    As always, very good video!
My new PC has arrived! I'm playing X-Plane 12 with everything at maximum with a least 70 FPS, which is very good progress comparing to my old setup!
And I just bought MSFS 2020 to check it out!
    Merry Christmas mate!

@@thenerdyhelisimmer4608 Comparing to MSFS to X-Plane: it's just beautiful graphics. The helis feel veeeery sloooooow and unresponsive... sluggish... laggy... you give a command and it takes forever to respond... It feels the helicopter is so slow, when close to the ground, it says 40 knots, and it feels 3 knots... disappointed with MSFS... it just has gorgeous graphics, that's all.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have any wrong configuration or something deactivated (I configured to be realist, turned every assistive option off) ?

I agree it took some key binding to get things right to fly it . The odd thing I had to bind propeller increase axis and propeller decrease axis to the twist throttle get that function up to work. Over all Msfs has a long way before it becomes a true rotor aircraft simulator for starters make a true rotor profile for helicopters.

Rotor Texture is'nt missing. It's a standard Bell scheme so the disc is more visible due to strobing from above :) Below 22FPS is uncontrollable. Turn your settings down a bit.

Control lag must be a msfs thing some people have it like in the cabri. I have zero control lag issues.
It’s seems to vary person to person.
The sliding fix is in the latest update.
As with the collective it’s really sensitive smaller movements than usual, but agree this could use a little tweaking.
As for the FM from my experience irl in a 206 it’s really good, I just think even at 30fps it’s not really helping, cause as I said I have zero lag in my controls even at 80 sensitivity.

    • @Jigsaw407
      @Jigsaw407 ปีที่แล้ว +1

There is something else going on with his sim. That stutter when he turns his head is not normal. Yeah, I found the Flyinside 206 slighter harder on the performance than other aircraft, but that's mostly on the external view. Inside the cockpit it's fine. I'm running it at 1080p on a i7-8700k (3,7 GHz) with an RTX 3060 Ti and get around 50-60 fps. On DirectX 11. DirectX 12 is worse on my system.

Nerdy, do you ever fly the helos in DCS? (edit: Nvm, just read a comment of your DCS opinion below 😂) I just got into it and I like the flight model better than XP. There's a UH-60L mod which is free and DCS is free, so it'll just take a little time to download to try it. Just a heads up to a fellow helo driver 👍

I found frame rate an issue with the FI 206, and I've got a fairly high end machine (5900X / RTX3080) running HDR at 3440*1440 with DLSS enabled. I did a comparison between the FI 206 and the HYPE H145 on Aogashima, a small island to the south of Tokyo which has a freeware helipad available. The H145 was usually around the low 60s or above, but the FI B206 had to be away from the ground before it would pick up that sort of frame rate. On takeoff and around the ground, it was down sub-30 often. I did this side-by-side because I tried flying the 206 out of Tokyo Heliport the other day and found the frame rate to be dreadful even in flight (maxing out around 30) due to the objects around Tokyo.
I just bought the CowanSim 206, I'll be curious to see how that handles in comparison. Given it's not running a 3rd-party software manager like Flyinside, I would expect it to be considerably better. For the record, I've flown the Flyinside 47 around the same site without issue.

FlyInside's implementation of external flight modeling in combination with the Helimanager module is horribly optimized in terms of CPU fiber frame use. This is the reason everyone is having FPS issues and stuttering. Quite frankly, FlyInside's programming technique is inexcusable and unfixable, barring a complete ground-up rewrite of the codebase. This situation first manifested itself with FlyInside's Bell 47 for MSFS2020, and they made a few meager attempts to fix the issue, but it was a minimal effort. The CowanSim 206 may just make FlyInside irrelevant, which is not a bad thing at all. ;)

Great video with some useful information! I have it too, and I don't have any FPS issues in the sim. My software is up to date, and still, the inertia is way too huge, and the cyclic feels completely sluggish. I have serious troubles controlling this heli, especially during pickup and landing. Haha, unfortunately not. But probably after the holidays. No high hopes with the fps. The 206 was bogging down things in XP for me as well so I don't think it'll be much different in MSFS. The question is: Is it still flyable with lower Fps. Anyway the common denominator in this is me not having a good enough computer at the moment 😄. I don't expect too much regarding the fm. It might not feel too different from the cabri/407. But I'll keep an open mind...

Looking for some advice and guidance with respect to sim helicopters. IRL I have experience with Cessnas and have spent a enough time with RC choppers to not crash. Sim wise I only starting trying to fly helicopters. Using an X-55 for controllers. I have a Logitech 3d Pro that currently has the spring removed. I am doing okay as far as not losing a lot of control like I did a few weeks ago. Hovering is passable but not much beyond that.
I think my bottleneck is with the cyclic control. Any easy solutions for getting more precise control? Would be happy to chat with some knowledgeable folks via email or Discord to speed up the learning curve. I have MSFS, XP11 and DCS helicopters.

I'd certainly prefer it over this 206.
