I've been playing OverWatch for almost 8 years and aside from PVE being canceled in 5v5 having some serious problems I can honestly tell you we've never had it This good. We are getting regular balance patches. They are responding to feedback. We are getting content for the game on a regular scheduled basis which we did not have in OverWatch one All of that started with OverWatch 2
The thing that sucks the most about this is that everyone that is actually to blame for this madness are gone. Leads devs have been replaced, designers, artists, balance team, etc. we are yelling at people that have just inherited the stain of a company.

@BMBell11 no not really. You would have to edit each individual hero to make sure it's balanced. Along with the fact that a game on this large scale would also have other things they would have to worry about like server load
@@Archimedes-ow server issues typically wouldn't be fixed directly in the games code, and it also depends on the software. I also highly doubt that the heroes will be changed/balanced specifically for that mode.
It all over...watch. Rivals might even end up more popular just by virtue of having so many well loved characters and references in it. Overwatch wanted us to care about a whole world they kept claiming they wanted to flesh out (with campaigns, movies, etc.) and never really did.
Avid Overwatch player here. Would like to say that they had no intention of bringing 6v6 back, but only did so because the player base borderline harassed them until they had a response. It's a lose-lose situation for them. Many players want 6v6 but if they bring back 6v6 they obviously get ridiculed.
to be fair, they never should have changed this in the first place, Overwatch is currently on a tightrope, as their player base is already ridiculously low, if they don't do what their small community wants, they'll disappear off the map when the competition comes knocking
A lot of people wanted 6v6 back because the balance team couldn't make 5v5 work even after two years of balancing since OW2 came out. The tank role suffered the most without an off-tank. So many complained about how playing tank felt awful in OW2 and gigabuffing the tanks in 5v5 only turned them into raid bosses and made them unfun to play against.
Maybe if they don't want to be ridiculed, they should put on their big boy pants and give us a dedicated PvE experience that they promised... what? 2? 3 years ago?

Its important to remember that this classic gamemode is not the official 6v6 test, this is to bring back nostalgia for the old ow1 players, the 6v6 trial is coming soon and will probably be last versions of ow1 if not a few patches before
Probably only 5% of the people playing over watch 2 played during the first day of overwatch one. The mode just isn’t fun, its horribly unbalanced to the point that of your on attack on 50% of the maps you should just leave because all your going to do is run into 4 bastions. And only 6 or 7 characters are even playable and can hold their own.

Definitely. While I was happy that it went for free but that came at the cost of having a bunch of microtransactions shoved into my face, honestly I would've payed for OW1 and enjoyed the lootboxes there instead of a battlepass.
OW1 was the first (and only) multi-player game that I dumped thousands of hours into, I loved the game, I played it everyday after school. I was so hyped when they announced OW2. I bought the pre-order bonus and played the beta and was still excited. When the full game released I barely played it. It was a reskin of the first game with barely any extra content. Not only that but them not having story mode on release hurt the whole point of OW2. Canceling it entirely made things even worse. Then the idea to remove loot boxes and lock characters behind a paywall didn't help at all. OW2 was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever seen.
most of these issues are resolved (especially the new heroes behind paywalls) now which still doesn't excuse blizzard's scummy dumpy ass for doing it in the first place

TF2 doesnt have this problem You can get near every iten "expect re-skins like autralium" for free Even cosmedics you can get for free altough it is kinda rare By kinda I mean I got 100 weapons before a re-skin

Lets not forget all the free skins you got In OW1 from loot boxes for playing the game. Then when OW2 came out you lost them all and now had to pay for them.

it was their way of making people pay for skins. before OW2 i was playing to get credits to get free skins and almost got my favorite skin on each character released at the time. Now you have to buy the skins, removed the major play to earn aspect. its GG for OW.
2016 player here. I want all the newbies to know, you spend 50$ and get 2 skins and a battle pass. We spent 40$ and got 70 loot boxes, translating into 280 items with any duplicates turning into in game currency, and we didn’t need a battle pass. They’re making you pay for base game characters who were free upon launch and during every release and shitty base skins we didn’t even bother buying with in game currency they were so bad, we just won them in loot boxes. Stop giving them money. “But the skins are so cool” They’ll come back. Blizzard can’t afford to capitalize on FOMO because its original base players got fed up and left and yall aren’t providing the kinda big cash pay outs they were expecting from their formerly massive player base. Pink Mercy coming back wasn’t because they give a fuck about any of you, it was a desperate bid to get the OG’s attention because they’re sinking faster than they can bail water. Stop giving them money. Make them really panic. You don’t deserve to be treated like cash cows by a game with no integrity and zero incentive to be passionate about it. I cannot overstate enough how much Blizzard has never and does not give a fuck about you. If you want to play a predatory game that bleeds you dry of all your spare income, please at least play a game that compensates you well for your hard earned cash.
In their defense, Bobby Kottick was the main reason why Overwatch 2 (among many other things) turned to shit, and now the team is trying to restore the trust of their players. The bad thing is how Bobby’s terrible management can still be found in blizzard with their finance guy who is basically a clone of Bobby but with less power.

