It would be one thing if she wasn’t aware that there was an effort to put Aegon on the throne over her, but she was. My overall frustration with Rhaenyra boils down to her lack of strategy and preparation. Hopefully, going forward we see her being more capable and demonstrate more leadership qualities. I would like to see her get ahold of her council or get new members who can serve her better.

31:05, reading the book fills in a lot of piece about Aemond and his inner thinking. Aemond originally wasn't going to pursue Lucerys after he left Storm's End (as seen in Season 1 finale). But one of Lord Borros Baratheon's daughters who was the least attractive and Aemond had slighted began to speak out of turn. She egged him about his missing eye and accused him of having no manhood in front of everyone. His eye and his masculinity seems to be a trigger for Aemond and he just lost his calm. Lord Borros let him leave and the rest is sad Westeros history. 😥
This was a great episode with so much going on. Daemon is constantly hallucinating seeing those of the past that haunts him as he's trying to gather soldiers from Harrenhal. Alicent still processing with what happened with her reunion with Rhaenyra as well did Viserys choose Aegon as heir to the stone. Is asking the Maester for some tea in which she takes in which appears she's pregnant by the way she touch her stomach. In which I feel Larys Strong knows during their conversation. Aegon is not liking that he's not being respected. As Aemond and Cole makes decisions behind his back. You can see the tension between Aegon and Aemond as Aemond want to get back at Aegon for embarrassing him at the brothel. As well Alicent showing her disappointment in him with Aegon killing the Ratcatchers and removing his father as Hand. In which pushes Aegon to take part in the battlefield. Cole who took down Duskendale, Rosby and Darkyln. Forcing some men of Darkyln to side with the Greens as Cole killed Lord Darkyln. With his hand arriving at Dragonstone in which forces Rhaenys to go into the battle knowing that Rhaenyra is important to the throne as she's expandable. The battle with Dragons so well done. Damn Aemond really tried to take Aegon out along with Rhaenys lol. RIP to Rhaenys who died on the battlefield. I'm looking forward episode 5. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. The men on the council didn’t respect Rhaenys either Rhaenys should have just left after she grounded Vhaegar and yes I know that she would have left the castle to fall but she needed back up to be fully effective in getting Vhaegar fully grounded (which is what she was trying to do)
in season 1 Viserys said Daemon and Rhaenyra both had the fire of the dragon in them but it turns out Rhaenyra's more like her father than like Daemon, she's being overly cautious and futilely trying to avoid conflict even while men are already fighting and dying for her claim.
My problem with the show rn is how everyone is so dismissive of black council. They are at times a bit snarky but they have been correct from day 1 but are constantly getting shut by Rhae and her girls. Imagine being a lord in black council, the greens are coming for your head, your queen has no standing army and she refuses to semd dragons. And then disappears at such crucial time without telling anyone
Otto Hightower and the counsel that sat for Visery were plotting to take the throne from Rhaenyra for almost two decades so why would Rhaenyra trust any of them. Rhaenyra knew from the time Aegon was born that again the Hightower's were after the throne she didn't know who to trust other than Daemond so who could she make alignment with. And finally Otto Hand of the King and the High Counsel of King Jhareys time really began the plot against the Targaryens , they chose Visery over Rhaneys not only because she was a woman but they knew they couldn't control Corlys , same as making Rhaenyra heir over Daemond. No matter what Rhaenyra did or does this war was going to happen.
Next episode you'll understand why dragon fighting scares everyone. The smallfolks are the ones who will be the carnage. Dragon fighting for just the crown is suicidal. Its like countries using their nukes for battles that can be solved with only ground troops. For example Ukraine.
Rhaenyra is kind and level headed, but she SHOULD have started all out violent from the get go, sadly. Caraxes and Meleys together would have ended this war.
Rhaenys was a terrible person,. She killed a lot of peasants for nothing on episode 9, only to show off power. And after that she was always been hypocritical. She for sure would not been a good ruler.
Rhaenyra reluctance to dragon warfare is completely justifiable when you see what dragon warfare is actually like. That kind of carnage serves no one.
