- This was my first official day trip in the Wisconsin Driftless. I made my way out to Richland Center with Mill Creek and her German Browns on my mind. The mid-summer humidity was thick on my skin, letting me know the day was going to get warm. I got some local knowledge about the area from my buddy Matt and he said Mill Creek would be a great place to start my driftless campaign. I rigged up two rods and in order to make the most out of each run. In hindsight I probably did not need them both, with how fast I fish holding two rods seems to slow me down. The butter balls were more than eager to take the dry as well as the dropper, and I cracked a powerful pattern.. Regardless, it was a beautiful morning full of spunky wild browns!

Rods:
-7’ 3wt GLoomis
-9’ 5wt GLoomis
(I probably should have just carried one, and the 3wt would be just about perfect for all the fish that I ran into during this morning session. I would be a little worried if I hooked into anything bigger, that is where the 5wt would be valuable.)
Line:
-Fly Line:Standard Floating Line
-Leader: 9’+ for the 5wt & 6’+ for the 3wt
-Tippet: mix of 3x & 4x (woody environment w/ high probability of getting hung up in the sticks)
Flies:
-Size 14 pink and tan foam hopper (3wt)
-Size 6 black chubby chernobyl ant (5wt “Hopper”)
-Size 10 “Gurgle Boi” Czech style forage fish (5wt “Dropper”)
Music:
LAKEY INSPIRED: Overjoyed

Would you say that this creek is accessible to somebody without waders?
How do you keep the bugs off you I swear every time I go fishing in this area I get eaten alive😭
I use that natural vanilla bug spray and it keeps those blood suckers at bay!
Great video. Is that the lower end of Mill closer to 14?
Shoot thats a good question.. I am unfamiliar with the area.. I think I took 14 to get there.. I am not sure which section I hit though!
@@FLYALLSZN Yeah, that's close to our property. It's north of 14.
