The Wanderer While difficult to understand, it is literal metal poetry to me, and also this describes a normal day inside of my head. Half of me wants to save the world, and the other half wants the world to burn. Luckily the good wins 95% of the time.
So I've been repeating this song for days now because I enjoyed the SOUND of it so so much, but only just decided I need to know the lyrics And well Goosebumps at the first clean vocal with the higher pitch verse, when I properly understood the meaning and how it relates to the title, (alas my newborn metal ears aren't quite able to interpret le' vocals) The power and energy is so much more understood now, thank you dearly

I listen to a lot of music so I wouldn't say it's my dominant genre, but it's one of my most listened to for sure; my metal playlist on Spotify has more songs in it than any other. I've been listening to metal for maybe a little under two years (I'm almost 18)? Started off with the band I See Stars (their dubstep sounds helped me crossover, as beforehand that was my most listened to genre), and then into Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity, new-Veil of Maya, Epica, Born of Osiris, Betraying the Martyrs. But this year, since around posting the comment on this video actually, I've gotten a whole lot more into metal. Bands like Fleshgod' (ofc), Behemoth, Rotting Christ, Carnifex, Batushka, Fallujah; I really dig. But I keep finding and listening to a lot of different bands, of varying metal and rock kinds, for example Woods of Ypres, Alestorm, Suicide Silence, Thy Art Is Murder, Chronolyth, Gojira, Disturbed, Psyclon Nine; heck, I even find myself listening to the more obscure and / or really heavy bands such as Imperium Dekadenz, Downfall of Gaia, Ava Inferi, Empyrium, Shape of Despair, My Dying Bride, Ahab, Emperor, Ghost Bath. Just a lot really. I really feel the music, it really inspires and empowers me, helps with any negative stuff bottled up, etc. I really love the diversity, power, and technicality / intricacy of it. And usually I can really get behind the lyrics or overall song meaning. The genre as a collective is just a really amazing thing. Don't really know the words for it. I have a lot of appreciation and thanks for it. But thanks for asking! How's metal treating you?
Dan I love how deep the lyrics are, which is also why I love death metal. While it can, and is often difficult to understand, the instrumentals and lyrics are incredible:)
So, just to clearify for someone like me, having English as my second language: What is the overall meaning? Did the guy violate a girl, and the karma/fate/the whatever universal justice finally got him at the end?
A power metal bassist, Nergal on vocals and guitar, and Otep on keyboards....what else could you ask for?
