be a faulty ABS system ? Any suggestions?

Yes you probably can get an ECU re-flash done, but the limiter is there to protect the engine, if you are not careful you can blow up your engine in your pursuit for a few more km/h. Better off upgrading the cc by big bore kit and etc. Like what they do with KSR 110, bore to 240cc.

I'm not about the oil issue you mention, probably better if you check in Z250SL owner groups about that issue. If the price difference is not much, and you can afford it, I think going with the Z300 would be better. Comes standard with slipper-clutch if I'm not mistaken.
I believe it will still be able to cruise at 140 km/h comfortably, but you can try checking in Z250SL group/forum and see owner's feedback about carrying pillion.
Comparing a used bike with a new bike of different engine capacity and class is not so straightforward. If you are just basing it on money wise, of course the 650 is more worth the value, in the end it depends on the buyer, what they want. For ER6 currently there are just too many used bikes for sale on the market, hence the drop in value and difficulty to sell, not to mention new bikes that are more competitive priced.

I'm not sure if the latest ones have ABS, for a 250cc I don't think ABS is extremely critical to have. It's still a decent bike to ride daily, nothing much has changed for it since it's introduction in 2014 till now. If you want to know more about the maintenance, or any possible issues, joining owner group/forum would be the best way, you can do your research on the bike through the experience of owners. Personally I'm not aware of any major issue with the bike.. Happy shopping & RSSR!
THere is no official kit from manufacturer, have to check with local bike shop if they can fabricate the link to lower the bike. The front is just normal lowering the triple tree clamps.

The Z250 twin has the slightly better edge compared to the SL, but they are both good in their own way, the big point of the SL is the price, but if you have the budget than you can go for the Z250 twin.

If you are saying that based on height, that's not true, some people even though short, can handle bigger bikes without issue, it all depends on the person's confidence and technique. However, for those not as daring, try looking at cruiser style bikes, those have low seat height.
Hello I'm thinking of buying this bike....what are your opinion for long distance with this bike ? I would say from kl to Melaka for a weekend getaway? Are you prefer z250sl or z250? I've been informed by owners that for long distance, the hard seat can make the butt numb, KL-Melaka isn't super far away, either the Z or the SL are both suitable. If you have extra cash to spend I'd say go with the twin engine Z. The CBR250R is a single, but still powerful, while the R25 should be a twin. I'm not sure about R25 price. You can't go wrong with any of these bikes since pricing more or less (apart from the SL that should be the cheapest option), the question is which style/design do you like best.

When I talk about distance, it isn't because the bike cannot do it, but instead, it's the rider. For long rides the rider has to bear with the speed/wind/heat/etc. The bike can cover the distance without issue, but you may have a sore/numb butt from sitting for long period. That's why it's good to rest when you stop for fuel. Actually the best setup for long distance is standard. If you change the exhaust, you may lose some performance at the top range and fuel economy reduced, not to mention the noise might require you to wear ear plugs. Best way is to try for yourself, a short ride, average ride, see how it feels, then you can have an idea how a long ride will be, and what you need to consider then.

It can basically do just about any type of riding, like daily commutes / weekend / long distance, but if you want to do fast highway riding probably a bigger cc motorcycle would be more suitable, less stress to the engine.
Over here in Malaysia, there is no 300cc model, only the 250cc. But regardless of the cc, yes I agree a used Z250 would be roughly same cost as a new Z250SL, depend on the buyer whether they want a new bike or used one.

It depends what are you expecting from the 250.. If you want a bit more power, then probably yes, but if you want something more than probably going for a 650 would be more ideal.
I'm not quite familiar with the maintenance cost of the FZ150i, but I believe the cost should not vary by too much. You use a little more engine oil, the oil filter should be a little costly, your tires and sprocket may cost a bit more.. etc.
Personally I felt fine on the bike, but feedback from some of the owner, will get tired after long riding due to the position (a bit lean forward) and seat (hard). But they agree that it is possible to maintain 130-40 km/h cruising.
how bout in terms of daily driving (around 66km, back n forth from my house to office) ? does the sitting position ok? sakit belakang ke or etc..and the fuel consumption too..and i'm 168cm tall..thanks =)
The seating position is comfortable, no noticeable back pain as the suspension work well to absorb the bumps and ditches on the road. Fuel consumption is pretty good for a small tank, around 240km for about 11 liters.
I can see Kawa is dominating .. Bought er6n and probably rare in singapore (loving it but not many aftermarket exhaust avail in SG :( . Cant bring myself getting a honda or yamaha at the same cc mean look at their design ... Boring i should say.
They are essentially both the same, only difference is one has the fairing and a bit more sporty riding position while the other is more towards naked/street fighter look. Which style do you prefer, that's your choice. The fairing does offer more wind protection, for longer rides you can maintain speed without getting tired easier with less wind hitting your body.

