      I worked with the band a few years ago when they played the venue I used to work at. Very easy people to work with. They were one of the easiest bands I worked with. Any musician you meet can have their off days, but usually chances are if you ever see them, just say hi and be polite. Most musicians genuinely appreciate meeting fans.

    Lyrics
    Led to the river midsummer, I wave
    A "V" of black swans on, with hope, to the grave
    And through red September, with skies fire-paved
    I begged you appear like a thorn for the holy ones
    Cold was my soul and untold was the pain
    I faced when you left me a rose in the rain
    So I swore to the razor that never enchained
    Would your dark nails of faith be pushed through my veins again
    Bared on your tomb, I'm a prayer for your loneliness
    And would you ever soon come above unto me?
    For once upon a time, from the binds of your lowliness
    I could always find the right slot for your sacred key
    Six feet deep is the incision
    In my heart, that barless prison
    Discolors all with tunnel vision
    (Sunsetter) Nymphetamine
    Sick and weak from my condition
    This lust, this vampiric addiction
    To her alone in full submission
    (None better) Nymphetamine
    Nymphetamine, nymphetamine
    Nymphetamine girl
    Nymphetamine, nymphetamine
    My nymphetamine girl
    Wracked with your charm, I'm circled like prey
    Back in the forest where whispers persuade
    More sugar trails, more white lady laid
    Than pillars of salt
    Fall to my arms, hold their mesmeric sway
    And dance out to the moon as we did in those golden days
    Christening stars, I remember the way
    We were needle and spoon, mislaid in the burning hay
    Bared on your tomb, I'm a prayer for your loneliness
    And would you ever soon come above unto me?
    For once upon a time, from the bind of your holiness
    I could always find the right slot for your sacred key
    Six feet deep is the incision
    In my heart, that barless prison
    Discolors all with tunnel vision

The words he uses brings the song to life, and you can close your eyes and visualize every word he sings! Who knew metal could be so illustrative, so romantic!!

    Old music is so depressing because it always reminds you of a good time in your life. But what I quickly learnt in life is that it's okay to be sad about that good feeling because life isn't all about that one good feeling, it's about making so many more for when your time comes you can reflect on a whole movie of good memories and not just one you tried to hold onto forever.

      @Fl0pus 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don't like the screaming because you're not used to it, if you give it a chance and listen to a song a couple of times, you'll get used to the screaming and you'll love it. I used to hate screaming like you, but now it's one of my favorite genres

    • @jameswindolf5939
      @jameswindolf5939 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Totally right. For the longest time, Phil Anselmo was the heaviest I cared for. Then I had a room mate who constantly played hardcore and death metal. I have always liked some classical music, so the music appealed to me right away, but "If only the singer would shut the fuck up". Before long, Darkest Hour, Something Must Die, and Black Dahlia murder were some of my favorites, vocals and all, and over a decade later, still are. This was an easy transgression as I was already really into thrash. Davey's vocals still haven't grown on me over the years, but I still listen to them. To "TimedRevolver". If you like this but don't like the vocals much, you may want to check out Nightwish.

    • @TimedRevolver
      @TimedRevolver 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James Windolf I actually do like Nightwish.
      As for the vocals, I don't mind the screaming if the song has some form of melody. Slipknot would be a good example, i think.
      Corey does a lot of screaming, but he adds in melody too.

    • @OfficalRavoos
      @OfficalRavoos 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      TimedRevolver If you have not heard or listen to them: Five finger death punch do the same, but in some songs it's just screaming while others it's both melody and scream or just meldoy.

    • @TimedRevolver
      @TimedRevolver 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      OfficalRavoos I like Five Finger Death Punch. Far Frome Home and Undone are awesome, as is Over and Under It, which is the perfect example of what I like; the mix of screaming with a melodic chorus.

    Dark, beautiful, sad, poetic, emotional song. Also an amazing collab. You don't really find music like this anymore. It's really sad that most people in the comments are around my age, there's no doubt this music along with the other bands of my childhood doesn't really reach many kids today. I remember back in school it was more popular to be into rock and metal, and join bands and all that. People seem to channel their energy and emotion much differently.

      O CoF tem uma carreira sólida no black metal. Muitos álbuns e uma sonoridade que não se fica na zona de conforto. Mas essa canção e seu clipe se eternizaram. É uma excelente poeta de entrata para ouvir um pouco mais as sonoridades e atmosferas do gênero. Um clássico.

    The first time I ever heard cradle it was a track from thornography. It shortly lead me to this song. My younger high school self didn't realize it but I had become a metalhead for life. It took several more years before I could appreciate from the cradle to enslave though. If not for songs like this I would never have gotten into the heavier stuff.

    en el 2005 me encontraba estudiando la preparatoria y mi hermano menor me mostro esta canción que desde un principio me pareció formidable, tanto que quise compartirla con una novia que tenia en aquel entonces, no me dijo nada cuando la escucho pero su simple semblante me dio a entender que estaba impactada por decir lo menos y no en el mejor sentido, nunca mas volvimos a escucharla juntos y desde entonces supe que este genero musical no era para todo el mundo, sin embargo, yo aun sigo disfrutando mucho esta canción y otras mas del mismo genero aun cuando los años han pasado me hacen sentir como aquel jovencito de principio de los 2000 que prefería escuchar estas melodías como un gusto personal y privado.
