- Just ahead of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, hundreds of U.S. veterans made the jump over France from three C-47 World War II-era planes in remembrance of the 13,000 American paratroopers who, on June 6, 1944, were met with a hail of German gunfire when they dropped into France. Charlie D'Agata, who also took part in Wednesday's special parachute jump, reports.

My father was in W W 2 and he died in 2013. Thank you Daddy for all you did for our country and for me - you were a good man and I miss you every single day.
GOD BLESS YOUR DADDY
Thank you, thank God, and thank your father for his bravery. His bravery. He probably wouldn't like it but I appreciate him.
Simply, "thank you," is all I can give.
I'm from the UK both of my grandparents fought in world war II and took part in D-Day I was always fascinated in their stories so proud to be related to them rip
You are so lucky they survived and that they did not keep their stories a secret. I hope you pass them on to the next generations in your family. ☺️
As an American, I am just as proud of the English, the Canadians, as I am my own countryman that we stood together against tyranny! It may be the best thing that mankind has ever done!
To all the WWII Vets. Thank you Gentlemen
Never Forget.
SALUTE Thank you one and all for your service! Some gave all 🙏
From a 'free' Scotsman, 'THANK YOU' to all the allied men & women that participated in D-Day & ultimately every hard fought day until the liberation of the lands & people around the world.
And to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice, history will always remember you.
The word 'HERO', is a fitting description for them all!
THANK YOU
Amen to that.
I am a history geek and it is inspiring to hear stories about the heros fighting in the war
Thank you ❤
We didnt forgotten your sacrifice forever and ever thank you for you brave generation and the next generation. An legacy a best World
I can't believe how few americans have decided to honor these videos with a Alike. It is shameful.
I bet a bunch of MAGAs haven't. Afterall their Dear Leader thinks these people were suckers and losers.
Because they live in their bubble, and if it’s not in America it don’t exist to them.
Very low views. They aren't even watching.
I've liked it and I'm American
Hero's all who served.
Truly the greatest generation.
Wow! 9,388 dead! D-Day Invasion ! WWII The american Civil War was the worst war we ever fought 750,000 deaths in 4 years , Antietnam 23,000 in a single day, Gettysburg 53,000 in 3 days ! All soldiers would prob a bly agree with UNION General William T Sherman ehonsaid this to General US Grant shortly after the battle of Shiloh "WAR IS HELL!" ALL soldiers would probably agree with Sherman. My Great -Uncle died on a beach February 19,1944 in Anzio, Italy. He was a Staff Sgt. in the US Army! Thank all these D-Day Veterans for their historic service! 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
God bless the fallen. God bless The Greatest Generation. Amen.
Crazy how it has been 80 years since almost word word 2. But for some reason it's more relevant now to speak about the war then it was 40 years ago
Salute to you all
My grandfather however was in the red army
Russia fought like hell
Salute from Louisville!
Salute from Lexington!
@@sierravista9013 AFTER they were double-crossed.
I’m ashamed of the pathetic ceremony in Washington DC yesterday. There should have been a full military band and men’s chorus instead of just a few instruments. The sound system was bad and the only speech worth listening to was the daughter of a veteran who lost his life that night 80 years ago. America, you can do better!
Lookin good fellas, USA!

STAND-UP,
HOOK-UP...Shuffle to tha Door...
Jump right out and count to 4.
Probably just the editing, but you don't count AFTER the can o' peas opens, you count before... no opening shock and full deployment with NO blue patches, then it's reserve time.
Badass

Never knew that some of our journalists can parachute !
80 years ago, General Eisenhower directed the greatest invasion force in history. Shortly before D-Day, he came to inspect the American troops in training in Exmoor, England.
One day, he told his aides to wait for him while he climbed alone to the summit of a hill. There, aware of his helplessness, the man who would become President of the United Sates turned to the Lord is prayer.
Whatever battles we face, prayer to God is our greatest weapon.
Err.. the veterans were from all many allied countries, not just the US. Thanks CBS.
✨✊✨
I apologize for our president’s disrespectful behavior
Shows alot of rememberance when democrats leave the country they defended open to terrorists; through the border democrats intentionally leave open for political purposes.
Will Biden tell the Uncle Bosie story? 😂🤣🤣🤣
I am glad Trump won't be there to mock our fight men and women. All American military are heroes but the contributions of the Greatest Generation shine like a beacon to the world.
If you didn’t see it first hand with your own eyes don’t believe it, I’ve seen veterans treated great by him. Truthfully.
Brainwashed much?🤡
Even John Bolton, no friend of Trump, says Trump never made the comment you are referring to. And what's Biden gonna do. Commemorate the Brave Transgenders who stormed the Normandy beaches?
🤡
@@tomcurtis2015You heard what he said of McCain, didn’t you?
If wasn't for Russia and USA the French would be speaking german fluently .
If it wasn’t for Russia, Germany would likely not have invaded Poland. Try to keep up, the Soviet Union and Germany entered into a pact and divided up Poland which started the war.
KREMLIN TROLL
USA wasn't going to lose, however 5/6 of German troops died fighting Soviet Russia.

why do you Americans memorialize war so much ? like a birthday celebration . like it is a sugar coated fair tale. that is disgusting and morbid . what is the american infatuation with war planes war guns and tanks . as if they are novelties. also disgusting
Russia 🇷🇺 hold my cup🥤 😮!
You must be a child, you'll learn in a few years.
@@PK-pp3lu no he won't. unfortunately, current and future generations are not and will not be brave like these men and women of the golden generation. we live in a navel gazing society and that's probably all this commenter has ever known.
