Not to mention to costume design and the locations. the only bad thing i could say about the show is that some of the extras got sloppy which the editor should've caught but ended up in some scenes. Still it's extremely hard to get only good extras.
True. Sharpe's a self-made man up from the gutter but over and over he demonstrates he's got more common sense and worldly-wisdom than many of his "betters." Now some will say Sharpe's just a fictional character which is true, but in my 70 years I've met plenty of real-life Sharpes with that same common sense and worldly-wisdom. It doesn't automatically come with a diploma or birthright. Remember that.
They would have taken the deal, if the General had offered them soup.

There was no chance of that. Not those two. The last guy they offered food to, they stabbed in the back.

@@MrPolicekarim now I forget. That's a good excuse to watch it again. I forget which episode. It was in the back, right?

Outmanned and outgunned by the French and you still tell them to bugger off?... Now that's soldering.
That's sweet Williaming
Fixing a circuit board by melting tiny amounts of metal? That's soldering
That's being sharp.
@@CSSVirginia Better bugger off now.
Connecting metal to another piece using heat? Now that's soldering
This really was an excellent series. The acting was fantastic.

It's what really made the show.
Still holding out hope for a new Napoleonic Wars TV show directed by Sean Bean.
I just want one starring Sean Bean.
Sean Bean as Wellington
@@james87367 Sean Bean is about the right age to play Sharpe during the Crimean War if they wanted to make a new Sharpe.
No Way that is happening
Has Sean Bean worked as a Director before?
I loved this episode to death.
You make your bed ... and you have to lie in it .... good advice for the lying. Gibbering politicians we have.
You make your bed and you lie in it... with Simmerson's niece. He didn't complain about that.
Good advice for all the spoiled brats of all kinds we're overrun with nowadays.
nah the people today have short memories
Good old Sharpe. Always knew how to tell it to the enemies. If only today we see that more often. They're all just about their skin.

I really like the depiction of the morality of spying for your country...what it takes from a person..
Oh, how I have missed Major Sharpe...
Sharpe give up? Not Sharpe! Not the rifles. It don't care if they are from the 95th or the 5/60.
Now that's soldiering
3:45 - 5:00
My favorite part of this episode!
No he shouldnt he is too sharp
Yeah, "still sharp", just like Narsil.
Sharpe will always go on soldiering
Is he an electrician?