He was by far not the only culprit. Jeff Kaplan was one of the people that sunk millions of dollars into a game that was never going to exist. Not to mention that they didn't want to hire more people because they have a "work culture" and shot themselves in the foot during development across games.

Overwatch released a classic version, a one time thing thats not meant to be set in stone. The deva said and end goal was a new gamemode, but thats bot the case right now. Tbh, ow has changed so much as a game, its very diffirent from ow1 and not just cosmeticaly. Bringing back 6v6 was also a community requested thing, not the devs idea.
anew game mode, but not "classic" as that game mode, no reason to think its not still in the works. It's probably similar to that junkenstein mutation mode with the PvE scraps. and you're right, OW2 is very different form OW1, it's way better in almost every aspect. Not at launch, but in november 2024.
@aouyiu my issue with people on the pve situation is would people have even bothered with pve as most ppl see a pve thing play it once or twice then never touch it again. Same with the overwatch 2 that everyone says it's the same game of course the idea wasn't to create a entirely different game it was to get more people into the game and it worked as going free to play had a lot of good sides unlike games like smite which made a 2nd game that flopped horribly

imo Rivals will never truly compete with overwatch because it is third person, even if there are people who don't care, there are a lot of people who like FPS and just won't play a third person shooter (me included).

Honestly 6v6 returning has been fun. They’ve added a version that uses all of the new characters and maps, and it’s genuinely a blast. Couple that with the fact that the game is now free, it’s a pretty good time to hop back in if you’ve been gone for a while.
Overwatch Classic isn't the Overwatch 6v6 mode returning by the way. Thats coming in season 14. This was just made to shit on Overwatch even more with misleading information.

PvE cancelled was the big one - I would've come back to the game for that - and then everything else slowly and sure fell apart too. Reduced team size and an inability to balance the game in a way anybody asked for - FOR TWO YEARS. They're making an announcement to try and grab holiday playtime activity. When the would-be release time comes, they'll announced it's delayed. Again, and again, and again. They'll probably confess it was cancelled by April, and confess again that they never even worked on it by June. Just like with every other feature they promised for OW2. 😂

I’ll say it again I always thought overwatch 2 was a bad idea. Even as a fan I didn’t expect much and thought it was stupid to make a sequel to a pvp game they should have just made pve a dlc attachment and did an update on the visuals, adding a 2 to make it more extravagant (and stupid) was just ambitiously over promising, they could have just updated it to overwatch heroes recall. I never understood the hype around overwatch 2 and I’m glad I didn’t, damn.

What's actually crazy is that despite what you said, nearly everyone working on OW2 today haven't worked on OW1, most of the original team for it is gone. They were gone before OW2 even released, it's part of the reason the game was so barren for its last couple years. Less devs and the sole focus was OW2 even though OW1 was still live and being played. So the fact that they're making similar mistakes.......

People forget that regular Overwatch was originally going to come out in late 2016, but they pushed the release date in late April or early May instead. People questioned why they did this, but the reality was because Gearbox Studios had just come out with a MOBA similar to Overwatch called Battleborn that was being worked on for several years before "Project Titan" (the Blizzard project that was scrapped in 2012 before overwatch came out). Battleborn was in development for about 6 years iirc and it was a fantastic game. 3 weeks after it released, Overwatch dropped early and gained huge traction, being made by Blizzard and all. Battleborns servers were immediately deserted and the game stopped recieving updates just a few years later. RIP Battleborn, you were the best MOBA with the least recognition
Overwatch and Fortnite are parallels because they are trying to bring back there prime because they are running out of ideas like we discussed in the video but how Fortnite parallels overwatch is that they repeatedly are bringing back “Og” or “remix” just some gaming companies don’t wanna accept they are dead.

Its important to remember that this classic gamemode is not the official 6v6 test, this is to bring back nostalgia for the old ow1 players, the 6v6 trial is coming soon and will probably be last versions of ow1 if not a few patches before
the trial will be with all of OW2s heroes and abilities

Probably only 5% of the people playing over watch 2 played during the first day of overwatch one. The mode just isn’t fun, its horribly unbalanced to the point that of your on attack on 50% of the maps you should just leave because all your going to do is run into 4 bastions. And only 6 or 7 characters are even playable and can hold their own.

