From Season 3, Episode 5: "Chicanery"
He wasn't always Saul Goodman, ace attorney for chemist-turned-meth dealer Walter White. Six years before he begins to represent Albuquerque's most notorious criminal, Goodman is Jimmy McGill, a small-time attorney hustling to make a name for himself. He's a forceful champion for his low-income clients, an underdog whose morals and ambitions often clash. Jimmy works with private eye Mike Ehrmantraut, a former Philadelphia cop and recent transplant to the Southwest. Mike has a specialized skill set -- he's a "fixer" of sticky situations -- that Jimmy soon learns to appreciate.

Love the intense hesitation you can see on Jimmy’s face before he reveals the battery in his pocket, he knows he’s about to ruin Chuck’s career
Jimmy learned from the 'not a real lawyer scene' that all it took for Chuck to go on an emotional rant was to suddenly lose control and suddenly be pulled out of comfort. Jimmy does the exact same thing here he did in that scene, letting Chuck think he was in control and Jimmy was grasping at straws, then suddenly confronting Chuck with undeniable evidence. Jimmy's face when he asks Chuck to check his pocket... he knew this moment would destroy Chuck's career.
That and going to the insurance because Jimmy didn't do anything illegal, all he did was get them to start the process of going after Chuck and HHM.
Bitter sweet scene. Because Chuck was conned. And hes right... Jimmy cant stop. However all Jimmy needs to be happy is to be accepted by his bigger bro. Maybe he would of quit the con-game
They're both the same yet different 2 sides of the same coin.
The apex of Jimmy McGill was returning the free million dollar kettleman bag. This was the peak of honest intent in changing his ways, the promise he made for chuck to bust him out of prison in olden days. But, once more. Chuck doesnt give him a choice. Remember? It all started when they wanted to stole Kim's client. Jimmy is never gonna let that happen. Since then its been a battle of both bringing the worst out of each other and eventually chuck favourite nightmare became real. Saul Goodman.
"Stealing them blind!"
A much younger Chuck came out for a moment.
Chicanery will always be one of the best television episodes ever.
Love the super subtle camera angle shifting as he goes deeper and deeper into his rant.
I'm sure this goes without saying too, especially since you've pointed out the main detail of this already, but I also appreciate how as soon as he catches himself and seems to realize the trap he's fallen in, the camera zooms or moves back out. I've equated to this like when a constrictor keeps tightening its grasp, only to release after the prey is done for.
Yelling that you're not crazy is not a good start, especially when your lawyer was making a point.
Chuck can’t put all the blame on Jimmy is not all his fault that there father lost the store where was Chuck when his father was getting ripped off by strangers at College studying to become a Lawyer. Chuck never had a real conversation with Jimmy about there dad and he’s built all his hatred on him for being the favourite child being the apple of his parents eyes.
Plus, he still believed the address was 1216, not 1261, which made Mesa Verde drop him and HHM. Even Paige told Kim how Chuck was an asswhole arguing about the address.
@@DaScorpionStingfr I like how Paige hated Chuck lmao
I like Chuck here. He's pegged Jimmy. Later seasons (esp. season six) that Jimmy is an incorrigible con man.
He had a sweet deal (unintentional pun) managing the Cinnabon shop in Omaha, but he just had to commit crime after crime, after crime. Cost him big time in the end.
This was such a great moment to me. I couldn’t wait for something like this to happen to him 😅 and crazy part is, he was right about everything 😂😂 Their acting is TOP TIER *chefs kiss*
Not everything, Chuck only told half the story about their father's store putting all blame on Jimmy. The other part is that people have been stealing money taking advantage of their father's kindness.
“He defecated through a sunroof!!”
Such a satisfying episode, I absolutely hated Chuck so this was so enjoyable to watch.
This scene was genius. I cannot hate this drama.
Jimmy's plans are so simple and silly, everyone could see through his plan yet they think it's way too silly to happen😂
Chuck was the worst brother
Chuck, a little tip for you: screaming “I am not crazy!” is a great way to get people to think you’re crazy.
Chuck is angry because his younger brother who took care of him, now wants to become a lawyer instead living the rest of his life as a conman, A good big brother would be proud to see his little bro change but not Chuck!
Chuck says that one of the reasons for his anger is Saul's "University of Momoa" graduation certificate but that's BS!
He would still be angry and would continue to demotivate Saul even if he would have graduated from the same law school as Chuck did.
That's because the reason for his anger is the fact that his conman brother wouldn't go to jail anymore because he is a "LAWYER" now! Chuck never imagined of Jimmy as a lawyer. He always imagined him as "Slippin Jimmy" who always begged his lawyer brother to bail him out.
So tell me guy, who's the superior one? Is it the Lawyer or the Conman? The Lawyer, ofcourse! Chuck, being a lawyer also had the feeling of superiority over his con-man brother.
But since Saul has become a lawyer, now Chuck can't let go the fact of loosing his superiority and he can't accept the reality of his brother becoming a lawyer. That's the only reason for his anger, not all those "momoa university" BS !
I can prove myself with just one line of Chuck's himself and that is, "You really never mattered to me Jimmy!".
Edit: 3:07 another proof that Chuck doesn't want Saul to be called as a lawyer because he didn't want Saul to get the love, superiority, power and respect which he gets! Chucky wanted them all by himself!
Howard high as shit.
😂😂😂 what?! 😂
The whole chuck thing was so cringe worthy ridiculous. No one would appease him for all his crazy nonsense and put up with it.
This is the Chicanery moment became Crime City upload Chicanery Heisenberg.
Hallelujah!
Holy Shit!
Where's the Tylenol?
Deep cut! Watch it every Christmas.
This Chicanery!!
Capt. Queeg scene from The Caine Mutiny.
Great acting of a sick deranged attorney…
I do in some part feel bad for chuck because the things about the copying shop and the billboard were actually true.
Yeah, it's just the way he said it is what made him look bad and is on record in a public court that's why Howard wasn't happy here.
I hate chuck and Howard
Chuck grunts a little when he picks up the phone because he isn't certain there's no battery. Great detail.
