I have great memories of this series as a teenager. ISS pro 98 and Iss pro Evo got me hooked. On Ps2, PES 3 was my favourite for years, until PS3 came out, and I eventually crossed over to the dark side and went with Fifa after PES 13. But PES will always be in my memory as a fantastic soccer game
I've been playing PES since the PS2 days, and I'd say that PES 2020 is one of the best in the series (perhaps even more memorable than PES 2013 for me). It also happens to be somewhat the last in the series (since 2021 is just a season update), so it will always have a special place for me. I spent hundreds of hours with this game during the 2020 quarantine.

ISS Pro '98 on the PS1 was the best 2 player game of football since Sensible Soccer. Once Brazilian Ronaldo got into full flow, there was no catching him!
Facts! 💯 This game still holds up pretty well today, the gameplay is just fun. Roberto Carlos up front 👌🏻 Would love a remastered version of this game.

PES6 is the best. It's not as flashy and sophisticated as the latter games, but it's the most enjoyable one. I still have it on my PC and play it time over time.

Agreed PES6 (and PES4 and 5 before) have something magical about them that is absent in the following years. They have more of an arcade feeling also since you can score beautiful goals from far too.
So happy when I discovered PES on PS2. During this time I had a PC much more powerful than PS2 so I could see the limitations. Hype was high for PS3... what a disaster. Only PES13 saved things... kinda. Then on PS4 PES15 was a beacon of light. First try and decent game wow! Then all came crashing down with PES16. This when PES took arcade to super arcady gameplay. Since then it's all been arcady ping pong passing games. 17 and 19 probably the best of these arcady trend, not good games. eFootball with 1.0 is more of the same, following the steps of the terrible PES20.
Pes 13 was trash are you for real??? Pes 16 was great and a beacon of hope for the franchise. Pes 20 was great. Arcady or not...the gameplay was realistic.

ah that was an amazing watch through the glory years, brought back some great memories. I've been playing PES since the start. The fluidity and gameplay peaked around PES 3 to PES 5, after that you can see it get progressively worse. I stopped buying them due to constant disappointment around 2014 and the last one I bought was 2021. It's crazy to see the game play and static movement get worse over time rather than better. Gameplay should come first not quality of graphics, which is unfortunately what happens.

Up to 2019 pes was pes .....people with no so strong player could win thanks to their tech skills . Dribbling was the centre of the game. Now it's all about script, AI and annoying stuff (I mean efootball) ...there is no "skill first" approach. Give us back PeS where if you deserve you won without speedy Gonzales player which are now not stoppable in any way even if the opponent is not good. Someone will give us the old pes , I still believe in this

The first football console game I ever played was FIFA 2001 because my Mum bought me and my brother that PS1 redesigned smaller model that year for Christmas. I used to think it was the DOGS BOLLOCKS until I then went over to my friends house and him and his brother were playing "International Superstar Soccer" on their PlayStation. And to be completely honest after I was shown that game I kind of kicked FIFA to the curb and just DIDN'T wanna know. I'm comparison the only thing the FIFA franchise ever had up until PES started appearing on the PS3 were the licenses. Gameplay wise at least especially on the PS1 I just came to realize just how ONE DIMENSIONAL a game like FIFA is compared to Pro Evo. You just would end up scoring the SAME goals over and over again because there was BUGGER ALL variation!!
All PES Games are good and realistic If someone who actually played football in field professionally he/she will always prefer PES over FIFA. But after PES 2013 PES 14-15 were not that good as FIFA were that's why mostly PES fans left PES & joined FIFA fanclub but PES 16 17 18 were rebirth of PES era PES 2019 Criticised because they lost few licenses but PES 20 / 21 is the last Football game on earth which is closest to reality and fun and I will always play PES 21 with real life patches till my death 😎
Best times starting Master League with Huilens and Burchet haha 😂😂😂 what a crappy team but it was so much fun to build your own team and Design your own shirts and stuff ! I loved it ❤ And for me after Pes 13 the game got a really bad turn and never recovered from it . Because 13 was so good in all aspects and they threw it away like some trash ! I read some comments there about better titles that where better like 16 , 17 . Well i tryed them but it wasnt the same anymore for me(sad but true) .
All those teenagers en early twentiers will never understand how groundbreaking iss pro evolution and after that, pes 3, 4, 5 and 6 were. Cannot blame them of course, but when I see comments here about PES 2013-2018 was the best, I get flabbergasted. That was literally the time when the 1st pes generation started to boycot pes because the gameplay got worse and the focus became more towards licensed leagues while gameplay was their absolute strenght before.

I've been playing PES since the PS2 days, and I'd say that PES 2020 is one of the best in the series (perhaps even more memorable than PES 2013 for me).
