Thanks for the painstaking process of documenting your experience here. It's quite helpful. Most pedal reviews are some guy talking for 5 minutes before playing anything followed by just a couple of examples.
Glad I put in an alert reminder, just ordered mine from you guys. This will be my 6th Cornish pedal and they are fantastic, no monkey business, just solid all around tones. Great demo btw, shows the full range of available tones on the pedal. That Eq section is powerful, I use my CC-1s Eq to really shape my G-2, SS-2, NG-3 as well. Cant wait to get this pedal!
Try your Cornish ST-2 after the GC-1 and you'll play all day. Also mess with your Strat volume to control the breakup of the GC-1. At each gain level SS-3, G2 and P-2 you'll get different breakup. I need a Two Rock. Wish I could play like you! Very nice!!!!
Love how the Strat sounds through it. With that active EQ you brought the Les Paul to life, and then through different eras of tone with every slight cut/boost of a knob. I’d probably run it after a Fuzz Face, and my Russian style Muff, with a Clean boost after it, as that active EQ would be able to give me an extra lead tone for either, then have the GC on its own, with a clean boost for leads. I really wish it had an expression control. I’d really like to have that full range of the gain knob while I’m playing. I like the ones that control the sweep, so it can sound phasery or wah wah -ish, but this just needs it to sweep the gain. A multi parameter expression would be nice too. If I’ve decided to spend $650 on a drive pedal, another $50-$100 is worth Expression control over the gain. It’s a beautiful piece either way, and you’ve put the final nail in convincing me to get one. I’ll check Electric Mojo when I’m ready to buy one.
Seems very much like a Buffalo TD-X in terms of gain range, versatility, intention, although I guess the EQ is a bit more flexible with the mids control. I've got a clone pcb waiting in the wings, and when it's done I can compare them directly. But that's not a criticism -- more like high praise.
