Nothing wrong with F1. A true F1 would be 2 landrace. Using hybrids to make other hybrids are poly hybrids. F1 will show no recessive traits, F2 starts to show the recessive traits you can’t see in F1. For example the color purple might be in the genotype but not the phenotype in the F1 but going on to F2 will start to relieve the magic. This topic is huge and should be discussed further. 💯
Yes, you put it well. That actually made me realize it's a lot like vegetable breeding. You can get F1 hybrid tomato seed, which all grow into uniform plants. However, when seeds from those fruits are planted, there is a huge diversity in those offspring.
Here in VA the legal plant count is just 4. Nobody is counting, but I can't be popping 100 beans to find a pretty plant. I buy feminized seeds and smoke whatever they grow. So in my case I kind of need some predictability. I don't think F1 seeds are my best option. It would be great to have the room and be able to pheno hunt and breed. But for now I just want seeds that grow a decent harvest of nice buds.
The Number one problem is when u do tiny small hunts your chocking off the genetic and it will eventually be gone. Cause say u pop 50 and u find a good one but had u popped a 1000 there might be 50 good ones from that pop and everyone of those 50 are way better than the one from the 50 pop. So if your going to be a breeder that is selling seeds I hope your big enough to pop 1000’s so we carry on the best it can be or we’re just chocking ever genetic off from what it could be. Another thing u can get to F5 only popping 10 at a time and u can get to F5 by popping 10,000 at a time so see how it needs be huge pheno hunts. Humboldt seed company probably does some of the biggest hunts out there.
Breed a male and female F1. Breed the F2 male to 2 F2 females. Selectively breed the 2 lines separately for 4 generations. Take the best male and female from the "Final" generations of the 2 sister lines and cross them. The resulting generation will be a "P1/F1" generation. *Due to the inbreeding separately of the 2 lines, that'll make the genetics so far apart/ mixed, that the resulting generation becomes stable.
Finally I agree with Rob on something. The descriptions are bullshit from most sellers and breeders when you are limited plant counts. They leave out too many specifics.
we bread with the same plant male to female brother sister for 17 years so your saying i had f17 meh its all people wanting to earn more cash saying they are better the more they breed down a line and the plants we grew where not very different we never had problems with the seeds growing they all smelled the same but shyt happens and when it was ilegal we lost alot of beans and plants so my opinion means nothing i know but just saying most of what you hear is all a money grab for a good story on how things came about look at kyle kushman he said he brought pollen to canada in the 90's cause we was legal then we did not have medical till 2001 so just a story hes fabricated over the years to make himself look kool in other's eyes same with my seeds are better then your seeds who cares grow them enjoy them dont say this is the worst weed cause mybe its not for you its meant for someone else
great info 😎

Thanks for the explanation sir much appreciated
Thankyou !!
I go on reviews. And if they say expert grower they mean they plant is fussy and don't like certain things.

@BirdieBlrrrd I don't have room to pheno hunt. It's not that I don't want to.
Appreciate the info
Let's grow
i love the hunt🤘✌️
Love the hunt
I would be Honored to sprinkle some chill out OG Pollen on My Trap House Strain
You don’t want complete stability as a geno hunter.

Most great weed came from bag seed .
i mean.. most of these amateur breeders dont even comprehend what stable genetics actually are.
F1s are only "bad" if you're look for homozygous traits among it's offspring, if you're looking for variety or vigor F1s are where it's at.
What if all you want is F-1's from a landrace plant

3-4 year project.

Finally!
Who were the makers of that UVC light you were speaking of at the show?@@WatchCLtv
GML
Bonus is when you they are F1 's of already worked lines.
For consistency stick with your f4s. If youre pheno-hunting, f1s are the way to start.
What happened to the dark shades 😂😂