Yes, it is. There's no pillion grab bar or cut-out under the tail for pillion to hold though.

Kawasaki Malaysia did not bring in that color, maybe this year (2015) there will be green available.

You can try it out standard first, if you are comfortable to handle it you don't really need to lower it. But if you feel you have to, then go ahead..

I don't know the fuel consumption for the Duke, but for this one it's roughly 240km for about 11 litres.

If you are saying that based on height, that's not true, some people even though short, can handle bigger bikes without issue, it all depends on the person's confidence and technique. However, for those not as daring, try looking at cruiser style bikes, those have low seat height.

I've been informed by owners that for long distance, the hard seat can make the butt numb, KL-Melaka isn't super far away, either the Z or the SL are both suitable. If you have extra cash to spend I'd say go with the twin engine Z. The CBR250R is a single, but still powerful, while the R25 should be a twin. I'm not sure about R25 price. You can't go wrong with any of these bikes since pricing more or less (apart from the SL that should be the cheapest option), the question is which style/design do you like best.

When I talk about distance, it isn't because the bike cannot do it, but instead, it's the rider. For long rides the rider has to bear with the speed/wind/heat/etc. The bike can cover the distance without issue, but you may have a sore/numb butt from sitting for long period. That's why it's good to rest when you stop for fuel.
Actually the best setup for long distance is standard. If you change the exhaust, you may lose some performance at the top range and fuel economy reduced, not to mention the noise might require you to wear ear plugs.
Best way is to try for yourself, a short ride, average ride, see how it feels, then you can have an idea how a long ride will be, and what you need to consider then.

The bike should suit just fine, it depends on your budget and what type of riding you want to do.

It can basically do just about any type of riding, like daily commutes / weekend / long distance, but if you want to do fast highway riding probably a bigger cc motorcycle would be more suitable, less stress to the engine.

At current price for RON95 MYR 1.70 normally low fuel will blink when 2-3 L left, so assuming you are filling up 8 L that's about 13.60.

Why would somebody buy this one over the Z300 (or ninja 300 for that matter since you can find those second hand pretty easily and cheap by bow)
Over here in Malaysia, there is no 300cc model, only the 250cc. But regardless of the cc, yes I agree a used Z250 would be roughly same cost as a new Z250SL, depend on the buyer whether they want a new bike or used one.

It depends what are you expecting from the 250.. If you want a bit more power, then probably yes, but if you want something more than probably going for a 650 would be more ideal.
How about the maintenance cost of z250sl?does it make big differences with fz150i?
I'm not quite familiar with the maintenance cost of the FZ150i, but I believe the cost should not vary by too much. You use a little more engine oil, the oil filter should be a little costly, your tires and sprocket may cost a bit more.. etc.

Personally I felt fine on the bike, but feedback from some of the owner, will get tired after long riding due to the position (a bit lean forward) and seat (hard). But they agree that it is possible to maintain 130-40 km/h cruising.

how bout in terms of daily driving (around 66km, back n forth from my house to office) ? does the sitting position ok? sakit belakang ke or etc..and the fuel consumption too..and i'm 168cm tall..thanks =)
The seating position is comfortable, no noticeable back pain as the suspension work well to absorb the bumps and ditches on the road. Fuel consumption is pretty good for a small tank, around 240km for about 11 liters.

They are essentially both the same, only difference is one has the fairing and a bit more sporty riding position while the other is more towards naked/street fighter look. Which style do you prefer, that's your choice. The fairing does offer more wind protection, for longer rides you can maintain speed without getting tired easier with less wind hitting your body.

If it is, the Ninja 250R, R25, etc would require B full. You can look at your license, the classification details are listed on the back. Not sure if the new type MyKad style license shows it, but the old version does.
