I bought a Jayco Terrain in 2021 because it was available immediately and ARV was a two year wait. The build quality was/is poor. I have been lucky in sealing all the water leaks. Your box van builds are really impressive, especially liked your video with the snow in cold weather overnight with your wife. Heading to your website now!

I wish you continued success. I saw last week Earthcruiser an RV manufacturer in Oregon closed.

Sad day for Earthcruiser and other companies who have had to downsize and close. So far, we have been fortunate in not having to downsize or otherwise lay people off. We work to build a strong foundation with no corporate debt and stable work force. We likely lose some business during boom times but we have never had a layoff. Our current clients have helped in the slow times as they upgrade and replace their older ARV'a with new ones.

I met a guy on the road in Baja and ARV told him 'dont buy one of our rigs, buy an earthroamer, you wont be satisfied with a unibody sprinter.' I was impressed...

Thanks for connecting the conversations. We try to get to know each traveler's needs and sometimes their needs are better met by other companies. We are pleased to make referrals in those cases.

Awesome! So on the 4 day work week, I share your sentiments.
But I would like to know tho, is it a thing where you have 2 persons filling each role 2 days a week and they overlap on 2 day? Hence you still have 6 days in which production is ongoing without stopping?

Thanks for the question. Each member of the team either works a Monday thru Thursday week, or a Tuesday thru Friday week, so that we can be available to our clients for the typical five day work week.

@1:42 the van in the background has the most solar I've ever see on a van!

Womp, the van in the background is almost 10 years old. It has 1200 watts of solar on the top. It was built for the Burning Man festival and other serious off the grid travel.

I do not agree with comments here implying that the market for $500K rigs is too limited. ARV builds the equivalent of high end yachts which START at $500K. The market for this kind of product is larger than you think. ARV is not a budget or mass builder- and that’s a good thing.

I disagree with Samuel. Given that ARV’s entire history has only produced ~160+ vans there is still lots of room for top of the line vans like theirs. I hear no existing ARV van owners complaining about how much it cost but rather how much fun they’re having. Maybe it’s not infinite - but still a long ways to go.

You seem like a real decent honest company. Amazing products, but unfortunately not for the masses. Perhaps you could find a way to allow the average guy or gal an opportunity.

Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts. Your comment is spot on. Fortunately there are many good companies who have focused on mass production and low cost. These companies provide motor homes at a price point that enables many people to experience motorhome travel.

The main problem with ARV that soon they will run out of customers who is willing to pay 500,000 dollars for a van (!), then waiting two years for a build to be completed (!)... It's just unsustainable business model. And with many other good van builders around, this moment is inevitably coming....

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Things are always changing and, to your point, business is fragile. All we can do is to keep innovating and learning and building the best custom product for our clients. If that isn't good enough, we will try to adapt but we have been fortunate for the past 12 years.

@@AdvancedRV If you can manage to "copy" style, quality, openness and WIDER body of Wingamm from Italy - you will own the US market. People will line up to you for years to come. People in US are craving for Euro style, they're sick of stupid floor plans and silly colors of US manufacturers, not to mention the quality... Think about it.

I'm glad you are in a free state. In California, absent a union contract you can't have a 4x10 work week. Any hours worked over 8 per day is overtime, so a 4x10 winds up costing the business 8 hours of time and a half per week, which is costly. Non-union employees want a 4x10 but the state knows better. Here is to your continued economic heath in a topsy-turvey RV market that sees good manufacturers closing on a regular basis.

      ARV has a 4x8 week, not a 4x10.

Thank you for your comment and good wishes. We actually work a 32 hour week and pay for 40 hours. Our team has worked to increase productivity in the process.

Hope all is well! Not sure if its the lighting but your skin is a bit jaundiced (yellow). Recommend checking in with your primary care provider if thats the case.
