These characters are annoying, which they are meant to be, they are in a balanced place right now, as they require teamwork to be effective, and being a good shield should be rewarding. Just because something is annoying, doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed. This isn't grenade spam or an op gun, if you get outskilled by a shield playing with his team, or in a gunfight, you messed up.

I got to say that I disagree with Matimi0’s opinion on shields. As a Monty main he can be easily be taken out with with team play, Smoke, Lesion, Oryx, Frost, the new Tachanka, and good explosive placement. My friend knows how to counter me because he saw how scary I am with Monty so he asked to to help him learn and he found out that the shields have a slow turning speed. So he uses fast operative such as Ela to shotgun them into oblivion. So in my opinion is that people just can’t take the time to learn how to counter an operative and find it easier to complain so til the operative gets a nerf.

I think Bikinibodhi got it right in his video about clashs nerf: shields are supposed to be annoying. I think bringing monty the melee knockback clash has could have been enough. Also for plane to make thd map wider: crashed plane in a stationary plane, basically 2 planes next to each other that are interconnected. Could be 2 very different planes to make the map more variant, one high class and one for passengers or transport

What do you think of an operator that can throw a gadget that deploys a hard foam substance? It would act as a soft wall after deployed. This could fill in holes in walls/opened hatches, and it could be deployed on a soft wall to creat a double soft wall (takes 2 sledge hits) to remove the situational aspect.
I've been watching Matimi0 since BF3. The bang on, unwavering, inhuman consistency of the Mailbox intro is like a comfort blanket. Mat is one of the most mind-blowingly consistent TH-camrs on the scene and I have so much respect for that. The quality is always super high, interesting, and generally excellent. Blitz is a rushing operator so you wouldn’t have to worry about a defender C4s. Fuze shouldn’t be running a small shield over the best gun in the game.

You realize he mentioned how they nerfed the rotation speed. You physically can’t swing your shield to protect your body once the guard break goes through. It’s a dumb addition to an otherwise good nerf. I think if they removed the rotation speed nerf it would be perfect.
Take shield break away for Monty but also take away his side extendos or atleast cut the length of it in half. Leave the top & bottom for a good defense but make him able to be hit from the side a little easier.. Shield break is a little too much of a nerf imo.

I have to disagree with Matt here. This nerf definitely goes too far and he even acknowledged that shield ops aren’t even picked that much or that they don’t have too crazy of a win rate. So then why is he so gung-ho about this nerf? I never though shields were broken ever. When I saw one I would just think, “that’s annoying” and then I’d try and find a counter. Simple. Shields bring a different dynamic to the game and with this nerf, it will most certainly kill a vital part of the tactical edge that the offense can get over the defense.

What do you think of a 2 speed 2 armor attack operator with a spider drone? The drone can climb walls, walk on the roof, and shoot small caliber ammo to destroy gadgets, but it is limited to three 10 round magazines that do 5 damage per round. And it has the yokai effect to go invisible when on the roof.

Sunday Mailbox suggestion What do you think about giving an extra reinforcement to 3 armored operators on defense, so if you have two 3-armored operators, the reinforcement pool would be 12, and on attack they could maybe have an extra secondary gadget. Although the slight damage reduction is nice, the benefits of playing a 3 armored operator doesn’t help very much at the higher ranks because a headshot will take them out instantly, and higher speed operators are more desirable. They would have to make a couple exceptions because having two secondary hard breach gadgets would probably be too powerful, but I though that it might be an interesting way at trying the even the balance of operators

Matt just because YOU don’t know how to deal with a Monty doesn’t mean that they are nearly impossible to deal with. Shield operators help switch up plays and forces people to stop doing the same thing. People like you need to stop crying to Ubisoft about shield ops before they change the game to be pretty much Call of Duty but with 1 shot headshot.
Yes, cause call of duty has destructible surfaces that can create vertical play, utility that helps you defend or push into sites, and intelligence gathering tools that help people make better callouts. You could make the plane be crashed into the terminal, the rubble would create the walls, rooms and corridors, this would work around the need for a bridge or tunnel to get into the plane and it would have a very different look to anything we've seen until now

I said it for years, the winrate flaw between attack and defense could be solved if attackers were allowed to change operators during preparation phase. Then droning during preparation phase would be more meaningful, you could decide on this intel which point and with which operators to attack. At the same time it could indirectly buff niche operators like Fuze, who is only good at certain bomb sites and awful on others.
Do you think they should rework Hostage? I find the game mode to be very problematic for two reasons; there is only one objective making it very clustered and messy, the other problem is once the attackers grab the hostage they basically win the round because they now have a human shield and once they step out side they instantly win. I think these problems could be fixed if they made the goal to move the hostage to another part of the building and making the hostage have to be escorted to this area of the building for maybe 30 seconds. I also think they could add this 30 seconds mechanic and make it longer, but they would also need to remove the detected status of the defenders when the hostage is moved. These two solutions will remove the fact attackers instantly win when the hostage is picked up and make the game mode more interesting with a second phase.

