So I finally received mine from The Lost Co. I must say this is the best iteration of all the AXS controllers on the market. So many angles for adjustments and the clicks are crisp and solid. The second best iteration is the original AXS controller IMO.
I do miss the tactile feel of mechanical X01 and XX1 but AXS is right up there on the podium. Setup is so easy and I don’t need to deal with cable routing or tuning shifting. AXS just worked flawless out of the box. Just had to make 3 clicks on the micro adjust and shifting is smooth as butter. I find X01 AXS shifts better than XX1 AXS.
I couldn’t wait for the separate upgrade, so I just had to buy the complete Rocker Pod and it is so much better. I just lay my thumb on it in the middle and then either push up to move to a lighter gear or down for a higher gear. The only thing is that despite tightening the T25 bolt pretty much it still can happen to me that it comes a bit loose and turns … that is really annoying. Is this a known problem? I will try my next ride with even tighter but it states only 2 Nm🤔
Can you swap the rocker onto the ultimate? I have the ultimate controller but wondering if i can just buy the upgrade or if i have to swap the whole controller.
@@FoVision Hi, yes you can just buy the upgrade and swap the rocker onto your ultimate, The upgrade kit isn’t available till around August in most countries unfortunately.
@@LangfuWei but if the bolt attachment get damaged, it wont be fixed imo The new one can get raplaced since the plastic would brake leaving the important part hopefully still functional. Maybe im wrong
Been looking for that elusive upgrade kit. Haven’t found it so far. Any tips on where to find it? Riding my pod with a button missing for like 6 months . I hate it .
I kind of get what you're thinking here, but I find with the big buttons as they are, you have to extend your thumb a long way to the lower one. This means an uncomfortable 'finger only' bar grip at that point. I'm not usually shifting and braking at the same time so that's not the issue for me.
And yet many people choose Shimano because of their index finger ‘trigger shift’ function. I have two bikes with Shimano drivetrains and almost exclusively use the trigger shift… why would you need to brake if you are shifting up? I can’t think of a single situation in the last 5 years where this has caused me any issues.
at 1:41 I've found that the best tool to open the cover is the _new_ CR2032 cell you are installing. (and to close, the old cell)

I’m be had one about a month and so pleased with it . Was never taken by the up and down buttons controller
I heard you mention " it is still not as good as a traditional shifter" ! I feel the same way, thinking about going back to mechanical
Yes, will be interesting to see what Shimano come out in the future.

How does it compare from the standard AXS controller (if you’ve used it)?
Can you use this with the reverb axs seatpost?
@@michaelmusilek7517 Yes it can be used with the axs reverb.
What adapter / clamp are you using to attached the pod to your shift clamp?
I am using the Hope Tech 4 Sram T-Type Shifter Mount, part number HBSP441RN

Is it upgrade to the new one? Which one is lighter?
Oh I didn’t notice that in your video.
To be honest, the older one would more fashionable😂

Thanks 🙏🏻
The wait for this to come out is giving me massive anxiety.
First one still the best. Hate the new controller.
@@lakaldrak Do you use the original AXS paddle or the rocker paddle?
@@jedmtb yes the original. Faster shifting for me. Rocker paddle has to much play so i changed to Standard.
Does this new version have that dreaded play that the rocker paddle on original AXS has?
@@GokkunGuru No play on the ones I have, the tolerances seem much better than the old design.
@@lakaldrak yes i also orderd the old one for my new stumpjumper evo
Man there's no need to use your index finger for changing gears. Your index finger is intended for one finger breaking.
