    You can make a jig out of a two by four and notch out where the bows should fit on the perlin. Ex. 4 ft, six ft, etc

    If you are watching this you have access to the calculator built into your device and the Wikipedia entry "Solar azimuth angle." If the math doesn't scare you, you can use the shadow cast by the sun to find true north and from that a 3-4-5 right triangle will get you east-west. You can save yourself the price of a good compass if you or a friend can handle the math and you don't have to compensate for local magnetic anomalies.

    Invest in a metal tape ....I built a barn 48x120 ...plastic tape put us out of square by 1/4 inch

    Your wrong on the east west layout ...if you lay the greenhouse north south ....when the sun come up the entire greenhouse is in the sunshine ...

      Don't know where you're writing from, but here in Oklahoma you almost always have to N-S orient. Our winds will pull that sucker outta the ground if its E-W facing.

      Andrew Gourd Kalispell MT ...we built one 22x 120 wind picked it up ...tore posts buried in the ground 2 feet ...but I was talkin sunshine the sun still comes up in the east in Montana and Oklahoma I'm rebuilding thus spring still gunna run north to south ..lengthwise...just to be clear the long wall will face east ...thanks for your tips