I think Bikinibodhi got it right in his video about clashs nerf: shields are supposed to be annoying. I think bringing monty the melee knockback clash has could have been enough. Also for plane to make thd map wider: crashed plane in a stationary plane, basically 2 planes next to each other that are interconnected. Could be 2 very different planes to make the map more variant, one high class and one for passengers or transport

The whole point of monty is what you say at 1:30. He only has a pistol. His ability to lock down doors as an attacker and give callouts is his only way to "attack"

What do you think of an operator that can throw a gadget that deploys a hard foam substance? It would act as a soft wall after deployed. This could fill in holes in walls/opened hatches, and it could be deployed on a soft wall to creat a double soft wall (takes 2 sledge hits) to remove the situational aspect.

I've been watching Matimi0 since BF3. The bang on, unwavering, inhuman consistency of the Mailbox intro is like a comfort blanket. Mat is one of the most mind-blowingly consistent TH-camrs on the scene and I have so much respect for that. The quality is always super high, interesting, and generally excellent. Blitz is a rushing operator so you wouldn’t have to worry about a defender C4s.
Fuze shouldn’t be running a small shield over the best gun in the game.

@@hazzy5714, they nerfed his flashing range, he can only flash every 7 seconds, he has to melee a person twice to kill them, his ads time is super slow, and now he can get staggered easier.
You realize he mentioned how they nerfed the rotation speed. You physically can’t swing your shield to protect your body once the guard break goes through. It’s a dumb addition to an otherwise good nerf. I think if they removed the rotation speed nerf it would be perfect.

Leave the top & bottom for a good defense but make him able to be hit from the side a little easier..

This is exactly what monty was when the game came out then. He only had a body length shield so they added the side bits.

I have to disagree with Matt here. This nerf definitely goes too far and he even acknowledged that shield ops aren’t even picked that much or that they don’t have too crazy of a win rate. So then why is he so gung-ho about this nerf? I never though shields were broken ever. When I saw one I would just think, “that’s annoying” and then I’d try and find a counter. Simple. Shields bring a different dynamic to the game and with this nerf, it will most certainly kill a vital part of the tactical edge that the offense can get over the defense.
But how do I come up with counter like clash when Ubi locks my dpi...I can't even change direction when I get melee on my shield.
What do you think about removing pre placed barricades to help the attacking team push better to level out the defense/attack ratio?

What do you think of a 2 speed 2 armor attack operator with a spider drone? The drone can climb walls, walk on the roof, and shoot small caliber ammo to destroy gadgets, but it is limited to three 10 round magazines that do 5 damage per round. And it has the yokai effect to go invisible when on the roof.
Hey, here's a question for monday mailbox. How would you feel about having an attacker that could baricade doors. It will help us cover our backs, and give us a distinct sound cue for the rotates. Maybe they could give him a limited number of barricades to balance him.

Biggest downside to fuze is how your vulnerable putting ur shit down and you cant reach half the places u can put it down.

What do you think about giving an extra reinforcement to 3 armored operators on defense, so if you have two 3-armored operators, the reinforcement pool would be 12, and on attack they could maybe have an extra secondary gadget. Although the slight damage reduction is nice, the benefits of playing a 3 armored operator doesn’t help very much at the higher ranks because a headshot will take them out instantly, and higher speed operators are more desirable. They would have to make a couple exceptions because having two secondary hard breach gadgets would probably be too powerful, but I though that it might be an interesting way at trying the even the balance of operators
Hey do you think the attackers should have an operator that can heal their team like Doc does or just give Finka the same healing pistol doc has so she can heal her allies

I think primary gadgets should time out, like run with some sort of battery, like balk cams run for 45 seconds or 1.5 minutes, melusi gadget times out after being affected by it etc... my point is that this can solve the utility meta and makes the game more strategical, a lot of operators in defense can die at the start of the match and still have a big impact to the round, thoughts?

Yes, cause call of duty has destructible surfaces that can create vertical play, utility that helps you defend or push into sites, and intelligence gathering tools that help people make better callouts. I don't know why people think that this change is showing that ubi is slowing turning siege into cod, like how? This doesn't change any core mechanics of the game or shows us that siege is going in the direction of cod.
What do you think about an operator who can throw down a bag of helmets and make it so that instead of 1 bullet for a insta kill maybe 2. And they could make it so that marksmen rifles could 1 shot when ever?
You could make the plane be crashed into the terminal, the rubble would create the walls, rooms and corridors, this would work around the need for a bridge or tunnel to get into the plane and it would have a very different look to anything we've seen until now

I said it for years, the winrate flaw between attack and defense could be solved if attackers were allowed to change operators during preparation phase.
Then droning during preparation phase would be more meaningful, you could decide on this intel which point and with which operators to attack.
At the same time it could indirectly buff niche operators like Fuze, who is only good at certain bomb sites and awful on others.

Do you think they should rework Hostage? I find the game mode to be very problematic for two reasons; there is only one objective making it very clustered and messy, the other problem is once the attackers grab the hostage they basically win the round because they now have a human shield and once they step out side they instantly win. I think these problems could be fixed if they made the goal to move the hostage to another part of the building and making the hostage have to be escorted to this area of the building for maybe 30 seconds. I also think they could add this 30 seconds mechanic and make it longer, but they would also need to remove the detected status of the defenders when the hostage is moved. These two solutions will remove the fact attackers instantly win when the hostage is picked up and make the game mode more interesting with a second phase.
Might as well remove shields from the game.
I was thinking of even playing blitz some time later.
