    .
    We have one of our favorite C10's back in the shop this week! If you don't know why this truck is so special to us, it's because Street Trucks is going to be auctioning off this squarebody Chevy at Barret Jackson, and all the proceeds are going to Mission 22 to aid in their quest to support our veterans.
    In the last episodes, you saw us fix the rear end in place, fabricate a custom bed, and spray down the bed floor with some Poppy's Patina bedliner. We had so much fun workin on this C10 that we decided to take the fab work one step further by making some custom bumper mounts to fix these stock squarebody bumpers on to the custom American Chassis frame. Not only that, we're also frenching in our front and rear bumpers to pull them closer to the body and give the profile of this truck a much sleeker look. Not only are we making custom mounts for the bumpers, we're also making a custom mount for the Boyd's fuel cell. We're rounding out the work on this C10 with some modified inner fenders to make sure no dirt, dust, or mud gets slung around the engine bay when this Chevy is cruising down the road.
    And to top this episode off, our friends from Icon Investments brought by a HUGE surprise for the guys at StreetTrucks Magazine and Mission 22!
    Even though our time with this truck is up, the adventure isn't over for Sgt. Square. This truck has a long road ahead of it before it goes across the auction block. So make sure to be following along with Street Trucks as they get this C10 Squarebody ready to raise some money!

    Dave does some very meticulous work. Great job with the bumpers and wheel tubs. The only thing different I might of done, hide the fuel fill in behind the tail light. But it is for charity and that is quite a bit more labour. The way Dave did the tank and filler is still awesome, don't get me wrong.
    The guys at Icon,, Stand up lads. What more do you need to say.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! It's not even necessarily about putting the extra labor in, but the time it would take to do as well. This truck needs to be running and driving by mid October and there's a ton of other work being done outside of our shop. So we wanted to make sure everything was done functionally, clean, and in time for the deadline to be shipped off to the next shop!

    Have y’all checked out hartfab inner fenders? They are sheet metal and cover the side of the fenders so you don’t have to run separate filler panels for the inside the fender. They’re very nice and comparable in price to slosh tubs. Probably cheaper than slosh tubs by the time you add in the filler panels for the slosh tubs.

    I always laugh watching Chip Foose. Mr. custom car builder. He draws a picture of a car, does some work with the bumpers, and then gets his team of minions to do everything else. Occasionally he might splash some paint. But everyone seems to think he's the best. I hate to tell it to you Mr. Foose. I would put these guys work up to yours any day. Mikey and his team are car builders. The only thing Foose built is a reputation for himself. Not the guys that actually do the work.

  • @wkrick

    For the fuel fill location, would it have been possible to 90 up inside the bed/quarter and put the fill location on the inside of the bed side instead of the floor?

    • @-Mike-69
      @-Mike-69 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's actually a very good idea. I would of like to seen it hidden behind the tail light, like Chevy did on their old cars. But that's actually a pile of work. I do like that idea you had to get it off the floor. I will keep that in mind for myself.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are both awesome ideas! If we had this truck for longer, we definitely would have tucked it behind the tail light. Unfortunately with builds like this that are on a pretty tight deadline to get finished, we have to weigh in all the work that needs to be done and decide where to invest our time. And for the fabrication we were doing, a simpler solution needed to be taken for the filler neck
