If I was Zak Brown, I'd let Freddie do a showrun of his dad's 1976 Mclaren at Silverstone since Freddie is a decent driver and a showrun like that could raise Freddie's profile a bit...👀

I mean this sounds like an incredible idea to us… Would be amazing. Be drove one of his dads cars at Silvo before but would be amazing if we could make that happen this year. Lets hope some magic happens haha

I remarked such before I found your post. I think we need to ask Ron Dennis what he knows. He was pretty keen to do well on the McLaren brand, and he went to great lengths. Proper Bond Villan personality. Who'd put it past him?

He sounds so much like his father that it feels like we are talking to his father. I only know what I've seen in videos and going back and watching the older races when James was commentating with Murray but still. Thanks very much lads for this podcast, it was fascinating! Thanks Freddie for being on and providing us with videos and pictures :D! He seems incredibly down to earth and is very funny as well.

FABULOUS! Thank you for having invited one who is obviously talented, has great visions in matter of sustainability, and is, by all means, extremely deserving of the genes and heredity that was bestowed [and instilled] in him. For those of my generation who witnessed, who epitomized what is almost surely the last of the ''Gentlemen Racing Team'' ever with Lord Hesketh, repeating the feat already attained before by Ken Tyrrell, transforming a regular March F1 to a top contender racing car

It's crazy to me how genetic some skills are. This guy got into a race car for the first time within a year of getting his driver's license, has never done karting before, and was faster than most of the field. It's insane.
Also, he's such a genuine person. I understand what he means when he says his dad was innocent and humble, because here he is, quite literally bragging how fast he is and dissing his competition by calling them slow, and I don't feel an ounce of ill will from his words. He's just saying it how it is.

Freddie was just a little kid when James died, him saying his dad was humble is complete bullshit. Everyone that has ever talked about James said the same thing, he was an arrogant and a cocky guy. The dude was sleeping around and living the life. The irony of hearing someone with his surname and clear hunger and talent to drive struggling for sponsorship and funding to go racing depicts exactly where motorsport is going wrong. It is the most elitist sport in the world and the spectators and the sport are suffering because of it. Every season that goes by motorsport becomes less relatable and in my opinion as a motorsport fan it becomes more predictable and less engaging. I had to give up at 15 because the lad who donated me kart chassis and parts graduated to single seaters, and for a lad from a single parent household struggling to make ends meet that was the end of that. Most other sports embrace talent and scouting talent and motorsport could learn a thing or two from them. Ultimately any sport becomes successful because of the talent competing, football, boxing, American football and athletics as examples hit peaks when they uncover a superstar, not when they field competitors brought forward by cheque books. Incredible content and a fascinating watch lads.

Even if they just put him on sky f1. On race day and have him work with Brundall and JB.

Freddie might want to update his strategy unless he's using LMP2 as a stepping stone to hypercar because LMP2 isn't going to be part of WEC from 2024
