Speaking on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Prime Minister Marape addressed the decision made by the Parliamentary Private Business Committee to reject the latest motion filed by the Opposition. The committee's rejection was based on the grounds that certain sections of the application were not properly filled out in accordance with parliamentary standing orders.
This marks the fifth attempt by the Opposition to lodge the motion, all of which have been found to contain errors. Prime Minister Marape questioned why the Opposition continues to make these basic mistakes, highlighting the need for accuracy in such critical procedures.