OW1 was the first (and only) multi-player game that I dumped thousands of hours into, I loved the game, I played it everyday after school. I was so hyped when they announced OW2. I bought the pre-order bonus and played the beta and was still excited. When the full game released I barely played it. It was a reskin of the first game with barely any extra content. Not only that but them not having story mode on release hurt the whole point of OW2. Canceling it entirely made things even worse. Then the idea to remove loot boxes and lock characters behind a paywall didn't help at all. OW2 was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever seen.
Overwatch before was completely different from what we have now. It’s sad that Blizzard decided to lock content behind paywalls just for extra money.
most of these issues are resolved (especially the new heroes behind paywalls) now which still doesn't excuse blizzard's scummy dumpy ass for doing it in the first place

it was their way of making people pay for skins. before OW2 i was playing to get credits to get free skins and almost got my favorite skin on each character released at the time. Now you have to buy the skins, removed the major play to earn aspect. its GG for OW.
2016 player here. I want all the newbies to know, you spend 50$ and get 2 skins and a battle pass. We spent 40$ and got 70 loot boxes, translating into 280 items with any duplicates turning into in game currency, and we didn’t need a battle pass. They’re making you pay for base game characters who were free upon launch and during every release and shitty base skins we didn’t even bother buying with in game currency they were so bad, we just won them in loot boxes. Stop giving them money. “But the skins are so cool” They’ll come back. Blizzard can’t afford to capitalize on FOMO because its original base players got fed up and left and yall aren’t providing the kinda big cash pay outs they were expecting from their formerly massive player base. Pink Mercy coming back wasn’t because they give a fuck about any of you, it was a desperate bid to get the OG’s attention because they’re sinking faster than they can bail water. Stop giving them money. Make them really panic. You don’t deserve to be treated like cash cows by a game with no integrity and zero incentive to be passionate about it. I cannot overstate enough how much Blizzard has never and does not give a fuck about you. If you want to play a predatory game that bleeds you dry of all your spare income, please at least play a game that compensates you well for your hard earned cash.

In their defense, Bobby Kottick was the main reason why Overwatch 2 (among many other things) turned to shit, and now the team is trying to restore the trust of their players. The bad thing is how Bobby’s terrible management can still be found in blizzard with their finance guy who is basically a clone of Bobby but with less power.
He is the reason why so many devs left too. He also stated that his goal was to get money out of games and that’s it

He was by far not the only culprit. Jeff Kaplan was one of the people that sunk millions of dollars into a game that was never going to exist. Not to mention that they didn't want to hire more people because they have a "work culture" and shot themselves in the foot during development across games.

Overwatch fell off so badly that when I finished a marvel rivals session, I went to look at how overwatch was competing and it had 20min queues just to play tank or dps

Overwatch released a classic version, a one time thing thats not meant to be set in stone. The deva said and end goal was a new gamemode, but thats bot the case right now. Tbh, ow has changed so much as a game, its very diffirent from ow1 and not just cosmeticaly. Bringing back 6v6 was also a community requested thing, not the devs idea.
anew game mode, but not "classic" as that game mode, no reason to think its not still in the works. It's probably similar to that junkenstein mutation mode with the PvE scraps.
and you're right, OW2 is very different form OW1, it's way better in almost every aspect. Not at launch, but in november 2024.
@aouyiu my issue with people on the pve situation is would people have even bothered with pve as most ppl see a pve thing play it once or twice then never touch it again. Same with the overwatch 2 that everyone says it's the same game of course the idea wasn't to create a entirely different game it was to get more people into the game and it worked as going free to play had a lot of good sides unlike games like smite which made a 2nd game that flopped horribly

Honestly 6v6 returning has been fun. They’ve added a version that uses all of the new characters and maps, and it’s genuinely a blast. Couple that with the fact that the game is now free, it’s a pretty good time to hop back in if you’ve been gone for a while.

PvE cancelled was the big one - I would've come back to the game for that - and then everything else slowly and sure fell apart too. Reduced team size and an inability to balance the game in a way anybody asked for - FOR TWO YEARS.
They're making an announcement to try and grab holiday playtime activity. When the would-be release time comes, they'll announced it's delayed. Again, and again, and again. They'll probably confess it was cancelled by April, and confess again that they never even worked on it by June.
Just like with every other feature they promised for OW2. 😂

I’ll say it again I always thought overwatch 2 was a bad idea.
Even as a fan I didn’t expect much and thought it was stupid to make a sequel to a pvp game they should have just made pve a dlc attachment and did an update on the visuals, adding a 2 to make it more extravagant (and stupid) was just ambitiously over promising, they could have just updated it to overwatch heroes recall.
I never understood the hype around overwatch 2 and I’m glad I didn’t, damn.

What's actually crazy is that despite what you said, nearly everyone working on OW2 today haven't worked on OW1, most of the original team for it is gone.
They were gone before OW2 even released, it's part of the reason the game was so barren for its last couple years. Less devs and the sole focus was OW2 even though OW1 was still live and being played.

People forget that regular Overwatch was originally going to come out in late 2016, but they pushed the release date in late April or early May instead.
People questioned why they did this, but the reality was because Gearbox Studios had just come out with a MOBA similar to Overwatch called Battleborn that was being worked on for several years before "Project Titan" (the Blizzard project that was scrapped in 2012 before overwatch came out). Battleborn was in development for about 6 years iirc and it was a fantastic game. 3 weeks after it released, Overwatch dropped early and gained huge traction, being made by Blizzard and all. Battleborns servers were immediately deserted and the game stopped recieving updates just a few years later.
