I've bought different types of "mystery boxes". Some are horrible, some okay, and some are great. It's all a gamble just like buying a pack from the store so I guess you can't complain, but my favorite was the "Pokemon Card 30 Card Lot! CHARIZARD GUARANTEED/ Holo RARES/ Ultra RARES/ 1 Pack" . I think that the contents were good...not amazing or anything but the packaging was so fun. It is just like an original Base Set Booster pack so it felt like I was Opening a super old pack from my childhood. Most cards were modern but it was just so fun.
New to selling and grading cards. Do you prefer to have your cards graded by PSA or Beckett? Is one better than the other and does one have a better sale return?
If you open the packs you can't count the value of the original packs anymore. You should take the value of the cards. And since you didn't pack such good cards the total value you calculated is quite on the high side I would say
I love pokemon but even buying a $6 pack with $0.37 worth of cards in them even seems criminalistic to me especially when geared mostly towards children its a horrible gamble 75% of the time

No, they shouldn't always, it entirely depends on who you're buying it from.The only reason companies like MJ can even make products that lose money like mystery boxes (and they don't even get that right) is because they make so much money on all the other pokemon shit they sell, that getting rid of this inventory actually saves them money on storage costs even though they might "lose" potential profits. That kind of logic doesn't work with individual mystery box sellers who are usually buying their packs at retail or from booster boxes and putting them into a box which is basically gambling.

Aside from all the other complaints, can I just say that usability aside, I actually really enjoyed the artwork from steam siege. There aren't many instances of steam punk-ish motifs in Pokémon art from what I've seen before.

Phantom forces is special to me as it's the first set I got back into the game as an adult. Night march was insane and loved the Gengar! My first modern booster box was Flashfire but of course my Luck is awful so didn't pull a single Charizard! 🙈 I skipped steam siege, & both breakthrough & point as saw they were lame. But was a crazy time of the game and I had complete sets of XY, phantom forces, Flashfire and furious fists at one point! . Sold them years ago when still new and didn't sell them for much at all 😢
I honestly cant believe Seismitoad is only $40 in a psa 10, that card was so present and memorable in its time in the tcg. Just because of how much it was used I would've presumed it would hold that nostalgic value for competitive people haha
Nice mystery boxes from Collector's Cache for the value of what you get. I think that's the key on the mystery boxes is buying from someone with a good reputation that you can trust to know you will at least get your money's worth
Had some mystery products I was selling of vintage packs, had rares, 1st editions, holos, commons/uncommons, plus a free bonus card - all for £29.95, free international shipping, just did it for fun the profit is practically non-existent - but, eBay took the listing down for chance listings after I sold 300+, they suck big time.
XY series were still weighable right? That’s probably what you’re getting in the boxes. Doesn’t mean you can’t get anything but probably less likely that you will. Just an opinion though.
I have bad memories every time I see phantom forces. I pulled the silver dialga as a kid and sold it for 5 dollars..... never hated myself more when I found out the value

ive seen non pokemon related freezer tumblers like that sell for 30+...i wouldnt be surprised if that tumbler retails for the full value of the box at 40
I feel like the one problem with poketubers opening mystery boxes is that the seller needs to make a profit so they can’t give you the same amount of value of product as the item. Also shipping shouldn’t be counted as part of the price for making u the value. The seller doesn’t usually profit of shipping it is for paying shipping

I’ve done a lot of business with collectors cash and they’re always trustworthy.
I had ten of those hidden fates balls on the top tried to get $5 on the lot on ebay and couldn't. Ended up throwing them away.
