    These suites are beautiful. Love the subtle, calming decor and I like the idea of a separate bedroom. Thank you for showing me a world I'd never get to see otherwise.

      Thanks for watching Ebba. Yes, these are VERY exclusive suites and we were so lucky to have been able to explore them at our will. tbh, I nearly hid in one of them for the next cruise! :D

    Good grief - this ship is just absolutely STUNNING! I'm so glad you guys are experiencing things like this, as my budget will neeeever stretch to this type of cruising - great to see though!

      Thanks Fraser. We only had a couple of nights on board sailing from Hamburg to Southampton. It’s an amazing ship, can’t imagine how incredible it would be to sail the Arctic or Antarctica on it 🤩

    Beautiful decor. We have neighbours that have decided to try the Ponant line because they saw your videos.
    Observation: I’ve noticed that despite the tradition that the best part of the ship for movement in amidships, they always put these big suites at the front or stern or high up!

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, thank you. Let’s hope they enjoy it as much as we did.
      We too always wonder at big suites being at the front or aft as we much prefer to be mid ships - though I do know a lot of people who love a stern view 😍

      Yes, it’s not an ‘every day’ cruise ship, sailing on her would probably be a once in a life time thing for most people.

    From what you have shown, the suites are better than what we have been in on Regent.

    Hello Rich and Helen. Those are particularly POSH accommodations for sure. But as I watched, I thought to myself, "What does one do with all that space, if you are not cruising for many many days, with a bevy of friends along with you to entertain along the way ?" I also think that some of the Edge class suites on Beyond are quite nice as well, if not as spacious as these, when Captain Kate gave us a tour of her ship. Quite a pretty penny for those suite aboard Le Commandant !!

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. We often think that the nicer the suite the more time you spend in it and the less time you have to enjoy the rest of the ship, which is a bit of a pity (not that we’d say no to a few days in one of these lovely suites 😆)

  • @ManWhoLovesTheMary
    @ManWhoLovesTheMary 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For a smaller ship, I would never know it based on how spacious these spaces are. So futuristic and yet somehow still familiar and cozy. I love the view outside from the shower and am happy more ships are implementing them. If I paid for a balcony cabin, I’d like the full opportunity to experience that ocean view. Also, there’s something so virtuous about not turning on a light to accomplish visibility. #enviromentalflex
    In other news, that duplex suite is bigger than my apartment. There’s a big sigh. Puis-je habiter aboard Le Commandant, s’il te plaît ?

    I hope you didn’t think bad of me with my Budapest reference to Gödöllői. I enjoy your videos. I have been Looking at Le Commandant Charcot after watching Nate and Kara’s videos to the North Pole. Would like to do the Commandant Charcot to the North West Passage. Very historic journey 😊

    The largest terraces at sea are the terraces of the Garden Villas on Norwegian Dawn and Star. They take up not just the outside space most people see in pictures but also the entire roof area over the interior of the villa. Well over 3,000sf.

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting Michael. We discounted the Garden Villa because the Garden Villa is a three bedroom 'villa' and not a single bedroom suite with a traditional veranda/balcony. It's accommodation designed for multiple occupancy so when we put the list together we decided that it wasn't a direct comparison. Hope that makes sense. :)

    Beautiful videos and nicely presented (as always). It would have been nice for you to include a cost for each suite since dreaming big is much cheaper than reality!

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Dee and Lee 👍
      Hard to give a cost as it will depend on voyage etc but suffice to say it would be one of the most expensive cruises (if not the most expensive) cruise you would take 💰 😆

    They remind me of the Viking rooms, not a bad thing in any way.

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Dave, there is a definite Scandi feel to the ship which we agree is not a bad thing 👍

    As nice as the Owners Suite is, I'd go for the Duplex suite. Given it's as nice as most high end hotel suites much less anything on any other ship I've seen and what's included. It's actually not too bad. It claims you can have up to 4 people in it which would not be unreasonable given the size. I suppose one would have to be willing to switch off who got the large bed, but with the right group, it would be a lot of fun and an absolute bargain given what's included.

    I believe that NCL can claim the largest terraces at sea. The Haven 3-Bedroom Garden Villa on the Jewel class ships are two level and measure in at 2,314 square feet or 215 square meters.
