What a great remake to this scene. Ff7 1999: a guard dies , heart beating sound kicks in, and sephiroth pops up with jenova and flies off.
Rebirth: gave an awesome introduction with sephiroth announcing jenova. Also get to see the body parts of jenova as well… the 3 phase battle to such a dope moment in ps1 battle was executed perfectly. Let’s not forget the old and new jenova themes.

As a fan of both final fantasy, & sonic, Jenova and Sephiroth reminds me of the sonic.exe creepypasta. So much so that I'm interpreting that creepypasta as Sephiroth invading sonic's world using Jenova as a vessel. All part of his plan to become one with all life in the reunion of worlds. He remembers all the worlds out there during his time in the smash bros house. I'm so hyped for the 3rd game.

Why does its second form remind me of a less refined version of Safer Sephiroth? The mass of hands on the right side look like a wing and the left side has a tentacle that could represent the normal hand. Even it's base looks like Safer Sephiroth's if it had feet instead of wings.

Jenova and everything related to it has generally had wing motifs going on. The PSX model had a 'wing' thats now the mass of hands on Emergent, Crisis Core had Angeal/Genesis/Sephiroth all sporting wings in monster/human forms.
