All are great ideas for a foiled or metallic look. I also like the idea of using stamps, heat set it with embossing powder and then run it with foil through a laminator (in between sheets!). I have not tried that yet though. Like the double sided tape, glue dots work great as little accents instead of pearls or enamel dots and such. Many possibilities and techniques, love it from time to time 👍

the Sakura quickie glue pens also dry tacky and work with foiling (just wait until completely dry and run it through die cutting machine for even pressure). I just wrap the tip in a little piece of plastic tape (that I re-use) before capping and it doesn't dry out. Your tutorials are phenomenal.

Thanks for this video. I went with two friends to a scrapbook store that was having us make one card with the foiling machine, of course trying to sell us one. It was pretty but also a few didn't turn out the best and that stuff is expensive! Plus you have to get creative on what to do with the foil that didn't get use since it is expensive. Then buying the dies, etc... I just couldn't see investing in it. I really like what you've showed us here. I really appreciate how you do all these types of videos for us. THANK YOU!

Thank you for this video showing lower cost foiling alternatives. I have a Go Press 'n' Foil which gets used semi-annually in binge sessions because it is too much of a bother to set up everything (in conjunction with my Big Shot, boxes of new foil and "waste" foil, box of foiling stamps and dies, various experimental foiling "stamps", and papers/media, etc.) for foiling one or two cards at a time. If I could do it all over again I'd save myself the expense of the GPnF tool and the official metal foiling stamps (Spendy!!! unless you hit a Spellbinders' warehouse sale/other clearance sales online. Thank goodness they can be used for embossing and letterpress, too.), as well as all the time I've spent learning to work with them to get the results I wanted, and I would just foil with double-sided adhesives, two-way glue and that Transfer Gel Duo. ---And I like the looks of the "Slippery When Wet" gold Lunar Paste that can be used in so many different ways. I've got to try that out for stenciling, splatters, sheer spray and making my own metallic papers! Some of the other colors look luscious... :)
Yeah, when the heating element burns out on my foiling platform I won't replace it. It is just too much money, time, effort and takes up too much space to be left out all the time for casual use.

Hi. Wow, just look at all the comments! I think you have saved a fair few folks from frittering away cash on unnecessary hardware with all your innovative and thrifty ideas, tips and tricks. Give yourself a pat on the back for gathering so much info and cramming it into just one video, you've really earned it! Those cards are going to look the bees knees once completed. For some unknown reason I was half expecting you to take that large tree die that you had just been using, smear it with the Slippery When Wet on the reverse side and pop it down onto the pink and blue swirling background after you had done the little gold splatters. You were racing along at such a speed with it all that I had to pause at the halfway point because you got my mind turning at a right old rate and I was starting to feel a little breathless and overwhelmed with so much information and inspiration all at once! 🤣 I think I've rambled for Britain today so thank you very much for sharing this outstanding video and all your fabulous work. Also... sorry about the 'mini novel' of a comment, got a bit carried away there. 😳

I have absolutely REFUSED to buy a foil machine or even a laminator - not for the money, but for the space. I have used all of these techniques and I find them to be just beautiful w/o all the money and space of an extra machine. And the Deco Foild Duo gel is FANTASTIC!

I love the effect on the tree! Definitely worth trying the lunar paste which seems to be such a versatile product. Instead of flicking with a paintbrush I made some gold perfect pearl water in a small bottle and it just never runs out! The snowflake mandala is very pretty. Thank you 💛

Thanks for your video, Natasha. I have been considering a foiling machine for some time, not any more though. I have some adhesive transfers from Gina K that I can adhere using my die-cutting machine pressure. So many options.

I purchased a small roll of foil but never did anything with it. Now I know what I can do. Love the double sided tape option.

Thank you for this video. I have been debating getting a foiling plate and for your reasons have not. I have a lot of Cricut foil from a failed attempt to do foiling on my machine but now I know exactly what I will use it for. Love your videos and look forward to them

Amazing! Thank you very much! I have some foil and didn’t know what to do with it, as the pen that went with it dried out, I have to try these techniques 😁😁😁

Thank you Natasha for the inspiration to use what you have to get the foiled look. I have all the products that you showed so will now give them all a go. I've been contemplating investing in a hot foil machine but the cost involved in getting all the extra dies you need to be able to hot foil is just too much for me so thank you so much for this video 🙂
