My man you taught me calculus 1, 2 and 3 and discrete mathematics and now u r teaching my probability I think 😳 im crushing on u man. Been with me since day 1
u really r a life savior man, idc how many views other peoples channel have i come to u for every subject. You teach everything in such a comprehendible manner. I'm following ur entire chem series (got an A in the class) and now stats. thank u so much!
I am so grateful for this free course I had this teacher He gave these obvious example of dependent event and independent event Dependent = event of coin to coin Independent = event of cards and coin 😑
You’re really coming in clutch with these stats videos as i have an exam tomorrow. Also thank you so much for your ochem videos, i currently have the highest grade in my second semester ochem course thanks to you. (: you also carried me through calc2 and i got an A lol
yo if you know how to do this can u please help me. . "Determine the equations of the tangent line(s) to the curve x^2-xy+y^2=9 at the points where the curve intersects the x axis". I already did the derivative using chain rule, I just dont understand how to find the points where the curve intersects at the x axis. I just figured if you aced calc 2 you could help me lmao
For the final card problem, I just did 2/52 * 12.5/51, because the first event reduces the sample space of possible diamond cards by 0.5 and the sample space of total cards by 1.
Great content, but perhaps the prompt omitted the words Red King 'of Diamonds' on C, which might throw some people off who enjoy pausing the video and tackling the problem before you walk through it): There are 2 red kings in the deck (King of Hearts and King of Diamonds), so the probability of selecting a red king on the first try is 2/52 not 1/52.
the only thing I couldn't understand is P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B). this is only used for a mutually exclusive event, is this mutually exclusive? can you explain it to me, please?
isnt there an easier way than figuring that out with out manually counting every possibility? like a short hand way to just multiply it out right away?
I don't understand when do we just multiply the probabilities P(AB)=P(A)*P(B) and when we do the P(A and B)= P(A) + P(B) - A or B...can someone clarify. I'm stuck on it for two days :(
We multiply them when the two events are independent meaning they don't affect each others probability of success. The second equation is use in calculations of probability that involve unions ("or") and use add the subtraction part when thet arent mutually exclusive (meaning thr probability of one event overlaps with the other event or simly the intersect in the venn diagram)
Sir, I have a question: Probability of getting a black card greater than 3 and less than equal to 9: Since its already given as a black card, shouldn’t the sample space be just 26 cards and not 52?
Compare two questions: 1) What is the probability of selecting a black card that is greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9? and 2) What is the probability that the selected black card is greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9? In the first case, you can select the red card too. In the second case, you know you have selected the black card, so you can say "given that the card is black".
Because we are calculating the probability of choosing a black card greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9 in an entire deck of 52 cards. Had the question asked what is the probability of choosing a black card greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9 if you are choosing only from the black cards, then it would be 12/26.
Love the video. Very well explained. But please... Just king of hearts or king of diamonds. Not: "red kind of hearts/diamonds" Hella tilting Nice video though
the probability of getting twice heads after flipping one coin is 1/4!, how?. why not z. A coin has a heads and a tails. How 1/4?. after flipping two times, it's 1/4 not one time
Shouldn't be P(D/rk) in the last problem at 16:09? Since it is the probability of getting a diamond card given before you picked a red king and not the other way around
Question 1 doesn't make sense it says 2 heads by flipping a coin. Singular meaning shouldn't it be 0% since you cant get 2 heads by flipping "a coin". This may be right or my sh*t English.

nice man
why does it reduce the sample space by 0.5 pls explain!!!
i agree why is it reduced by .5
@@normarojas5423 because 1 out of 2 possibilities are diamond if it is the red king so 1/2 = .5

For question c it says red king, not red king of hearts? So isn’t the probability 2/52•13/51? Because there are two red kings

the only thing I couldn't understand is P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B). this is only used for a mutually exclusive event, is this mutually exclusive? can you explain it to me, please?
The number 2 letter c is complicated. Who else make a hard time understanding it?
The last part c was hard 😥
For part c problem 1 is there a way to solve the answer arithmitically without writing out the sample space?
mistake at 14:13, it should be 2/52 for the prbability of red kings, not 1/52
but why its 1/52 to get that specific king
@@pinkex6119 there are 52 cards in a deck and there is only one red king with that specific symbol if that makes any sense
@@endrode6958 yea there is 2 red king and 1 specific red king so you add those and then you get 2 re dking

Sir, I have a question:
Probability of getting a black card greater than 3 and less than equal to 9: Since its already given as a black card, shouldn’t the sample space be just 26 cards and not 52?
No. Because all cards are still included in the set. So it is still divided by 52
Compare two questions:
1) What is the probability of selecting a black card that is greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9?
and
2) What is the probability that the selected black card is greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9?
In the first case, you can select the red card too.
In the second case, you know you have selected the black card, so you can say "given that the card is black".

Pls try n increase the font size of the questions for us pls
On the second question for the black cards, why didn't we use the total of the black cards which is 26 instead we used the total of all the cards?
Because we are calculating the probability of choosing a black card greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9 in an entire deck of 52 cards. Had the question asked what is the probability of choosing a black card greater than 3 but less than or equal to 9 if you are choosing only from the black cards, then it would be 12/26.

Good
wait, isnt P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A intersection B) ??
What do u mean
p(a intersection b) is equal to zero in this case, hence its not included in the equation
I don't understand this King, Diamond, and the likes of a thing.... maybe because I don't play the cards
Someone should please help
For item b why did we put the probability out of 52 and not 26 since its black cards
What is the difference between a and c? In both questions order didnt matter? Why were they done differently? Thanks
Which software are you using for the culculation

if u do the average of the two which is 12.5 and then you do it you get the same answer
